Tami, such a good way to put the difference between the sites!! Explains it exactly - except that it does occur to me that on the other site we choose who gets to see what we say, here it could be anyone! Weird...

This fly lady thing on the other site is a pain - she's tricky that lady. I have been doing ffuts.. and it's all her fault!

It's lovely to see Mama back again.
Nola, don't stay away so long next time.
Cyn has returned and Gail and Broni are getting better. Woo Hoo.

Just 3 more weeks at our house and then #1 son has finished Uni. He is currently on his final prac/internship.
#1's girl has booked her return flight to Japan - June 15 I finished knitting my second scarf on the weekend and gave it to her. I hope she gets to use it in the next few weeks as she won't need it in Japan as she is flying back to summer.
Scarf #3 has begun - a different pattern this time. I might keep this one for myself depending on how it turns out.

Thanks Victoria for the Birthday wishes ♥

still to finish the first scarf here!
My boy has 3 weeks plus exams still to go at Uni, then a couple of weeks or so later, off to Melbourne to live and work (providing he finds a job).

Good Evening, Fellow Sudokuaholics!

MizT, what a great idea your granddaughter had to find shoes with a heart on the bottom! (I also don't know designer shoes.) MizT, Happy Anniversary to you and Al! A new wedding band is a great anniversary gift! (Our anniversary is today. We went to an all-day woodturning seminar and had McDonalds during the lunch break. You can tell we're very romantic and celebrate events in a big way!)

I think having a pain diary is a great idea, MizT! You can document severity, duration, whether pain relievers helped, maybe even possible triggers, as weather conditions, stress levels.

Gail, your description of how you feel now that you are "better" still sounds pretty awful! Take care of yourself and keep getting plenty of rest and good nutrition!

Heidi, you are so right about the seminar! The woodturner who taught it is named Art Liestman and he's from British Columbia. He has a website with photos of some of his work. He teaches theory of computer science (or something like that) at the university level and turns in his spare time. (His work doesn't look like spare-time objects, and some of his turnings are in galleries and/or owned by major collectors. We have been very lucky this year. Since November we have had Graeme Priddle from New Zealand, Dale Larson from Oregon and now Art Liestman. (I'm pretty sure they all have websites.)

Happy Birthday, Rolanda! Will you have a cake to celebrate - or bunches of flowers?

Both comments make good TOPPS, Gail! Thanks!

Brenda, so sorry it's rainy! I hope you're enjoying your holiday in spite of it!

Nola, it's so good to see you again! Welcome Back! I'm glad Greg has finally heard about the Brisbane appointment! Very frustrating that there was a mix-up with the referrals! It's good that he'll get 4 weeks notice for an appointment, but I hope that happens soon! Wow, your tooth came out in 5 bits! No wonder you're still sore! I hope you'll soon be feeling much better. Congratulations on having all of your assignments completed! Hooray, Nola! I hope your placement goes well, and I hope Greg's appointment is scheduled soon! Prayers for you and Greg and for his sister! I can't imagine losing everything in a house fire once, let alone twice! I hope she'll soon be able to get back on her feet!

Nola, at least you have an excuse for a messy house and dirty windows! Our lives just seem to get busier and busier. Starting with the weekend we are now finishing, we have 6 weekends in a row keeping us busy, plus plenty during the week.

Tami, I hope it's allergies and not a cold! Feel better soon!

Heidi, I'm glad you could attend the Lions state meeting - and get a green budgie on the way home! Is it a male or female? Which color budgie are you hoping to mate it with?

Cyn, did I mention that it's also good to see you back and posting?

I'm so glad you found your way back to us Mamacita! It's been quite a while! I hope you can visit regularly and hope all is well with you and your family! I haven't seen you much on the other page, either. Welcome back!

Suzanne, I hope all is going well with your Mom's recovery! Has she started physical therapy? Will be thinking of her and hope all goes well! Do you have plans for putting your house back on the market any time soon?

Rolanda, what a busy birthday! Did you find any time for yourself? The menu for your birthday dinner sounds yummy - and something to look forward to all week! Happy Birthday!

Thank you for your TOPPS quotes, Suzy! And you're right, Tami did a good job of summarizing the difference between fb and SA! (Thanks, Tami!)

Vicki, well done to S#1! Just 3 more weeks! Will there be a graduation ceremony? Has he begun looking for a job? I hope he will quickly find a nearly "perfect" job! How long will his girl stay in Japan - or is it a permanent move back? (I was thinking she also was working on a college degree and there had been a delay.) Which island is her home on? I hope it wasn't in an area badly affected by the earthquake and tsunami! Lucky girl to receive your second scarf as a gift! When you get us chance, please tell us a bit about scarf #3. Thanks!

Rolanda, only 3 more weeks for your S as well? June will be a busy month! Does he have any interviews arranged yet, or is it still too early? Hope he quickly finds a job that is close to being "perfect!"

By the time I get this posted, it will probably be midnight, so I'm going to wish everyone a wonderful afternoon/evening/night! Here are {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts and prayers and for everyone!

Graduation ceremony is in July (I think). He has already been offered jobs as he is a rarity. There are very few males in the early childhood teaching arena (at one stage he was the only male in the 4 year course). He is thinking about job sharing with the director of the centre he currently works at for 3 days per week. He only needs to save to go to Japan later in the year and get a full time job there.
Akiyo will be back for the graduation but couldn't pass up the opportunity of a $199 fare from the Gold coast to Japan. She has live in Aus for 4 and a half years now with a few holidays home. I think she wants to work in Japan for a while but eventually return here to settle down.
Her family live in Kyoto (south of Tokyo and on the other side to the tsunami).

Scarf #3 is variegated purple/browns called driftwood. Starting with 1 stitch working to 35 in moss stitch and then moss stich for 10 stitches, stocking stitch for 15 and moss stitch for the remaining 10.
This is a big step up for me. Coming along well so far and only uses 2 balls of the wool. We'll see how it turns out.

My mother's mothers day present is late because Alie is painting it. I think she'll be okay with the wait once she sees it!! I've posted a pic of the painting so far. That is chocco, one of my brothers chihuahuas. He died this year. He and his 2 sisters, who will be in the painting too, lived with my mother for over a year while my bro travelled around Australia.

Up early today, so thought I would check in. Yesterday my fingers would not go where directed and my eyes were blurry enough I could not see to correct my typos, so I deleted my comment without posting and took me back to bed. Feeling better today, thankfully, so perhaps no need for the pain killers today, just Tylenol.

Poor Al had to fend for himself yesterday morning. Now how long has he been on feedings made from Carnation Breakfast? Think he might know the recipe. He decided he would just mix milk and Carnation in a large glass and drink as chocolate milk, avoiding the blender. That blender must be a scary appliance for a guy who only runs really big power saws, you think? then there was not much of the Carnation powder in that canister, and he does not know how to open a new one. Only time he tried he pulled the lift tab off leaving the canister sealed. and just got another one that opened easier. Left me to deal with the tabless one later when I found it. So yesterday he did not measure "just used what was left in the canister" (not enough) with more than the usual milk. Oh well, he got some nutrition and I did not have to do it . Men, gotta love them.

I think I got out of bed too early, my yese are closing on me. After yesterday in bed and asleep most of the day, you would think I had enough sleep. But I find chemically indued sleep is not the same as a good night's sleep.

I have missed birthdays and anniversaries, but do want to say HI to Mama and to Nola, so glad to see you back. Hope you have time to spend more often now. Nola, I cannot imagine having to start over the second time after home fires, hubs to your sister or was it sister in law? Most tragic. Do let us know when your hubby gets his appointment, and so sorry it is taking so very long.

Hugs to all our sick friends and special hugs to June and her friend.

Forgot to vent earlier! We live out of town a little. There are 3 ways to get to our house. They recently closed our most direct route to almost everywhere so they could add a pedestrian walk way to it, great idea but the 8km detour feels like 30. Then we realised one of the alternatives was not great because they are doing road works there too - not closed, but a stop/slow man... And today they started work on the last remaining road!!! It's insane!

Hubby has to go to a meeting about 2km from our house tomorrow and will have to drive about 12km to get there... through stop/slow men!

Morning all - at D's place getting the youngest grandie ready for school. Oldest grandie is at dentist's - seems like maybe a tooth is growing behind another adult tooth.

Don't have access to a computer right now unless I am at D's place. I will have a lot to read ...

Happy Birthday Rolanda!!!!!!

Miserable weather here. It's cool and wet. Rain is called for today, tomorrow and Wednesday. It's supposed to be sunny Thursday when we work the cattle, then thunderstorms the next 3 days, at least. We're gonna wash away.

Gekko All,
Weather here is much the same where ever there is lousy weather...we have had thunderstorms, hail, very heavy rain and sunshine alternating during the day and night. Forecast calls for rain throughout the week. My allergies has been fierce thus far this year with lots of pollen in the air, but I react poorly to the rain and wind that washes the pollen away, so I'm catching it either way...but I'm still standing...wheezing yes, but so glad to be back with you guys.
Julie, you still remain the world's greatest summarizer of post. its great for helping folks like me to regain some footing by being able to catch up on things....thank you and belated anniversary greetings..doing what you enjoy together is what its all about!
To you proud mothers...good job on getting your guys to this point in their lives...you have done it well...congrats to the grads for following the great example and expectations set out for them to succeed.
Mz T, hi and a belated annivesary greeting to you and Al...love the new ring to...as someone said...you really have a keeper...wishing you lots of pain free days ahead..fibro is a very difficult and misunderstood disease, so by all means, a pain diary would be a great management tool in your treatment. I have just a very mild case of it, but
I may follow suit.
Suzy...I wouldn't wish your traffic situation on anyone...remember to always take your patience with you when you must drive anywhere...
Well, I've gone as far as my poor addled brain allows for now...just read that the brain may often be asleep, when the person is awake..that describes my current condition well, so I will capitulate, and stop trying to think...Take care,I'm sending healing vibes to all in need and hugs to all that want them...Peace. ♥♥

MizT enjoy your nap.

Cool and sunny here... Or should I say cold.

Brenda, yummy food! I guess when it's raining the only thing to do is eat, why not eat the best??!

Mamacita, I hope the weather and your allergies settle down soon. I have to leave early for everything these days..and it could last for 2 months or more as they are building a new bridge.

Broni, I took photos at each phase of the painting. Wish I could have kept one of each phase.. I think the intermediates are a tad better than the finished product..

Good morning all
Teresa - still laughing about 2 seasons - winter and construction - don't know why but that tickled me!
Vicki - those $199 airfares to Japan from Coolangatta must be the reason Lachlan's school trip to Osaka Japan starts and ends at Coolangatta Airport. They still are awaiting Education Department approval on the whole trip. One part of me knowas a cultural exchange to Japan for 2 weeks is a wonderful experience for a 12 yo - the other wants to wrap him in cotton wool and keep him safe from earthquakes, tsunamis and radiation and anything bad!

Just took Alie to school and the traffic was moving a little better today - because they took away the stop/slow men and added another detour! Driving places I never go at the moment... Hubby drove over 10km to get to a meeting less than 2km from here. Couldn't even walk it because it's blocked to walkers too...
