This IS a good day for me. I talked IH into driving tomorrow so I don't have to clean out my truck (tho' it desperately needs it). First thing in the morning, I'll get some cash for betting at the track, then relax and enjoy myself.

Harley has decided he wants to be a lap dog. He likes to put his front paws on my lap and see what I am doing. Had a good time at the dinner. I wore pants and a nice shirt. Got there to find out it had a Hawaiian theme. I don't care. The first part was appetizers and looking at the different booths. The dinner was for the PTA (parent teacher association) so a lot of it was showing the fundraisers. I ended up with samples of 3 chocolate bars, a candle, air freshener for the car, smencils (smelly pencils), some pens and a coupon book that usually sells for $20. I used a lot of the coupons when I had the book before so that was worth the price. I also got other coupons but not sure if I will use them.

Time for bed. See you all in the morning.

Just popping in for a few minutes. Greetings to all!

Broni and Suzy finished off page 84 for us.

Broni, thanks for asking about Dimitri, as it had slipped my mind.

Suzy, it sounds like he is becoming more acclimated. Will he be an indoors only cat - or will he have the option to go in and out?

I have some ffuts yet to do that I should attend to before the night is done! Sending , positive thoughts, {{{{{HUGS}}}}} and prayers for all. Please share them as needed. In case I don't get back on tonight before heading to slumberland, Good Night!

Hi everyone, hope this finds you well.

Love and hugs to you all.

I have to go put the shopping away...least favourite part of shopping I think! It was fairly obvious that we haven't shopped properly for about a month, this shop cost two arms and a leg!

So tired I can barely type... helping a friend to move... I did 5 or 6 carloads. By that I mean the seats are folded down so the car holds a LOT and everyone has their own car so you pretty much load and unload your car on your own. Hubby also did 5 or 6 carloads, another friend did 3, and the new home owners did the same. Hubby also helped unload the heavy stuff from the truck they hired. I can barely move, he must be worse, and we were supposed to be at a housewarming party an hour ago....

There are very few people I would work that hard for!

Morning all ... I'm back!

Not too much has happened the last few weeks.

My sister's MIL passed away last week. She had given up the will to live quite some time ago, so it was not a surprise. I only met her a few times over the last 40+ years.

The cat rescue that I used to do volunteer work for came and picked up 2 non-feral cats from here last week. I had only phoned for advice because one of them was very sick, and the next thing I know she was at my door to pick them up. She keeps me posted and it looks like the sick one is going to make it. I haven't done volunteer work there in over a year - life just got too busy.

We just bought a new lawnmower last night - now we just have to wait for the rain to stop. The grass is very long and hasn't been cut yet this year. Our 7 day weather forecast calls for rain every day. MAKE IT STOP!!!! This is a long weekend and typically the "planting" time for us. Not this year I guess.

Gotta go and grab a coffee. It is not raining right at the moment (stormed last night) so I will go and sit on D's porch with my coffee. Catch you all later.

Morning all. Coffee is ready. Help yourself.
Theresa, thanks for stopping in and saying hi. Glad your daughter is doing better. Walking 3 blocks sounds like a lot It was nice of the cat rescue to rescue the cats.
Suzy, we all have one or two friends we would that form I am sure they would do the same for you if needed.
Gail, I hate putting the shopping away also.
Bean, I understand about not being able to restock. I try to keep it stocked so I don't have to do a major job. I have an extra freezer in the garage so I try to buy on sale or in bulk, which is cheaper.
Heidi, enjoy the race today. We will be watching on TV and rooting for Animal Kingdom, Dylan's choice in the Kentucky Derby.

Theresa..... As soon as you mentioned getting a new lawn mower, I immediately thought of Suzy's lawn mower, and wondered why you bought a horse.
I'm having the same problem with the grass and the rain. It isn't stopping long enough to mow, and the lawn looks like a hay field.

Tami..... I'll probably bet some money on Animal Kingdom today..... he definitely looks like the best in the field. I still like Shackleford, but I think he needs to be run in shorter races. He'll probably be the pace setter again today.
I need to go and unload a truck freezer from the back of IH's truck for him. Why, I don't know. Maybe he thinks someone will steal this 6 foot long, 3 foot wide and 4 foot high, HEAVY, freezer from the bed of his truck while he's parked at the Downs. Hmmmmm.... maybe I can convince him to use their valet parking so it'll be guarded instead.

I might as well do a CP.

I'll be leaving for the races at 10:30..... that's 1/2 hour after the new page on Easy opens. I'll have to pop in there quickly to supply the puzzle-of-the-day before leaving.

The sunroom/ bird room is VERY noisy these days. The current population is 18 Lovebirds, 15 Budgies, 2 Splendid Parakeets, 2 Canaries, 3 Mannakins and 40 something Gouldian Finches. They sing, twitter, chirp, screech and warble constantly. I LOVE it!

Have fun today, Heidi. Your sunroom sounds therapeutic.

The sun is out right now, but it's too wet outside to get anything done. There's a 60% chance of rain and a risk of a thunderstorm. Hope the forecast is wrong ... I can dream, can't I?

Heidi, have fun at the race today. I know it is something you look forward to each year.

Theresa, good to see you back again. Daughter's progress is amazing, I know you are happy. Are the grandies behaving a bit better as Mom improves? Has an appointment for counceling been made for the oldest?

Tami, sorry you have to stay after school today! hehehe Thanks for the coffee, I need it this morning.

Gail, I hate putting away the shopping, too. I hate going shopping, reading labels, sseeing the shocking prices, putting it into and out of the shopping cart, putting it into and bringing it in from auto, the whole 9 yards. Did I mention I hate shopping??

I slept in after a restless night, I am off for coffee and hope to have a slow and easy day today. Everyone take care, and beware 6 PM today (May 21) OH, it has already been 6 PM in Australia? Gives me hope.

MizT, D is waiting for the psychologist to call them. The oldest is not improving in attitude - at times it seems to be worse.

My mind is not functioning - what is the significance of May 21 at 6:00 PM?

Theresa, it may not have made Canadian news reports, but there is a man here in the USA predicting the biblical rapture tonight, I also heard something about his prediction of a huge earthquake that "will make Japan's earthquake and tsunami seem like a Sunday picnic". It was on our local news last night and they said it is on the internet and FB too. I had heard nothing of it till last night. My first thought was, gee, they did not give us much warning

A good sleep last night after a busy day. Started off at netball (Laura learning the basics). Then went to my sister's as she was minding her 2 year old grand daughter. Then to daughter's place to pick her up and bring her to my place but her neighbour knocked on the door to ask Laura to their son's 5th birthday party. After that daughter stayed at home and I did some shopping on the way home, bringing Laura back here.
I still have not had time to unpack my bag or do any washing.

Broni, good to know you are still around down under. I did look up this prediction, was to be 6PM LOCAL time, and with the wonderful technology of today we were to witness the end of the world one time zone at a time.

Happy to know it has not happened. This Preacher Camping predicted same thing back in the 90's, then said that was a OOOPS due to mathematical error. Wonder what he will say tomorrow???

Morning all, I read that it was going to roll around the time zones one after the other, like a huge tsunami. Here it is 22 May and we're all still here! One article I read described exactly how he came up with the date.

http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2011/05/22/3223394.htm?section=justin

That's one of the 'after' stories.

It occurs to me that if nobody has been taken up to heaven, there might not be any 'good' people around.

Dimitri is a pain in the A. At 600g I think he was too young to leave his mother and he won't leave us alone! Alie stayed home to study yesterday while we were helping with the move (I've never lifted so many heavy boxes in one day in my life before!) and she said no matter what she did or where she went he followed her and climbed up onto her.
