Brenda, I hope Callie wasn't bothered by the fireworks! Our cats are "scaredy-cats," so Halloween was difficult for them. After the first ringing of the doorbell, we didn't see them for hours.

Dino, how is your cold/sinus infection doing? I hope medication is helping!

Julie; you remind me of high school when we had to write a 30 page report and we'd break each page down to a couple of sentences and stretch them as far as we could!

I must have been sent to the naughty corner. After my CP, I couldn't get back in. At least we finally got to a new page! Cheers everyone & pleasant weekend! Now, off to bed for me!

Julie, that was so funny! It put a smile on my face this morning, which was good after hearing some of the news. I never put the news on, but I wanted to confirm changing of the clocks today.

Long day yesterday. Drove to Boston and picked up D#1 to go to the soccer game. Her class ran late (every other Friday it gets out 10 minutes early) and then she had to get a warmer jacket. Got turned around several times going to the game so the 20 minute ride turned into 40 minutes. We got there 5 minutes before D#2 was subbed out for the first half. D#2 said she would be in first for the second half but apparently another girl asked to go in. So she was sitting there freezing. D#1 brought her a blanket and told her to let her coach know we came all the way to see her. (he has a tendency to forget to sub) She went in and played the rest of the half. She played great and was tripped in the box when she was about to score. She took the penalty kick and got a goal. Yeah! Her first goal! A minute before the end of the game she was about to score again and slipped in the mud. They lost 2-1. I took them out for dinner at a luncheonette near Boston College. By the time I took D#1 back to BC and stopped by D#2's school for her to change and get all of her things to bring home, we didn't get home until 10pm.

Yesterday was my sister Brenda's birthday. I'll have to send her an email today or call her. I'm not that fond of the phone, but I'm not sure I have her new email address.

Morning All! I slept in today, getting an early start on the end of daylight savings tonight. Yes, Stella, fall back tonight! I hate the fall back, love the spring forward though. guess you cannot have one without the other. I suppose it is time to get out my palm tree with little mini clear lights. I bought one last year, cause my living room semed so very dark after taking down the Christmas tree. Now with it geting dark so early in the evening starting tomorrow , I think it will help my disposition to have that corner with some light again. Too early by about 4 weeks to put up my Christmas tree so I shall go for the lighted palm tree hehehe.

Brenda, the fire near daughter is only 65% contained, still. It is over the mountain from her now, and into a national forest area, Really rough over there and harder to contain. The Santa Anna winds are starting again, so fire danger returns. Either that fire could change directions, or others could start. I have to HUNT on the internet for information, or ask daughter when she phones. We do not get reports of the fires here either.

BTW, Brenda, thanks for asking about the daughter.

Julie, about kitties, Kitty #1 is still reluctantly taking her antibiotics, and improving enough she was allowed outside yesterday and today. she stayed close to the back door, and the porch, which is gated to keep dogs away. So far I have not seen kitty #2 showing any signs of the congestion, hope it stays that way!

Sunny, cool and breezy here today. Canada can turn the fans off.

Ruby, I have the fan turned around, I'm trying to suck some of that warmer weather up here but it's not working.

Hi Rena, It is interesting reading all the cooling down temps of the northern hemisphere when we are gearing up for summer. A storm late last night with lots of rain but a lovely day today.

Just come home from my great niece's first birthday then hubby, in his infinite wisdom(!), decided to take the three teenagers to the shopping centre on the way home. They've all ended up with something new, he got dvds and guess what I ended up with. A headache! Got that for free though.

I think we got some of the scattered frost forcast for last night! that should nudge more of the leaves to chang colors. the Bradford pears are so pretty when only part of them get brushed with the frost, they turn the lovilest pink/orange colors, yummy. we shall see if that happens soon. Today a lovely day, warm , tomorrow warmer, maybe 76, then a cool down daytime temps dropping about 20 degrees for a while OUCCCH, that gonna seem cold!
