Swedish proverb
Shared joy is a double joy; shared sorrow is half sorrow.

That is why we can each bring our joy and our sorrow here to share.

Hi MizT, I should learn to refresh before I post.

We have a robin's nest in our cedar hedge. Dad just left and mom is now in the nest. It's like having my very own nest cam. I can see the nest, but I'm not going near it. I have been wondering why I have seen robins dive-bombing squirrels and blackbirds.

MizT:

You're the top!
You're the Coliseum.
You're the top!
You're the Louver Museum.
You're a melody from a symphony by Strauss
You're a Bendel bonnet,
A Shakespeare's sonnet,
You're Mickey Mouse.
You're the Nile,
You're the Tower of Pisa,
You're the smile on the Mona Lisa
I'm a worthless check, a total wreck, a flop,
But if, baby, I'm the bottom you're the top!

Just love Cole Porter. I named my late collie friend Cole after him.

Our neighbour (she works as a cook) just brought over a home-made meat pie as a thank you for looking after the dogs on Saturday. How sweet is that? Hubby is working tonight so I will save it for tomorrow night. Just add some vegies and potatoes and maybe gravy - not much cooking to do. Yahoo!

We decided to have a Memorial day BBQ. Grilled pork chops, mac and cheese, corn and garlic bread. The way my boys eat, I don't think there will be leftovers.

Morning all,
Finally working today! Yay! About time! Let's hope this is the start of something. My sudoku stars say that You're now just days away from Jupiter, planet of luck's first visit to your work sector since he left in 2000, opening the door to one of your biggest and most expansive years for work opportunities since then." Yours sounds better than mine, Tami. I'm just serving burgers, black beans with rice, salad and strawberry mousse with sliced strawberries.

Our forecast for tomorrow calls for a high of 32C. I don't think I'm ready for temps that high - we still need to install the air conditioner. Yikes!

IH's cousin and wife are coming over for supper in a few. I'll need to throw the burgers on the grill in about 5 minutes.

Good Morning all!

Yes, it is another sad day for our Australian troops. One killed last week and two more this week. I think it is an unwinnable battle.

We had a Canadian soldier die a few days ago in Afghanistan, but it wasn't related to an injury sustained in battle and it wasn't an accident. Speculation is it was suicide. I can't begin to imagine what they must see on a day-to-day basis.

Victoria, that bed looks comfortable enough for overnight guests of the two-legged kind. That is one lucky doggy, and so cute!

Unfortunately, even though Bin Laden has gone, his deputies and the Taliban are all still around.
Is this Vietnam revisited?

Those SA/FB germs that have caused colds/flus seem to have arrived here at my house.
Hubby, Son#2 both have colds, and I think I am on the verge of having one (despite having a flu shot earlier in the year).

Did you get antibiotics for that infection, Broni?
Hope it is soon better and you can forget the appointment looming ahead, till it is time to go.

Julie, I do hope you can get your computer woes under control. You have so little time to come visit, you need to be able to goe online when you have a chance.

Rolanda, hope that cold your family is suffering is soon gone, without your having to have it also.

Vicki, love the dog bed, you have one pampered pooch.

Heidi, hope your dinner went well. I had a burger on the grill, on the Foreman grill that is. Made Al a burger with no salt, no seasonings, and he ate half a patty. Said it tasted "edible" hehehe. Salt just does not go now, bread is a no no, tastes bitter from the baking powder or levning. I wonder if he could eat beer bread? Should be less bitter, I might make him a loaf tomorrow, I have a good recipe. He tried tomato soup at lunch, he really is wanting to be eating food again, said it was like eating salt mixed with sugar. I think his taste buds are waking up and are way over active now. Perhaps soon.

Evening all, good day, bad day today. 'Interesting' kids, actually interesting teachers, I sucked. But them's the breaks, with experience I will get better.

Sample incident: Miss, can I go to the toilet before class? Sure, but don't take too long. Later: That wasn't quick. Sorry Miss, I had to sh1t. How about you go back out and come back in and do that properly? Out he goes. Sorry I'm late miss, I had to do number 2.

It was hard not to smile, that was so cheeky.
