Fulfilment and joy come to those who make the most of what they've got. (had to go and find my little book)

June, I had to chuckle at your comment that I sound much brighter. Here when we say someone is not too bright it means they are not too smart.

Vicki, I hate it when they take my underarm, or hairspray! Now I leave a set of everything at Bill's place, that way I don't have to take anything with me except a change of clothes or two.

MizT, your sentiment was one I think we all relate to, you don't want to watch, but you can't stop either. I think of it as a sort of homage to those who are directly involved ♥

Not what I meant Theresa. If someone has been a bit under the weather (unwell or down in the dumps) and they sound as though they are feeling better I often say they sound 'brighter'. We also use the not bright term the same as you.

Hi Gail, at one stage I thought we were headed for Puffing Billy at Easter but ended up in the opposite direction! Would have loved to have seen you.

My nephew spent Saturday with a chain saw. He has 2 huge trees down at his house, but they are on the back of the property, and were not a priority. He went to find the path of the destruction and volunteer. He and a crew of about 5 were assigned to the fringes of the path, where homes were mostly still standing, but thousands of trees were down. He cut, the others removed the sections, clearing property of the trees.

I heard on the news yesterday, the city of Tuscaloosa lost almost all of their sanitation and environmental management vehicles. All of their garbage trucks were damaged, and they patched together 8 by taking parts fr9om others to repair the least damaged. they have no big equipment left, for removing debris, and are asking other communities for the load of equipment.

The RED CROSS building there that contained equipment for disaster relief was destroyed, they are having to have things trucked in from other areas.

I feel better this morning than I have in days, hope it lats the day. Lots of ffuts I need to catch up on today. Al has often said, as soon as you are a bit better, you are rushing around doing things immediately. Well Duh, when would you have me do them, while I am hurting?

Speaking of rushing around, it is time to make us some breakfast. I will be so happy when once again that involves making enough of whatever for two, and not two separate menus.

Hugs to each of you, with extras.

One hour after I posted that "no rain except on the internet" post, a huge storm hit. It's FINALLY stopped crashing. The dogs kept me up all night, tho' Dennis has improved some. I think he's losing his hearing, and he's now blind in one eye. The joys of old age. But Hollie, Molly, Coffee and Missy were all over me, freaking out. Hollie is the worst, and she doesn't react well to tranks. So I sit up and comfort the old girl. I'm glad that she trusts me enough to come to me when she's scared. She was rescued from a puppy mill at the age of 12, and had spent all those years with minimal human contact, no training and no affection. She still avoids most people..... though she adored Grass-hopper.

I need to get going. We've got someone coming by in half an hour to discuss custom haying. The person who has been doing our hay for the past few years is having too many health issues and can't do it any more, so we're looking for someone else to cut, rake and roll it. I have no experience doing it myself, and the equipment is so expensive.... a decent baler costs as much as a new car, and then there are special cutters for alfalfa, rakes and tedderers that together cost as much as another new car. I'd rather pay someone who does this for a living to do the work for me.

Hi all. Just stopping in for a minute. Glad to hear that all is well, or seems to be. I have had a busy weekend taking care of ffuts and running errands. Only 30 school days left and as of now I am doing NOTHING for the summer. Boys did not want to go to camp either so we will do mommy camp. Whatever cheap activities we can come up with. I will try to find a part time job for the extra income. Hubby is working but it is not the best salary. At least he is working.

I had an expensive weekend. Paid $81 for Mitchell's end of year field trip. Paid for a ticket I got last month for an illegal left turn. Bought a new cell phone, as mine died. Then yesterday, Dylan told me his cleats didn't fit so I had to buy him new baseball cleats today. And baseball season is almost over.

Morning all,
Alie is not a happy camper this morning - and the grazes don't look good. We'll be stopping at the chemist on her way to school...

Tami, I hope you have a wonderful rejuvenating summer! It really sucks that teachers are paid so little they need to work during the summer - my SIL did it too when her kids were at home, I don't know if she still does. You had a very expensive weekend! Dana did that to me with her cleats once - one game to go, I made her wear them too small. It's hard to get them down here anyway - have to travel an hour to get to a baseball shop.

Vicki, your time with your sister sounds wonderful.. Shame about the arrogant airport guy - got to make himself feel important somehow, you never know, you might have taken someone's arm off with those nail scissors!!

Broni, have a wonderful time at the BBQ! I hope Poss has learned his lesson for next time and finds a way to call you.

June, it is amazing to meet so many people from all around the world - you meet more than most I think both because of your location and because of your generosity...

heidi, it is wonderful that your puppy farm dog trusts you. She has had a hard life and it is fantastic that the end of her life is full of love.

MizT, my thoughts are still with the people affected by the tornadoes. It reminds me to send out some thoughts to the people here who are still recovering from their disasters but are not in the media spotlight anymore. Like the Anzacs, we need to remember them.

Suzy, I thought about making him wait but his heel is bothering him and he is limping. I don't want to do any damage. His should be better in a day or so and I think the limp is exaggerated
I worked at camp more to keep busy and not go shopping everyday. This year I can use the money to help catch up on the bills from when hubby was out of work. There is a few weeks of work at school for the summer, hopefully I will get that.

Just back from taking Alie to school via the chemist. She has a big bandage covering her arm now so it doesn't hurt as much when her clothes touch it..

I'm already celebrating. Unfortunately, it's starting to rain again, and will be storming badly for the next two days. The lawn needs mowing but there is a lot of standing water in the yard still. It's hard to mow through 12 inch deep water.

I wouldn't start the celebration until I was sure the plane was in the air!

The school year here doesn't fit well with teachers working in the holidays Tami, 3 breaks of 2 weeks each and one of 5 or 6 at Xmas, our summer.

Where did you hear that, Heidi? Maybe I should check that out.

Tami, good luck finding something that you enjoy for the summer.

Suzy, I am sure the ouch feels must better with the bandage. Sending healing thoughts to Alii.

Broni, am I too late for the BBQ? Any leftovers? Something cooked outside would really hit the spot about now. What was on the menu??

I did a HEIDI today, slept for about 5 or 6 hours! All I can say is, I must have needed it, the horrible achies are much better. I even forgot to make Al his lunch, so his meals were terrible off schedule. He is having dinner now.

I almost do not believe it, but I am sleepy again. Off to bed in a bit here.

Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Twitter is apparently full of that news Heidi, I don't do twitter so got that second hand. It won't make any difference though, there will be many others to take his place.

MizT, glad the sleep helped your achies...

The president just spoke on TV, yes, it is official.

Suzy, you are right that there are many to take his place, but I do think this will weaken their stand. The US was able to find him, and they have that same capability to find other leaders.
