Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

June, you are right that I have the dress - went for a fitting this week with the sandals that "look like you're going to the beach." The dress is floor length, though I'd like it to be about an inch above - yet to be decided. D is sure my shoes will show. I don't think anyone will be looking at my feet as I am escorted in - and hopefully not looking at me but looking toward the beautiful bride waiting in the wings. I did promise that I wouldn't wear athletic shoes, though a friend suggested I cover a pair in sequins and wear them.

June, I can understand that S would beg you to go on the planned holiday. I think she is much like her mother and thinking of everyone but herself. None of us can presume to offer a suggestion. We know that you and hubby will do what you think is best. I just hope that no matter what decision you make, you remember to take care of yourselves in the months ahead and make as many happy memories as you can for all of you.

Oooh, Tami! I'm a bit green thinking about you at Islands of Adventure. I love all things Harry Potter! Be sure to think of us as you get your first taste of butter beer. (I'm thinking of a "buttery" root beer.) We expect a full report over the weekend!

Heidi, OMG, I hadn't even realized it's now Friday the 13th here! Thanks for the reminder!

Rolanda, enjoy your weekend! Hope the weather is perfect!

Seems we have a couple of birthdays coming up.

Hello, my lovelies - sorry I haven't been around in a while - my grandies gave me their nice little virus while I was looking after them - oh, so kind.
I hope all is well with everyone - I may not have been here but I have been thinking of you all. Big hugs all around, especially to those who may need them!

Good for you Cyn, the 13th is nearly over, stay safe. Hope that virus/flu is finally breaking for you too. It was Gail who gave it to us!(You didn't Glen 20 the computer I bet)
June, my gut is telling me you need a break, you can still be in contact with your friend on the internet/phone/skype/messenger. Perhaps she needs some 'time out' too. Still here for you my friend and I hope to be down your way in a month give or take, so hopefully can catch up.

June, I don't have the words to say how I feel about your news. I can't remember where you have booked for your break but I agree with Gail and Broni that you should probably still go. I'm sure your family has Skype (as you do) and you can keep in touch often. ((HUGS)) to you and the whole family.

I'm supposed to be packing to go away on Saturday. It's only 9am so still have lots of time. I wanted to rearrange the cars on the drive so that the three cars in use each could be taken off the drive without having to move another car. This meant moving the Lexus to where the caravan used to stand. The battery was flat so now that is on charge. My next challenge was to put cardboard packing (from the bedroom furniture) into the Volvo to take to the tip guess what.... the battery was flat. Never mind I will do all these chores, plus taking the old freezer to the tip after we come back from holiday.

Evening all,
Weird day today, could not get my brain in gear. Kind of like I was off on another planet. Oh well... it's nearly over.

Brenda, you know you have too many cars when the batteries go flat! No wonder you are planning on converting 2 to 1!

Gekko all.
The replacement heifers are coming home today. All the calves from 2010 were sent to a friends to be fed, and the non-keepers sold a few months ago. He kept the keepers at his place to feed them for better growth until it was time to breed them. It's now time.

June, I can understand your thoughts on this situation. but it seems to me that Sharon is right on this one, you should go on your trip. You and she both need time to "wrap your head around" this. You also need to take care of you, and a trip away right now might do you good. Later, you will have responsibilities that would prevent a trip. Go on this one without guilt and enjoy. You have already done plenty to "deserve it".

Brenda, have you started the packing yet??

Heidi, how many heifers do you have coming home today? How big are they now?

I liked the idea of sequins on athletic shoes myself, hehehe. Does your daughter not realize you have problems and need the support shoes and compression stockings? Could you tell her it is not your poor taste that is making these shoe and stocking decisions, that you would love to wear the pretty little shoes being sold now, and you are sad that you can no longer wear them, but you are picking shoes out of medical necessity?? I would be asking my daughter if she would be ashamed of me if I had to attend her wedding via wheelchair, that these shoes were as necessary for me as a chair for someone who could not walk. But then I can be rather b*thcy on occasion heheheh.

Heidi, you are getting the rain we expected this morning. I have not even looked to see where our rain is. At the moment it seems the nearest rain that would affect us is over on the Mississippi line, headed this way. I am ready for it, it is hot and humid and my grass needs watering.

I hope the T storms soon pass, and that the dogs are not too upset about it. Shall we order enough dry windy weather after this for the ground to begin to dry for you??

Suzy we are not converting 2 to 1 car but 3 to 2. We got the new Citroen last November, a company vehicle, but we already had two cars of our own plus daughter has a car too. Once all the buying and selling has been done we will have 3 cars on the drive and a bit of room for two visitors cars.
It isn't that big a drive but is wide and with careful parking can accommodate the vehicles.

Morning all,
Brenda, I understood that about the cars, the 3 into 2 thing, but didn't express myself well! Told you my brain wasn't working yesterday!! Let's hope it is functioning a little better today.

Right now it's feeling a little cranky. I was just sorting Alie's laundry and found a whole bunch of clean clothes in there. Guess who is learning why you don't put clean clothes in the wash this weekend? Sorry about the swearing, it's my cranky brain.

I woke up very early this morning and thought - great! I'll look for the planets and spend some time offpeak surfing the net. Might have worked if the net would connect properly!! Superfast connection, no network. I haven't been able to figure that one out yet... Of course now that my offpeak time is over, the connection is here.

Julie, I agree with the others who think you should wear whatever shoes are comfortable. I think your daughter is being unreasonable. It's not like you're wearing a knee length dress!

Suzanne, glad the surgery went well. Breathe out now...

Suzy, I did not look till after 6am today and could only see two and watched a plane fly between them.
On about 21-24 Jupiter will be much higher in the sky but the other three will be closer together and rising earlier. I saw them all yesterday.

Good Night all. it is almost bedtime here. There is one more line of t storms to go through, but I am not waiting up on them. The one this afternoon brought pea sized hail, boy that was noisy on the tin roof of the back porch! Did not last long, and my grass got a good watering.

We were going to wal mart and then to a jewelers, Looking for me a replacement wedding band. I have not worn mine since surgery a year ago, that hand is still swollen. I want just a plain band and hubby to put in on my finger, just like he did when we were married. I might inquire what it would cost to have my wedding and engagement ring enlarged, but fear it would be more than buying just a plain band. We will see.

Anyhow, we were goin g today, I started for the shower just as the rain and hail started falling, thought I should wait in case it became severe and we had to go to dome. I fell asleep in my chair, so decided a nap would be good. Got up from my nap to find Al taking a nap, so, I went back to bed. I had a Heidi sized nap today hehehe, almost 4 hours.

Good luck to the DUGs who are looking for the planets. Are they extra bright, or just located together or what?

Heidi, congrats on finding a mate for the pheasant. May I offer best wishes to the new couple?

Brenda, you must indeed have a long and wide drive to get that many vehicles parked there. Not sure I could park that many in my back yard parking area and it is big hehehe. Our drive is very narrow, so no parking cars there, must be in the parking area in back.

Suzanne, great news, hope your Mom improves quickly with her therapy.

Enough for tonight, love and hugs to all with extras for June and her friend.

Gekko, Lovely Ladies!

Cyn, we're so glad you have recovered and are feeling better! While it's lovely for grandies to share, we prefer that they not share their germs and viruses! (BTW, we missed each other by about 8 minutes.)

I tend to agree with Broni, Gail, Brenda and MizT that recharging batteries would be a very good plan, June! {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

Brenda, it seems that those chores were not meant to be done on Friday the 13th!

Heidi, what a good plan to send the 2010 calves to a friend for optimal feeding. I have forgotten the length of gestation, but I think breeding now means calves in Feb.-March.

MizT and Suzy and others, D truly understands the necessity for comfortable shoes and compression stockings and says she wants me to be comfortable. She isn't being unreasonable. It's just that I can hear a slight indication in her voice that she wishes it could be otherwise. Her future MIL and grand MIL are Texas ladies - petite, proper, beautiful make-up and well dressed - all things that I am not. Heck, I'd like to wear a cute pair of strappy heels too, but "it is what it is," as a few of us here like to say.

Brenda, good for you for being mostly packed! I hope you have a wonderful and restful holiday!

Suzanne, so good to hear that your Mom's surgery went well! Wishing her a quick recovery and excellent physical therapist!

Welcome home, heifers! Heidi, I'm glad it's just 6 returning and that they're quickly readjusting to your farm.

Suzy, no wonder you're cranky with your fickle internet connection! I hope that gets straightened out quickly for you! AAARRGH! Don't you hate it when clean clothes get mixed in with the dirty! Yep, time for her to learn how these things work!

Heidi, I hope the female Silver Pheasant and the male adjust to each other quickly and you will have little Silver Pheasants in a reasonable time!

Guess I've missed information about the proximity or brightness of the planets, June and Suzy! Maybe it's only visible in the southern hemisphere.

MizT, I think you really needed those naps! Al did too! I hope you'll find a nice wedding band when you get the chance to shop. With the price of gold right now, I'm guessing it would be costly to resize your original rings!
