Morning all. Youngest grandie has a dentist's appointment this morning and I will be going with - it's only about 2 blocks from our house.

It rained overnight, but it's OK right now. Hope it's not raining a little later. I'm soooo sweet I might melt, don't you know.

Oh Tami, maybe Gail is right about you after all!!!!

I just realized that if the youngest grandie is home this morning for her dental appointment, it is going to be a real battle to get the oldest to go to school. Can Tylenol be used as a preventative? Hehehe.

Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut.

Hi everyone.
Next time I open my mouth about wanting to paint, somebody shove a brush in it! Hubby had an appt on Monday so we had a quick lunch beforehand and he said he was bored. I know exactly what he means, we basically do diddly squat, and due to our current lifestyle, we have fallen into a rut. So, I said it's about time we painted like we keep talking about. We are home almost all the time and doing nothing for most of that, so there is no reason why we can't. So...now we are at the start of doing our living area! My lordy lord we have a BIG loungeroom!!! We moved all the furniture apart from the biggest stuff out today, and spent the rest of the time patching holes and cleaning the walls down, lots of walls! Tomorrow we will start the cutting in of one section (L-shaped room), paint the ceiling and the walls, then move the heavy furniture into that section and do the rest of the room...see you in a week!

Brenda, I still help with the girls in the morning when my SonIL is on his early weeks for work. She has to take her time and sit down quite often, and it's hard for her to rush around in the mornings. I very seldom pick them up after school now.

Aside from dawdling, the oldest had no problem going to school. The youngest however was not happy that she was going to miss some school because of a dental appointment - she loves school.

Gail, it's good that you're getting all this practice in so that you can come and do my house after.

Gail, I sympathise and understand where you are coming from. I'm at home, normally by myself, and find I do very little. I get up with good intentions of doing loads but find I can't be bothered. It doesn't help I come on here and the other place and waste time (honestly it isn't a waste of time as I wouldn't know all you lovely people). I know you and hubby have regime you have to stick to for his healths sake. Just think how you will feel when your lounge is finished and looking wonderful. BTW I pay someone to come in and do my painting because it is hard work

Gail..... I've said for years that my goal in life is to be bored. I have never experienced the sensation. There's always too much to do or look at, or too good an opportunity to nap or read, or just to sit and enjoy the critters. Or even lay on the grass and watch the clouds. Life is short so we might as well do what makes us happy.

Those storms last night were intense. I have never seen anything like that front with the massive rotation it had, apart from a hurricane. It looked like it would be spawning dozens of tornadoes everywhere. Half the lawn is now a lake. But the tornadoes missed us, fortunately.

We have t storm warnings, there have been some severe t storms (high winds and/or large hail) in Alabama, but none for us. Just some little t storms, enough to soak the grass and water the trees.

I noticed today, something is eating the flower buds on my crape myrtle this spring. I do not think it will be blooming this year. Wonder what likes crape myrtle blooms, but not the leaves??

OH, forgot to say yesterday I saw a snake in the middle of the intersection of our 2 dirt roads. I guess it was taking a dust bath. Rather long, could not tell just how long. as it was curled about itself. YUCK, I do not like those things.

I have been keeping a bud vase with petunias in it, in my kitchen on shelf over the sink. They had grown too leggy in the container, not full and compact, so I have been pinching them back, but one daily so I can keep something blooming inside too. Today I gave them some Miracle Grow. I had bught the good potting soil with the fertalizer in it, but the potting soil was full of undigested wood. For that wood to break down it needs nitrogen, so it is taking all the nitrogen from the fertilizer in the containers. Hope with some added, the plants will do a bit better. I hate paying premium price and getting econo merchandise. That compost was not allowed to cook long enough, or it never got hot enough to break down everything, bummer.

Morning all,
Gail, mine really needs doing, but I'm cleverer than you, I stopped at noticing that it needs doing.. I know what you mean about a rut, mine is so deep I can't reach the sides.

Theresa, my routine has interesting moments, unfortunately they are watching other people do things rather than doing them myself. Most unsatisfying when you look at it that way!

MizT, I hope you fit some nana naps in to make up for your sleepless night. And that the weather improves so your pain reduces.

Heidi, I hope your meds are working to improve your health and that your ear aches are reducing. I forget the date you are having the tubes put in, June...

June, It seems a shame to waste a part of your day getting results you already know.. I still need a haircut too.. I will do something about that one day. Two of my ex-boyfriends came to hubby and my wedding. We don't really keep in touch, but I do see them occasionally. I think it's a sign you actually dated people you liked.

I gave my kids a math worksheet today. One of the questions was "Two snakes plus seven snakes equals __________ snakes?" I had someone grading for me and I told her I would accept one of two answers: Nine (9) or too many snakes. She laughed at my answer key. No one got the second answer, I wonder why?

Woohoo, go hubby...better him than me! I am the ogre around here, hubby is too much of a softie, and the kids know, though they have alsways said that if Dad blew his boiler, you knew you had done wrong and were in big trouble! Wouldn't have minded if he let off a little steam at them occasionally though...
Wee little vent here along the same lines...
Had to go to the school for a meeting with a teacher last night, a certain little Miss thinks she can get away with not doing any of the course requirement, never a pleasant task, but one that I have become used to over the time of having four kids. Of course it fell on a day that hubby was going to be plugged in so I would be going alone, as per usual. Anyway, his schedule changed and it was going to be a free day so he said he would come. At the last minute he decided that filling in holes and cracks was much more important, so I went alone...again...

I have been nagging my miss about this project for a few weeks now, (I'm too tired...) I adjusted her bed time and she didn't complain because she knew why I did it, but Hubby apparently didn't realise how bad it was until the letter came home from school. Now he does and he's mad! He even drove her to school in the work car (a no no except in emergencies) so he could nag her some more.

Hello All...
Ah...the days of reining in the kids to the real world and responsibilities...Go Mr Suzy...bet Allie gets that homework done now.
Mz T, I was up until 4:30...managed to get good and sleepy, then broke out in a severe case of hives that kept me scratching all night. I had bought some plants at the flower farm after leaving the hairdressers, and after placing them around, I started to itch slightly, but it really got bad in the late hours...guess something had been sprayed on them. I'm still itchy ,but not as bad..looking forward to some sleep soon...3 hrs just isn't enough.
Heidi, Hope the weather soon improves for you...today has been beautiful here...temps are really high (90degrees) for this early in the season, but sunny and a light breeze makes it bearable.
Hope all who have been feeling poorly are on the road to getting better...hugs, kisses and a shoulder are always available to any who are in need.. Tale care...I care. ♥♥♥♥

Mama, hope the itchies go away soon.
I don't know if any one has seen the news. Parents in Toronto are keeping the gender of their baby secret. The baby is four months old and named Storm. Only 7 people know what it is, mom & dad, 2 older brothers, 2 midwives and baby, and baby ain't talking yet. They say they want to let the baby choose it's own gender. Even the grandparents don't know what it is. I think that is ridiculous.

Suzy and Gail, I am so glad those days are over for me. Vent here any time because a lot of us know exactly what you're going through.

Mama, hope the hives are going away. I get hives if I eat too much pork - go figure.

Tami, only in Toronto ... maybe the parents need to be taught about the birds and the bees. If the baby is born with parts from different genders, that's a different story (hermaphrodite). But if a baby is born with all the correct parts, they can't really choose what gender they will be.

Tami, I remember getting a test in high school with about 25 steps. The first step was to read it all before you started. Most people didn't do that. The last step was to ignore all the steps after the first one, put your name in the top corner, and hand it in.

Well, I too am going to make it an early night. Tomorrow we take MIL for her spring drive and we'll be gone more than 12 hours. I only slept about 5 hours last night and forced myself to stay awake today.

Hope you get a better night's sleep, MizT.

Take care all and remember that each and every one of you has a place in my heart.

Tami, I wish one of your students had said 'too many'... If the question had been harder to figure out I'm sure they would have.

MizT, Mamacita and Theresa, I hope you get a better night's sleep tonight.

Tami, I read that story and although I see where they are coming from - they are probably sick of one getting Barbies and another getting race cars and all the stereotypes that go along with that - it's a bit ridiculous the way they are going about it.
