Swishy thing going, dishwasher going (I figure that one isn't swearing since it's doing the krow for you), fresh cup of coffee... and my blasted connection has gone slow again.

Suzy, I did 3 loads today and will save the cat blankets for tomorrow. I got an 8 foot stretch in front of a privacy fence cleaned out. It still needs fine tuning - fertilizer, etc - but I didn't want to overdo it on my arm or back. What a wonderful day I've had - even snuck in a short nap.

The flower beds are a mess because I didn't get a chance to do anything with them in the fall. Good thing it's still early in the year. I can't find my lilies - hope the neglect hasn't killed them off. I realize I will have to downsize the flower beds this year and plant grass seed instead.

Broni, I have been saving large rocks and plan on filling in spaces with them. The darn weeds crop up around them. If I had the time and energy I should dig everything up and put some of that landscaping fabric down. Somehow I don't see that happening in the near future.

Theresa, sounds like a wonderful me day! My front garden needs some work if you're up to it. Hope you find the lillies!

Broni, watch your language today - you don't want to be too warn out for the BBQ tomorrow.

My dogs are happy campers. I replaced their beds and tpews up all of their fur. Shadow has a new dog coat because she is starting to feel the cold. It's a beautiful day today so I've taken it off and she is in heaven.

I got some peonies planted around my new patio today. They're budded out and will be blooming within 2 weeks.

Julie, Suzy, you are right, you really do not want to see the devestation on the other videos. Home site after site, with just a foundation, no house at all, so there was nowhere to hide in those.

I saw another video taken at ground level, from a moving auto. It was supposed to be a slow motion video of tornado hitting a building. As the tornado approached the building, I saw something sucked up into the funnel cloud. After rewinding, a fast, split second hit of the pause button, and I found that something was an entire house. After a few more tries, saw 2 more houses. Unbelievable that it can happen, unbelievable that someone caught it on tape.

I need to walk away from this, but find I cannot.

Theresa, do you use mulch on your flower beds? If so, you can put down sheets of newspapers around your flowers, and cover with mulch. A 3 or 4 sheet thick covering is all you need. keeps the weeds from coming back most of the season. You might get a few seedlings from seeds falling into the mulch, but that is all. I have used this and it really works. Water can go through, you can cut Xs in the paper to go around smaller plantings, larger, just lay it around them, one sheet at a time, overlaping as you go round.

Well that good intention to keep up didn't last long!! Last here on the 1st page of SA10 and I am 62 pages behind... Thank you for the welcome home..have missed you all.

CANNOT believe that it is over a fortnight since I dropped in.. caught up with winter ills that have come early and trying to catch up on all the autumn jobs now that it is thankfully cool enough to step outdoors...

Will try to update my photos soon.. for your benefit mostly Heidi. Just about everybody else is on FB and can see what has been keeping me SO busy. The puppies are over 6 months old & keeping us VERY busy!

And now I am buzzing off outdoors again.. will do another puzzle first with a coffee..big hugs to all that need them.. i am relying on Gail filling me in on all the news when we catch up for coffee on Tuesday.

Sorry Zusy been swearing then shopping most of the day, biggest problem with having an indoor dog and floating floors you have to cav and pom the same day. My back is killing me.
Really sweating it out here, have not heard from Poss for at least 24hours and he is meant to be driving home today. I normally call him every couple of hours when he is driving but his phone has been going straight to message bank all day, tried calling his godson same thing. Hoping his phone had died, I am in the phone book!

Well, Alie is covered in grazes - she didn't think she would fall off the long board (a really long skate board) even though she was going really fast down a hill - and she actually didn't 'fall' off, she jumped off rather than go under a car!!! No, she wasn't home she was supposed to be at band practice...

Evening all..
Finally the heater has come out of the shed, yesterday, only because we had dinner guests last evening. ( not that the heater has been on yet)
and the Chinese Laundry has begun, a few items are still a tad damp, from the 3 loads of washing done today.
Now that the line is empty, have just hung out a load of towels, and the sloshy machine is working on the bedsheets
The boy has been told, when the machine stops, he needs to do his bed sheets.

Before coming in and sharing a box of Chocolates (the visitors brought with them) with cuppas.

Morning all. Another beautiful day predicted (high 21C) followed by 3 days of - you guessed it - rain.

MizT, thanks for the advice - I'm going to do just that! I had heard that before but had forgotten. In the long run it will save a lot of back breaking work. You're terrific!!! I don't think I'll be planting many annuals this year.

Heidi, I have 2 peonie bushes (deep pink) and I love them.

Tomorrow is federal election day for us. I'm thinking of not voting or going and fudging the ballot. The party I normally vote for has really ticked me off. I wrote to our MP about my D way back when and was told health care was a provincial matter, not federal. No niceties in the email from him, just that. Now that there's an election, they're "making health care a priority". Too little, too late. And I don't want to vote for any of the other parties.

Suzy, ouch, poor Alie. I've had friction burns before and they're not pleasant!

I am looking after the grandies at 9:00 for about an hour while their parents go shopping. Then I hope to have a day similar to yesterday. Hubby will be home earlier tonight for supper.

Off to have another coffee, but I think I'll have this one outside. See you all in a bit. I love you guys!!!!

Hi all, I'm back. I'm just about ready for bed as I didn't sleep well last night.

I had a wonderful time and my sister didn't want me to leave. We really did have a great sister bonding week. Lots of coffees, lunches, shopping, laughs, serious talks etc. She needed it and I was happy to help out.

We have started to redecorate her lounge room - new sofa, cushions, paintings, throw rugs etc. I wish I was doing one of my rooms.

The weather was great, nice and warm with the occasional shower. I barely needed the winter clothes I took.

I had a run in with an airport security person this afternoon.
Shock, horror, I forgot about the pair of nail scissors I had in my make up bag. Wow, you would think I was the biggest criminal around. I tried to get the bag to give him the scissors and got a "Madam, don't touch that!" What the hell!
Anyway, he took the scissors and I told him to dispose of them. Arrogant twit. Not happy Jan.

Reggie was happy to see me home again.
Of course the first words from #1 were "What's for dinner?"
Tomorrow I'll be grocery shopping. Right now though, my bed is looking really good.
I've lots to catch up on, so luckily it's a public holiday in Brissie tomorrow.

Hi all, glad Poss is home safe. Know what you were going through Broni!
You sound much brighter Theresa. Hope Alie is not too sore. The invincibility of youth!
Sleep well Vicki.Pleased you had a lovely time with your sister. No reason why the airport personnel cannot be pleasant!
Rolanda, I have used the blanket to warm the bed a couple of times!Outside under the heater sounds a nice way to entertain your guests.

I thought twice about watching the tornado video. Not something I needed to watch at the moment. My heart goes out to all those people.
Had a nice dinner last night. We were with Glenn's two daughters. We went to a Chinese restaurant at a local club and Glenn treated us all to dinner. (Glenn from Winter Springs). The magic of sudokuland.
