Morning all,
Tami, feel better! Sorry you joined the ranks of the sickies in here

More birds Heidi? Soon you'll have to extend your sun room!!

Brenda, I've wondered the same thing. I've just put a picture of him on my page.

We didn't want another kitten. Nomnom is irreplaceable. I hope we don't get to keep this one. So far he just eats until he makes himself sick or meows piteously at us. He purred for the first time this morning, but it didn't last.

Hi all. I actually went to my doctor today. I could feel my ears clogging and that didn't feel good. I have the beginning of an ear infection so she gave me antibiotics.

Heidi, enjoy all the new birds. I am sure they will be a wonderful addition to your collection.
Suzy, I also think you will end up keeping the kitten

Thank you Tami, you've reminded me to make an appointment for Alie... I hope the antibiotics help and you feel better soon.

And thank you for the warning Broni.

The cat growls!! Try to pick him up while he's eating and you know about it. He likes to eat until he throws up... This morning he was really pleased to see me, but would not let me pick him up. When it was time to give Alie her 15 minute warning - yes, we are her snooze alarm - I took him with me and said 'see if you can calm him down'. He promptly fell asleep on her. When she had to get up she wanted to put him out with me because he would get lost in her room. She tried to pick him up to bring him out and he growled at her. He is now all snug on Alie's bed...and can stay there as long as he wants!

Tami, hope you feel better soon.
Know I am improving but this thing just keeps on hanging on and the cough is wearing me down.
Zusy, not trying to be a smart A but give the kitten less food so he doesn't make himself sick.

I know Broni, he is on a 'diet' now that we know what he is capable of. First time we've ever had an animal that would do that. The total amount he ate wasn't that huge, but it was obviously too much for such a tiny kitty.

That kitten may be small, but it is a real character! I don't think it's giving you much choice, Suzy. It's staying whether you like it or not!

Tami - hope the antibiotics work and you're feeling much better soon. Broni - the sudden change in our weather up here probably accounts for you not being able to shake that cough.

Greetings and Salutations to All!

Cyn, I better wish you and Col a Happy Anniversary now. My mind has been such a sieve lately that I doubt I'll remember. So, Happy Anniversary, Cyn and Col, and many more! You're right, it's almost harder to let grandies grow up than it was to face our own children growing up.

Suzy, I'm glad I kept reading about the littlest thing that Dana and her new boyfriend were going to bring over. My first reaction was similar, but what a cute little kitten! My prediction is that it will be with you more than a few weeks.

Rolanda, so good to know that your sister is speaking to you again! Enjoy your family lunch tomorrow! Sounds wonderful!

Tami, I wish you were feeling better! Good luck to your students on their end-of-year test on Wednesday! Hopefully you'll be feeling much better by then! (BTW, when does your school year end?)

Rolanda, sounds like a fair trade of chocolate and a cuppa for a glass of wine. Did the K room get tidied up as well?

Heidi, I was thinking you were just getting 1 more Silver Pheasant - didn't realize it was 3 so you would have 2 pairs! Nineteen hours from New Jersey is amazingly quick for the Post Office! And more lovebirds on Friday! Does IH notice the additions? (I can't imagine that he wouldn't notice the Silver Pheasants; they're beautiful!)

Woo Hoo, Brenda! A day without rain and a good amount of sight seeing! I hope you enjoyed your dinner in Pooley Bridge!

Julie... I started out just getting a mate for the male pheasant, but got a good deal on the second pair. IH never notices any new birds. He won't notice these unless I point them out.

I like your TOPP, Suzy!

Tami, I'm sorry about the ear infection, but glad you got an antibiotic to help get rid of it!

Suzy, did I read that this kitten is feral? Maybe that's why he eats until too full and growls. I hope Alie is soon feeling better! Perhaps with the help of an antibiotic?

Broni, I hope you are soon able to shake the cough! That hung on for a long time with the cold/sinus infection hubby and I shared - even after we finished off the antibiotic we finally got. Take care of yourself!

Tami, I enjoyed my visual of the wrestling match! Good for dog and boy! (Hopefully wears out dog!)

Our cat is protesting. In the past couple of weeks, she has decided that she like the chair at the computer, and lets me know that she doesn't think I should use it when she wants to be on it.

I'm going to take a break and grab a late dinner (about 8 p.m. here).

Suzi, that kitten really has issues with foodSome of which might follow him into adulthood. Screech always felt she did not get enough to eat as a kitten, larger siblings pushed her away from the communal food bowl. Till the day she died, if she could see the bottom of her food bowl, she let us know there was a kitty-cat emergency, food needed immediately.

Do you know if your kitten is having bowel movements? If it is young enough, it still needs Mom's help doing that, and a good substitute is a warm face cloth to wipe gently. You might want to make that your oldest face cloth hehehe. Reason I ask is we were parents to an abandoned kitten, family next door moved out with mama cat and some of the kittens, the one we rescued would eat and eat and throw up, one cause it was so hungry and two, cause it was full from end to end, without Mom to help. Got so bad she stopped eating after 2 days. I actually had to give this kitten an enema once I figured out the problem. Tiny kitten, tiny amount but she was able to eat and keep it down after that! Only issue she had with food was, she could hear me rattle the box of kitten chow anywhere in her "territory". That is how I called her to come in hehehe.

I read, but Julie's "sieve brain" is contagious and my thoughts keep falling out. It is late and I am sleepy. Hugs to each of you, with extras to you gals with the cough cough and ear aches and other maladies. boy that sounds as long lived as what I had last winter, the one that took 3 different antibiotics till they found the one that would kill it. Nasty bacterial infection. Al's chemo doc is the one who let me know what anti I needed, too many of her staff had it, so she had cultures run on several and found out what worked on those bad germies.

I am ramblin'. Say good night Tricia.

Suzy, a good guess why the bonus payment of food benefits so quickly after the storm. With Hurricane Katrina, FEMA (federal emergency management) were severely criticized at how much they spent and how little they did for the people in need. Huge amounts of waste. New director and management now. They are trying to improve their image.

No sign of Demetri, but there do appear to be new footprints in his box.

MizT, he has done a tiny number 2, I don't know what is normal for a little kitty, and when I can find him - I'm out again shortly, I will follow your welcome advice! I really appreciate it!!

Poor kitty!!! Somehow or other he had managed to climb inside the blanket on Alie's bed. It's a double layer thing. He finally mewed at me when I called and I was lifting the blanket and throwing it around trying to work out where the noise was coming from. Then I noticed the heavy corner - poor little bugger! I grabbed scissors and he is now free..

Hi all, plenty of snow in the high country and have had a couple of days where we have been in the snow from last week. They are expecting more snow next week. We are staying below the snow line. Weather has been good, lots of good food and company. Enjoyed the first couple of days but feel ready to go home now, especially as it is a free afternoon.

Connection is slow here so i have not read any comments. Just by Suzy's last one I gather you have a new kitten.
I have taken some good photos but not sure when I will get time to do anything with them.
I have spoken to Sharon a few times and I think she willl be pleased when we are home again.
