Morning all,
After several attempts I was finally able to register at JJJ and rate the girls' songs. I've told them they should tell the school and see if they can get the competition promoted there since the school would get to have the huge concert.

Not really here, getting the ffuts done that I didn't get done on the weekend because I was helping my friends.

Theresa, I think it was a great idea to register for the pension early - here you are penalised for working no matter how old you are, in fact, if you have saved a lot of money over the years, you don't even qualify anymore!! Work that one out..

The weather is miserable here but I have to try to get some clothes dry. We are running out of things to wear! No rain yet, but a cold wind and lots of clouds.

I've forgotten everything I read on the last page now...

Theresa, I'm not even sure what curd is and so poutine doesn't sound very nice to me.

Cyn, I heard good reviews for Water for Elephants. I hope to see it, but will probably have to wait until it's on DVD.

June, if we end up paying for fixing him etc I think I will make her pay us back before she is allowed to take him! She's a money pit that girl. When we told her about Alie's gig on Friday we said 'Do you have $20? If you do you should go and see her.' Yes, I have $20, we'll be there. On the night - do you have $20, I'll pay you back next Friday?

My kitty is trying to have my arm for dinner. He is wrapped around it and chewing on it. Oops, didn't like the way I moved it to type so he is now balanced on my shoulder - favourite place.. He's not going to like it when I finally get up to do ffuts...

Tami, a busy day but all fun things...

Now I had better get moving - don't wanna!!

Suzy, remember the nursery rhyme "little miss muffet" Curds are part of cheese. Curds are the solid part and whey is the liquid part. They are like little cheese balls.

hi Everyone!
I checked Forever Archie out, Suzy. They sound good.
I'm the only one at work at the moment. Half staff today and the other half has now gone out! I might pull out my knitting.
I had my usual weekend. My mother on Saturday (that went well) and MIL on Sunday (Oh Lord, that was terrible). My husband has the patience of a saint because I was prepared to leave.
I had a haircut on Friday so now I'm sporting 3 colours in my hair - copper, caramel and blonde- along with my mousy brown and grey highlights.

I'm looking forward to meeting Saylz at Broni's this weekend. I think he might be hoping he came at a different time of the year.
We have just had a front come through and the rain was nearly blowing horizontally. After it moves through the temps will drop to about 10C overnight which is fairly cool for Brissie.

Suzy, I could not figure out that site to rate the band. I did get to listen to them though, I got that far hehehe. Those girls are sounding good, and hope they win whatever it is they are competing for.

Joy came down for a bit today. Needed to do a load of laundry and have some home cooking hehehe, oh, with leftovers to take home. Tonight only leftovers were 2 pieces of fried cornbread, something she said I made a lot when she was small. She had to have a piece soon as she came in, before dinner. Do your offspring revert to children when they come to visit, at least a bit?

time to go and wait for the sand man, nite-nite all.

My sister will be coming up in a fortnights time for a mental health break. Her partner's two sons are staying with them and the oldest has "issues". Between them and her continual stream of visitors, I think she needs a break.

Hubby and I will be having the day together on Friday. After I have my mammogram and before the dog's annual visit to the vet we may even have time for a coffee. Oh, that's right he promised to visit his mother as well and take her some prawns. It sounds like a fun day all round.

Vicki, you got a LOT posted in the 10 minutes between posts. Suzy's was the last I saw till mine went through. Hope you enjoy the meeting at Broni's this weekend. Now, do you know, who has hosted the most gatherings, Gail, or Broni or one of the others, can't remember all the hostess at the moment.

Gail has had more at her place. Even I have been there twice.
Back from 'friends' place. Not having a good day. Could not even keep water down.
I cut back the large hibiscus at the back so that we can take down the works of the clothes line. Bought new line today, but it is a big job attaching and winding it around the drum. It stretches 11 metres over the back yard. (I have always done it before but my hands are not nimble enough now)

I am back from the sleepover and now I can't sleep. Grandie started missing her mother around 10:00 PM and wanted me to call her to say she had changed her mind about the drive-in. She told me I was nothing like her mother. Good thing she's cute. She didn't fall asleep until around midnight.

Suzy, I really like Forever Archie's music. Wow!

Off to get something to eat, maybe watch a bit of TV. TTFN.

Hello, Everyone!

I don't think I made it here yesterday and I know I didn't today! What a crazy/busy weekend! We just got home (after 1 a.m) and need to be up about 6 a.m. so I'm just popping in to say hello! Maybe, just maybe, I'll have time to get here tomorrow to do some reading & commenting.

Positive thoughts and prayers, and {{{{{{HUGS}}}}} for Everyone! Good Night!

Heidi, I noticed too that Suzy said her kitty.

Just heating up some soup.

I noticed on TV they were talking about the possibility of tornadoes in the Chicago area - hope they steer clear of the area Julie lives in. I thought one time she mentioned she was about an hour's drive from Chicago, but I could be mistaken. Take care, Julie.

June, hugs.

I guess that answers my question - I think Julie would have mentioned a tornado if one was present. Hi Julie, goodnight Julie.

Theresa, I just read a huge tornado hit Joplin Missouri with injuries and fatalities. It is said to have hit a hospital, blowing out windows, piling autos in the parking lot into one tangled mess. Hospital patients were evvacuated to other locations. They had only minutes warning to get as many patients as possible into hallways and interior spaces. Entire neighborhoods wiped away, with no landmarks to tell where anything was.

This seems as destructive as the ones that hit here in the south last month, I hope it was not as widespread. thoughts and prayers to those who are homeless tonight and all the first responders who are searching for victims and survivors.

June, so sorry your friend was having such a bad day today. Prayers and wishes that things improve later in the day, and that tomorrow is a better day. Hugs to you all.

Mother Nature's acts have been terrifying. MizT, approximately how many tornadoes a year touch down in the area where you live? Is that why the dome was built?

Afternoon all - yes, I noticed Suzy's 'slip' about 'my kitty'! You're hooked girl.
Yes, poor Broni does all the Sudoku entertaining up here in Brissie. I think she enjoys it (do you, Broni?) and she and Pete are great hosts, also means - drink what you like, no driving. I would offer to have the gatherings at my place but there's not enough Valium in the world to get me through. That said, I would step in if Broni needed me to!

I guess 'curd' is like cottage cheese here in Oz - but it seems strange to put that on hot chips and then gravy as well - yechh! But then we eat meat pies with sloppy peas, don't we?

Had lunch with a friend at Sirromet Winery today - we shared a wonderful Antipasto Platter with a lite white wine each, followed by coffee and cake - followed by a fierce storm that dropped the temps by 5deg in 5 mins and we could not leave until it eased off. I was lucky, only had a 5 min drive home, she had about 30 mins to her place. There was even hail but so small it didn't damage our cars.

Vicki, Mothers and MIL's, sending you strength, been there done that! All mine (yep had a couple) are all at peace now.
Zusy, missed 'my kitty' but lol when Heidi mentioned it.
June, hang in there girl we are with you, come and vent often.
Dag wins the award, those girls have gatherings every month now, not like us slack Queenslanders. But.....Amelia is coming up July I think, so here we go again.
Cyn(will not tell you what my typo of your name was!) Yes, I love having you guys around and love and I do have the venue for entertaining. Having a drinky and not having to drive is a bonus. Stress levels have reduced with each gathering, will not tell you about the swearing I have done so you better notice! But have had more time since not working to do my Autumn cleaning.
Julie and MizT, wishing you good sleep.
Cannot remember anything else so......
Love and hugs to you all.

Cyn, wash your mouth out! Sloppy peas are a no no!! Never ever!! (I thought it was mushy peas and I thought it was British..)

I figure the number of times I've had to clean up after him he is mine, at least for now..

June, hugs and wishes that tomorrow will be a better day...

Theresa, you're not meant to be anything like her mother - you're her grandmother! It's completely different.

Vicki, I hope you have a great time with your sister and she gets the break she needs. Your day with your hubby sounds more like a minute or two with just the two of you...

How long is tornado season? Will you get a break from them soon?

Suzy, I love mushy peas, though for some reason I cannot make them the way my mother did. Are sloppy peas different? When I read Cyn's comment I thought of mushy peas. I cannot see the kitty going back to Dana. If she has to borrow $20 to go out how on earth can she afford to keep a pet. We all know pets cost more to keep than we expect.
My niece in Canada was always complaining that she was broke, but she still went out and got a dog and I think at least two cats.
Off my soap box now.
June hope your friend is a little better tomorrow, my heart goes out to you and the rest of the family right now.
