I'm really disappointed that 200 million "Christians" (aka self-righteous loonies) did not leave us. The world might have been a better place. I agree that they deserved to be bilked of their savings for being so gullible. There are very few "Christians" who actually deserve the name. Most do not follow the teachings of Christ, a kind, open minded, tolerant man.

Good Maen everyone! I am giggling about the yahoo on the news about 'rapture'. Give me a BREAK!!!! According to one of the shows on the History Channel about the Mayans, we have till December next year!! Whew! LOL
Thanks again for all the input, I did the pro/con list (as suggested by TTT and a couple of others) and it seems the cons are ahead. Will keep you all posted.
Belated Happy Birthday Mamacita!! Sorry I missed it!! Hope you enjoyed yourself.
Love & Hugs to all.

Suzanne, My sister sold Mary Kay, but is now selling off her inventory, cause she is moving. She said she did some figures on it and it was costing her money to be a dealer. Price of gas to deliver orders was the biggest change, and smaller orders from fewer people.

Gail get over the migraine soonest. Migraines are miserable.

Suzy, watched the video, loved the song. Allie looks so relaxed up there singing. And pretty too. Nope, I would not fill out those papers either!

Julie, good to see you pop in. Four appointments in one day? Hope they all go as expected, and you will soon be finished with docs for a nice long spell.

Coffee ready and I should get started on my day. a few errands to run today, and I hate errands now, using Gail's new word, a botheration hehehe.

Off to a Doctor's appointment. I'm finally going in for my right ear... total deafness except popping and crackling, and intermittent earaches.... and for a nasty rash in the nether regions that has spread over my belly. See you all later.

On Saturday I will be doggy-sitting. The neighbours are going to Toronto for an art show - they have a black lab and a bernese mountain dog (still a puppy). The puppy (120+ pounds) doesn't like to be left alone too long. He is a great big sweetie, and so is the female lab (although not as big). I am actually looking forward to going there and communing with the canines. Every time I go into our back yard they greet me. I miss having a dog.

A high school girl just walked by on her way to the Youth Centre next door - she was singing at the top of her lungs. My D's dog started to howl. Let's just say she was no Alie.

Hi Everyone....I'm still flying high and celebrating...I'm thinking about a return to the real world, but this one is too much fun...at least for now.
Suzy, adult kids grow fastest when made to do adult things...stick to your guns!!!
Theresa...have fun with those big ol furry babies and I sure wish we were neighbors...You could really enjoy Jazz any time you wanted to..lol.
Gail...what a pain..feel better soon.
Suzanne...tell Mary Kay they don't pay enough to cover your needs, require too much and add to your stress... forgetaboutit ...its not worth it!
Heidi and Julie, hope the doc's find your problems and kiss your boo boos and you all come home healed and glowing with new found energy, better hearing, and whatever else is needed.
Mz T,...hope the chores and errands go quickly...but a word my lady...we really need to provide a regular wake up drink for those who don,t drink coffee...like me. Tea and hot chocolate are only fixed on occasions...what else can be offered on a regular basis???
Well I managed to cover all on this page...to the rest of you good people...know that I care and wish you well..as they say, the body is walking but the mind is sleeping, and I have done my best...lol. Peace!

I will be having yet another tube put in my ear on June 2nd. I've actually lost count of the number of times I've had that done. My Doc says that eardrum is a mass of scar tissue now. I won't go into details of the yeast infection.... just that it's spread everywhere.

Heidi, OUCH< OUCH OUCH! I do hope you got something for comfort with the yeast infection. Some doc's treat the infection with Monostat or such internally and forget the comfort part. If doc did not give you something for external yeast, you can do yogurt compresses. plain yogurt with active cultures, they do soothe and are a natural anti yeast also. Eating yogurt will also help. Get well soon.

Doc put me on antibiotics and cream for external comfort. It may take a bit before I forget about the discomfort, tho'. It's spread all the way up to my belly button. I'm sorry.... TMI.

Listen to MizT, Heidi - she knows what she is talking about. Feel better soon.

Nice warm day here today, Broni. It's 19C right now and quite enjoyable. Tomorrow sunny and a high of 21C, followed by 5 days of rain.

Hubby has taken D and the 2 grandies to the youngest T-ball game. Oldest didn't want to go and threw a tantrum. D asked me to look after her for the hour and I said no. If I had looked after her, it's almost like rewarding her for throwing a tantrum.

Didn't get a chance to talk to hubby because he had to leave as soon as he got home, but it looked like he had a really bad day - wives can just tell.

GOOD FOR YOU Theresa, yay, so much empowerment in the simple word 'No'!

Heidi, ick and ouch :(

Woke up feeling better this morning, we shall see how the day progresses. They are more like cluster headaches than a migraine per se, so it comes and goes but is quite debilitating. If it does come back, I will take naproxen this time rather than just paracetemol.

Hi all.
Heidi, Gail and who ever else, I hope you all feel better soon.
Theresa, enjoy the puppy sitting. If you lived closer, you could watch Harley.
Mamacita, sorry you don't drink coffee but I make a big pot every morning and I share. I guess someone else will have to make the tea.

Morning all,
Gail, sorry to hear about your womenapause migraine, or cluster head aches. Hope they improve soon...

Hubby has apparently agreed to meet her at Centrelink to try to sort out what is going on. It looks like we are going to keep the kitty because her mamma will be living here. So how do you make an 'adult' contribute to the household???

Speaking of kitty, just had to go and put my dressing gown on so whiney kitty could be tucked inside it... Spoiled brat!

Julie, the thought I had about 4 appointments in one day was what happens when they are running late, as they inevitably will be!! Good luck fitting it all in!

Heidi, feel better soon!

Theresa, I forgot you told us you were a dog person. I am too. I didn't really want Nomnom when we got him but he wormed his way into my heart. Dimitri isn't there yet, and if he doesn't learn to use his litter box he never will be!!! Good for you for not agreeing to watch your oldest grandie! I'm proud of you!

Tami, my niece posted yesterday that she only has 7 days left - move to Texas for the end of term, you'll get 4 extra days of holidays.

Mamacita, stay away from the real world!! I've never had a chai latte. Like my cappuccinos..

Suzy, I am a dog and a cat person. We have way too many cats (all rescues) right now; there's no way a dog would fit in. Some day when we move down to hubby's farm, I would like a dog for company and as a watch dog. That house is a lot larger and there will be room for all of them. Also, I don't want to get a dog right now in case I go back to work. The last full-time job was in Ottawa and I was gone from home for about 12 hours every day - that wouldn't be fair to a dog.

I posted a message on Facebook asking people for help with fundraising ideas. My niece is going to have the liberation treatment for MS done later this year in Albany, New York. The cost of the treatment is $10,000. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

A cold miserable day. I was going to the shops but a neighbour called in, we had a cuppa and now a bit late as I have to visit 'friend' (doing some shopping at Aldi for other daughter) and then pick up Laura and take her to her Physy class. A busy afternoon.
Gail, I was lucky, never had any real headaches. Hope yours clear up soon.
Heidi, you have so many health problems I just wish you relief from them all.
It is always lovely to see Mamacita post as she has such a wonderful philosophy about life.

Hi everybody. Stopping in for an update. My computer went to the store where we bought it. They backed up all my data to an external hard drive. Laptop gets sent to Vancouver. They look at it there and will call with an estimate. Won't hear for a couple of weeks.
Took my mom for her CT scan today. Long (add word here) drive for a three minute test. Now we wait some more for results. It wasn't a total waste of a drive at least. I did get to Canadian Tire. Unfortunately, they only had one thing on my list. Such is my life these days.
Take care everybody.

Good idea June, a local Lions Club or equivalent might be a good place to start. Our local ones have been known to help with that kind of thing.

Hugs to you on another busy day. I hope your friend is able to eat today...

Rena, I will have to google Canadian tire. At face value it seems like there is only one thing that could be on your list! Okay, a lot more than tyres!

OK, I will tell you. Canadian Tire is more than just a tire store. They are more like a department store. They sell kitchen stuff like small appliances, dishes, pots and pans, etc. Sports equipment, pool stuff, and yard and garden supplies. Seasonal decorations. Tools, hardware, plumbing, lighting, and car stuff. Just about everything but clothes and groceries. I bought a 4 feet by 6 feet, indoor/outdoor mat which I will cut to size and attach to a piece of plywood with a rubber tee at one end for Amber to practice driving. She is getting to be a good golfer.

Hello all
Theresa - that sounds like a plan, what June and Suzy suggested. I wish we could help from here.
Suzy - does that mean she's coming home because of Centrelink? I guess you just have to lay down the ground rules and stick to them! She is an adult.
Oh Heidi - hope you're feeling better soon. I think most of us, at one time or other have experienced that discomfort - hope the cream works quickly.
Gail - I suffered from migraines most of my life until the womenopause when they stopped thankfully! I do still get those awful cluster headaches occasionally but they disappear as quickly as they came, as long as I stay calm. Not like a 2 or 3 day migraine!

Would you believe that I seem to have a recurrence of the virus I had a week or two ago? My throat is so sore, I have a dull headache, the sniffles and I feel like I've been hit by a bus! Guess I won't be seeing my Mum anytime soon - she won't know but I will!

Oh Suzy, know the " inside the dressing gown" for kitten. Scooter loved it. My robe would zip, and had to zip it down so she could be comfy and stick her head out. If I have on a polar tech shirt/jacket now, She wants to be wrapped inside. Have fun, and enjoy, cause kittens grow up so fast.

About daughter returning home, do you want her to move back in, or must you let her move back ?? Adult children living at home is so difficult. You cannot control them like you could a young child, you have to work toward cooperation. If they are not willing to cooperate, invite them to leave.

Just a quick pop in to say Hello and I miss all of you and send all the positive thoughts I can for each of you!

Another long day (total of 4 doctor appointments today - just normal regular follow-up kinds of things, including the squishy pinchy kind and a long acupuncture appt.). Heading to bed, as we need to be up before 5 again tomorrow. One of these days I'll find time to read and get caught up, but for now, letting you know I'm thinking of you!

Good Night!

Hi Julie, bye Julie!
Tricia - so wise about adult children coming home - doesn't work without co-operation.
When Karin got married, just before her 25th birthday, Col and I had completely opposite feeling towards her leaving home. He was so upset that she was leaving - I was elated. I had lived the previous 5-7 years with this other woman (ie my own daughter) vying to be top dog and run my household. She needed her own domain, and our relationship finally took on the maturity of mother and grown-up daughter.

Cyn, feel better!

Julie, we will wait patiently.

MizT, he seems to be asleep most of the time, all tucked up inside, but every now and then when he doesn't like the way I'm jostling him (I'm still doing ffuts with him there), he will rearrange himself. I'm getting hot! It's a heavy dressing gown - wonderful for cold weather, but not for doing ffuts!

I don't really want Dana to come home because I know she won't respect the rules and it will be difficult to enforce them, but she is not getting many shifts at work and is having trouble with Centrelink. If they agree to give her money she won't come home, if they don't she may have to.
