Just finished getting a few groceries - only as much as I could carry. Haven't done any yard work yet - just too hot for my liking. I think I'll wait until after supper when our yard is shadier. Hubby is working tonight, so I will have lots of time. Now to put the few groceries away, with the help of my furry friends. They are so nosy.

I agree with MizT, June - that reading is not conducive to sleep. Hugs.

Good Morning all!

June, I'm like you.. Menowhat ... no symptoms, just stopped at around mid to late 40's. Lucky us.
Rolanda, I'd be happy for the boys (and girl) to leave home but I think Japan is a bit far for the first to go. At least your's is still living in Australia.
#2 won't go far even when he does leave the nest. His mates all live around here. I'm in no hurry for him to leave. We need someone to look after the dog when we go away for weekends.

I'm baaaacccckkkk!! I found a great way of having a visitor free day. The students had to return a form signed by their parent. I got to babysit the kids without the form. No form, no visitors The form was a media release allowing photos/interviews.

Tami, good solution for you, no visitors. I knew if there was a way, you would find it hehehe.

Broni, when you locate your brain, will you see if mine is there also?

I had to drive to small town nearby to pay my water bill. It was past dew, cause it was due when I had that flare from he77. I noticed on the way down there, about 15 miles I imagine, all but 2 of them cross country through poature land, nice drive, but I noticed my eyes were getting blurry. On way back, not only blurry, I was getting shakey and sweaty, OK, enough clues, blood sugar dropped, wonder why? OH it is almost 4 PM and I forgot lunch,? That will do it. Luckily there was one convenience store and gas station on the road (garage for the Brits, what do Aussies call it?) I got my package of M and M candies and a pint of milk. 4 of the little candies get sugar started back up, milk will keep it there. Sat there a while, and trip on to pharmacy and grocery again went OK.

I wanted pasta salad with faux crab. found the veg for the salad and a big bag of lettuce and tomatoes in the mark down cart, cheap dinner tonight. It will be a garden salad with crab since I have the lettuce, NO GNIKOOC for me.

Al is not eating again. Said nothing tastes right. I gave him a bite of crab au grautin other night, you should have seen the face he made, must have tasted terrible. I am wondering just how long it takes for taste buds to return function.

We are under tornado watch for another 4 hours or so. It looks like a storm front that will generate a lot of tornados.... it has a nasty rotation to it.

Hi Broni, don't work too hard for this weekend. You know that we will be too busy chatting to notice anything else. I'm looking forward to meeting Saylz and Mrs S. Who else is coming other than Cyn, Grasshopper and me?

Here a gas station is where you get gas, and a garage is where you get your car fixed.

Good morning friends. :)

Hugs to everyone who's unwell or going through bad times. ♥

Rob's birthday yesterday, and I took a chance on a nearby restaurant - haven't been to this one for a long time - it was lovely! So glad. :)

Woke up in the night with a very nasty headache, had to take pills - still not too good, but better than before. Hope it's just a passing thing. :(

Still looking for birthday pressies for Rob - his list had 4 books I haven't seen anywhere, and booze ... he seems to get harder to buy for every year! Will be going out with the kids on the weekend - that will be nice. :)

And that's about all from me ... :)

Good morning all
Meno - what? You girls were lucky. I had to wait until my mid 50's - hot flushes - the lot. Finally finished around 60! (Gosh I hope no men read this!)
When I was a kid, we called them garages but it had changed to Service Stations where we stock up on petrol as opposed to 'gas'. We also referred to 'garages' as where we parked the car under cover at home - I notice these days a lot of people call them 'sheds' which to me is where we store tools, mowers and junk that I've told Col to get out of the house.

Good night friends, just finished watching a movie with AL and now for bed.

Hope the tornado watch is canceled, and that line of storms headed your way turned into just garden variety rain. Feel better soon Heidi.

Broni, when is the big to-do at your house? I can't find my invitation to check hehehe.

Judy, glad the restaurant worked out nicely. A belated

To Rob.

Thanks for all the answers about service stations. I never type that without thinking of my British friend whom I met at our quilting meeting some years ago. It was garage, but pronounced Gay'-raj with a short a, lovved hearing her say that.

See you all tomorrow, good night and hugs.

Just checked Heidie's weather radar, to torandoes at the moment, nothing severe. They are still under a Tornado Watch (weather right for tornadoes to form). Boy is she going to get a soaking tonight. Just what she needs, more rain!!

It's coming down in buckets again, with lots of thunder and lightning. We've been spared tornados so far, tho' Indianapolis had some. They have extended the tornado watch until 5 am, tho'. There's no point on going to sleep since the dogs are freaking out again and won't let me sleep. I'm up reading instead.

Evening all,
Hope you are all as well as can be expected or better! Everyone with a cold or flu I hope you are getting lots of sleep and it goes away soon.

Good news I think. It looks like Dana has qualified for benefits so is not likely to be asking to come home now. Hubby has invited her for dinner but we don't know if she can make it yet.

Vicki, you're just bragging with that phone call from #1! How do you do it? Pity card, fear, or do they just love you??

MizT, I'm so glad your friend is okay. That would have been nerve wracking. As would going all blurry while you were driving home. I'm glad you worked it out and fixed it before it got any worse.

Gail, was today a better day?

Rolanda, I know you will miss #2, even though he drives you mad, because I also think that is too far. Says me, who moved to another country!

June, she isn't going to school. She doesn't seem to be doing anything. She says she is going to TAFE, but if she is she has worked out how to be invisible. Nobody has seen her at work in weeks. She's on the net all night long so must sleep all day...

Heidi, your tornado watch would be over for now. Hopefully all is well.

I'm running out of oomph and I still have a page to go. Now I know how Julie feels, only she's better at this.

Now that I'm way down the bottom of the post I will tell you a secret. I took Alie to the radio station to drop off her CD today. The girls were hoping they might play one of their songs. The DJ came out and said he wanted to organise for the girls to go on a segment called unplugged and play their song live on the radio!!! Of course he hasn't listened to the CD yet...

Sorry MizT, almost lost your question like my brain today...PS: Still haven't found yours yet either.
We are having a gathering on Saturday for Saylz (David and Janet). Weather forecast is a bit iffy so have purchased an outdoor gas heater for my side deck if only to keep the cook (possum) comfortable while he cooks and we stay inside.

Suzy, don't worry. When #1 asked that question I nearly fell off my chair.
At the moment I have him peeling prawns. I refuse to do that.
He rang me today to tell me that the centre he is working at for his final prac has asked him to do relief work there. Between that and his job share at the other centre, he might even earn enough to pay board. Actually, the minute he gets his first pay I'll be asking for his board.

I hate peeling prawns too but I'm better at it than hubby thanks to lessons from my grandfather many many years ago, so I usually get stuck with it!
