OHHH, the day here onsite changed while I was not looking. Today it changed at 8 am, next week at 7 am. I will not have to wait so long for the new puzzles once we get back in step with the time change.

We had a light frost this morning, so I hope MizT.'s prediction of seventy degrees is correct. Hi, MizT., Brenda, Julie and June. Take care of your eye, Brenda. Having taught school for thirty years, I do not fear catching any thing in a room full of people. I always got sick for the holidays. Too bad, Rolanda, about the picnic. I was looking forward to the two cases of wine you were going to buy so we could have a tasting party. If there is no quick response, I'm off to the puzzles.

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone is well! I haven't had time to catch up or figure out the time change yet. The temperature dropped rapidly here and it is 57F IN the house. I have been getting the air conditioners out of the windows, the storm windows in the windows and trying to put everything in its place!

I see there is now a three hour difference. I guess that will become 4 this weekend with the time change? It is 11:10am here now.

I'll be heading to Boston again on Friday to see D#2 play soccer and bring her home for the weekend. Which of course precipitates a return trip on Sunday!

Hi everyone. Been a minute since I've been here. Guess I've trained myself not to look at the ads. I go right for what everyone has posted and skip everything else.
Lynda, hope you had a good visit with your cousin. She would have froze here. It's been down to freezing at night and fairly cool during the day.
Rolanda, sorry to hear that everyone has the cold. I didn't get it, but hubby did. Hope your MIL is feeling better.
Dino, I haven't had a chance to talk to my SIL about lessons for your grandson. I'll be talking to her tomorrow and will let you know what she says. Glad to here that you're cold is getting better.
Brenda, congrats to your friend. It sounds like she trying to be responsible about the winnings.
Stella, how'd the costume turn out? If you can, would you post a picture on your page? Would love to see it.
Ruby and Cyndi, would you guys mind pushing some of that warm air up this way? It's not even winter yet and I'm tired of being cold.
Well, off to the puzzles, will check back later.

Hi Becky, yes cousin and I had a good time talking about family, we have 12 sets of aunts and uncles in common so there was plenty to talk about! In fact we hadn't met since I was her bridesmaid in 1959, there was a lot to catch up on. Perth's weather really let us down, it was either blowing directly from the Antartic or raining. How is everything with you? Seems as if you should be wearing your winter clothes. For all those out on their broomsticks tonight, remember ladies ride side saddle!

Hi Lynda and Ruby.
Cold again tonight, but tomorrow supposed to get a little warmer. We've got 3 blankets on the bed. I'll have to hunt up our comforter. Can't remember what I did with it.
Tomorrow night is trick-or-treat here. Have no clue how many we'll get. Each year is different. One year we had more than 100, then the next year less than 30 showed up. To keep us from eating all the candy at once, I put it in the chest freezer (where hubby couldn't find it) and doled it out during the next few months.

Ditto Brenda. Fully sick of the sight of it. And then of course, the other side of it, as soon as IT has finished, they whip those deckies out, and put out the Easter display!
Give me a break.

Good morning all!
It is supposed to warm up today just in time for the trick or treaters!
Do most places around the world celebrate Halloween or is it mostly a commercial holiday? It doesn't feel like Halloween here with only S#2 at home. D#1 is the most enthusiastic about Halloween and she usually gets the rest into it, including all of the neighbors. I didn't even get my decorations out. I'll have to make sure I do that next year so S#2 doesn't miss out on the fun of it.

Brenda, I can't believe you do your Christmas cards in October. I was just thinking today that I'll have to get a family picture when the kids come home for Thanksgiving at the end of November for the Christmas card. You must be really organized!

Becky, I don't have a picture of the costume yet. I am waiting for D#1 to send it to me. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of it.
Cyndi, yes I am putting a lot of miles on and with the gas prices keep going up, it makes it hard, but it's worth it. They look so happy when we visit!
Of course, it could be all the goodies we bring to them!

Hi Stella, Halloween has filtered through to the UK in the last 10yrs or so. We never used to have trick or treating but now it does seem to go on. If I prepare for them with sweets (candy) none ever arrive. If I'm not prepared then we may get one or two. I live at the end of a cul de sac and there is no passing traffic so people have to make a point of coming down to my house.

I make hand made cards for birthdays and Christmas. All are individually made with different embellishments on them, so it takes me a while to make them all. I haven't addressed any yet, that I will leave until the beginning of December or even later

Some do Stella, that's what I meant by trying. Its starting to creep in to the shops with all the decorations whereas ten years ago, you would hardly have heard anything about it.
Tonight, I had three knocks at the door but as I don't 'do' Halloween, I didn't have anything for them. Couldn't say no to my little neighbour though, I managed to find a lollipop or something.

BRENDA, now I thought I was ding a lot when I made computer generated cards for birthdays and christmas. You making 100 hand decorated ones has me trumped, bug time! Yes, would love to see a photo of one of them, please.

I will take some photos (or at least will get Elaine D#1)to take them as she is better than me. I have only been making them for a couple of years. It started when I was looking for a 21st Birthday card for one of the step kids. There were no really nice cards under £10 especially for 'special' birthdays so I thought I could make my own and have done ever since. I've had quite a few compliments for them so they must be ok

I've been trying to figure out how to get a bunch of holiday cards sent to my kids at school. I tried to do it for D#1 with my family last year, but only a couple sent cards/postcards. I think it makes a person feel special when they get mail. Last year I sent D#1 a postcard every day with a different picture of ornaments from our Christmas tree. In the end, she had her own Christmas tree made of postcards on her wall.

I have hit a snag with my kitchen floor cleaning... my mop head has fallen to pieces. It was fine the last time I used it (which wasn't that long ago) so now I have to go out and buy a new mop to clean the floor for my new dishwasher.
