Greg has finally heard something about the Brisbane appointment for the brain cyst.Apparently they didn't receive 2 referrals (either the Dr here or the hospital have it wrong)so he is now catagory 1 urgent, and they will let him know 4 weeks in advance for the appointment. I wish we could still afford private health but it is impossible at the moment.
I had a double tooth out last Mon and still have a sore mouth.It came out in 5 bits.
Gregs sister's house burn down and she is left with her dog, the chooks in the backyard and the clothes she had on. This is not the 1st time she has lost everything in a house fire either. Very bad luck!

I don't know what to say about your SIL. That's horrible. I met a woman who lost everything in a fire, the advice she gave me was to use my grandmother's quilt and love every minute of it. I hope your sister in law isn't too discouraged and is back on her feet soon.

Still here Suzy. All assignments are finished but I will be gone for a month later on for placement.
Hope it settles down with the kids.Sometimes I used to think it would be great to be self-sufficient and live on an island away from all the worries of social life. Pity that I couldn't kill anything to survive. We moved up here to be close to family and the bonus was a smaller town.We enjoy visiting the city but much prefer the quieter lifestyle.

That was kind of the idea here too Nola. Unfortunately the town has changed. A big marker for me is that we now have 2 pawn shops and a short term loan place...

Congratulations on finishing your assignments by the way! Did it feel like a huge weight had been lifted off your shoulders???

Oh it sure did Suzy. I am kinda lost at the moment as so much of my time was doing them. For 2 weeks now,we haven't even had class's so I have caught up on some sleep and done a bit in the garden.Sleep pattern is still early to bed after work, early to rise to do them. The house has really suffered and I am ashamed to say, that it has never been so dirty but I hope to remedy that eventually.
Greg has shampooed the bedroom carpets and I have thrown away a stack of stuff to de-clutter.
The windows are next on my list...really bad after not being touched for so long.

I have to spoil my day off by doing some shopping this morning followed by a mandatory fire evacuation at work this afternoon. At least I get paid for the 1 hour it takes.

My front garden looks good but the courtyard is still a disaster! I find the problem is that you need money to fix gardens and if you are working to earn the money you don't have the time...

Windows... now that's something that needs doing here too. Guilty feelings as I have no excuse!

What a bummer about the fire evacuation - they couldn't have timed it for when you would already be there! Murphy's at it again.

June - what a nice idea to go to see 'Mary Poppins' - when I was looking after sick grandies recently and suffering through kids TV - I actually saw something about that production and the girl playing Mary - thought it looked wonderful. Nice memories to have.

Mama, welcome back. Even though I see you on the other page, it is not the same. That is like a big auditorium and this is more like an intimate dinner party. We can all say things, and share things, here that we would not say or share over there.

Well I have been doing some more reading and perhaps I came back too soon with all of the coughing, sniffling and worshiping at the throne issues you folks have been dealing with, Teressa's loss and June's family loss as well...but this is such a resilient group of folks, I think I'll stick around.

Called FFS Mama,(Fat Finger Syndrome) I was typing Hello one day and it came out as Gekko and of course I didn't proof read before I hit submit.

Ahhhhh Broni...might have guessed...since I too often suffer from FFS, I can well understand...so Gekko it is...well done gurl...
