Was sorry I couldn't get to the Melb bash either. Have spent about half today sleeping which is what happens after I go out for the day. So driving to Melb was out of the question.

Have a good news story. The LCD screen broke on my newly purchased camera which was cheap 'cos superseded. Sent it back and it was replaced with the latest model with its extra bells and whistles.

WOOHOO! Dino, I love a story where the 'little man' wins.

Gday Brenda, I've probably missed you by now but yes, a great time was had by all, thank you for asking. I am in the process of gathering everyone's names so soon I will have names to go with faces.

Well, that's the meat put in the freezer. Just have to cut up the lamb now and put in the marinade for tonight's dinner.

I'm a little confused over Angie, her daughters and Col. Which one is who? I assume (wrong thing to do, always) that Bruce has his hands on Angie's shoulders? Which of the other three are the daughters and which is Col?

BTW what do you marinade your lamb in? Would Teriyaki work or be too much?

I am very sorry that I disappeared Cyndi. Dinner preps took longer than I expected. To answer your queries- I have marinated the lamb Greek style tonight with olive oil, herbs and onion. I will skewer the meat, bbq it then serve with flat breads, salad, tabbouleh, hummus and yoghurt sauce. Yummy. The teriyaki would be perfect to for an Asian bent to the dinner. I would then serve it with rice.
In reference to the photo: Bruce is standing behind Col! Angie(in white) is directly in front of the Christmas tree. Her daughters are: the second girl standing with red shoes on is Rebecca, kneeling directly in front of her is Chantel, in front of Col is Monica and on the other side of Angie is Emily, the ballerina.
I hope this helps the confusion, if not, ask away! It is very hard putting up comments on pics because you can't put in extra spaces or start on new lines.

MORNING SUDOLULAND! Coffee is on.



I should have a new coffee machine smilie, I have a new machine. I killed the old one, and it was not really old.

It had a tragic young life, and was on it's last legs, sputtering, steaming, and taking more than 30 min to make a pot of coffee. So I decided on Saturday to clean it. Have many times successsfully put vinegar water through a pot to clean the pores and valves. Well, this time it did not work! Seems to have stopped it up totally. I smelled a horrid stench, checked out the pot and there was about 3 tablespoons of the darkest, thickest, vilest yuck in the pot, where there should have been a pot full of almost clear water/vinegar. thing was over heating, everything smelled scorched, burnt.

So, we borrowed Al's smaller coffee pot from his dome/office and had coffee Sunday morning. On our shopping trip yesterday, we replaced it. new pot much faster, so you should not have to wait so long for coffee now :)

Good morning all! Slept in this morning! Actually, I woke up early but then found out that school was cancelled. We only got about 2 inches of snow, but then there was freezing rain all night long and still coming down this morning, so schools are closed. Didn't think I would fall back to sleep, but I did. I must have been really tired!
D#1 just called hubby. She had a marathon editors meeting from Saturday afternoon through Sunday night(no sleep). I guess her computer got snow on it walking back to the dorm. (It must not have been in the protective computer bag.) She slept through her alarm this morning and now her computer won't turn on. She has a 10 page paper that is due that she wrote while she was home for Thanksgiving, but now she can't get it! I must have jinxed her because when she was home I asked her if she had backed everything up on her computer, and she hadn't. I told her to put as much as she could on her usb key, and she didn't! And hubby and I were just talking about her computer yesterday saying that it should last her until she graduates! I guess we all should have knocked on wood! Now I might have to give her my laptop!

BTW, how long does it take to get an avatar approved? I've been waiting for a day and I thought it would be here by now. Maybe I did something wrong. It did take me a while to remember how to do it.

Hi Rena - I had trouble when D#2 reached double digits. Told her she had to stop growing! Nearly as tall as me too! D#1 topped me a while ago. Hope Amber has a great day!
