Ruby, I do hope you didn't put your shoulders out in the process of turning the page. We are lounging in the lounge room as the weather heats up to a scorching day tomorrow. I've got a new pair of bathers to try out in half an hour or so when lunch has subsided to a suitable degree.

Sounds like a good idea, Dino. I was supposed to go to Arizona but not going now. Too long to leave gumball alone on the mountain without a drivers license.

Dino, I love your sling chair. It would be nice to warm my toes in your Sth Gippsland sun, but my legs are not that long. I'm not truly that much of a beach person anyway, so you enjoy the shore for me. We actually haven't had that much cold yet, just clouds and rain which make it feel colder than it really is. I'm not complaining about the rain, either. We need it too badly. Enjoy your stroll.

Ruby, to tell you the truth, I rarely sit on the beach though today I was there longer watching GD's 2&3 playing. But I did get my first swim for summer. We call a swing chair a deck chair and mine sits on the back decking (where else would you put a deck chair, after all?) It has been a beautiful day which has turned into a mild night. Will be hot tomorrow. the family have gone home for New Year parties and I am quite content to have the house to myself again.

MizT, so glad to know that coffee burns the calories. I'm hoping your usual brew will be there for me when I wake up tomorrow.

Good morning all! Didn't get out shopping yesterday because of the snow all day. Everything is white again and nice and pretty. Nothing worse than dirty snow!

My niece never got back to me so it looks like a gift card it is. The gift for my niece is all set I think. She's like my two daughters and likes to read, so I got her D#2's favorite book series.

A mensa puzzle for the road. I never got through the rest of the calendar, but here's one for today:

What two numbers fit the following description?

The square of the first plus the second equals 7. The square of the second plus the first equals 11.

Hi everybody. Haven't dropped in for a few days and I'm very impressed with how busy all the SA3'ers have been in my absence.
Sounds like you have all had a good Christmas and rolling into relaxation mode [as is self]. Lots of
Thankfully I am finally getting over this virus I've had and was actually well enough to hit the gym. Time to undo the damage that all this decadence has done to the poor ol' bod!! Didn't do anything as rash as step on the scales tho!! [I think they would've said more than ouch]

Coffee is on, Dino, and I made an extra pot, since coffee's weight loss program seems to be needed at this time of the year.

We had rain overnight and the temps actually went UP. should be warmer today, but still not sunny. I hung out clothes yesterday morning, brought them in last night, still wet, that much humidity. Luckily they were on coat hangers, so they hung over the shower rod in the hall bath. should be dry overnight, since it is still cool enough to need heat inside.

Sorry Ian, I had not read all the posts when I answered Stella's riddle. I did not know you had answered. At least we both have the same answer

OK, today I MUST go
never made it yesterday. I had boxes to burn. Since hubby never remembered to take them out to trash, I had a lot of boxes. Then we got a delivery, new recliner for hubby. Was supposed to be his Christmas pressie. It was a bit late. One thing lead to another and we never left home yesterday. Hopefully today.

MizT, do you burn the boxes in a fireplace? I'm always wary about burning anything that has a coating on it. Can boxes be recycled?

Thanks Stella, It is a warm night and I just could not get to sleep.

We are not allowed to burn any rubbish in our yards. Causes air pollution and and also pollutes the atmosphere. We do have recycling collections which come every two weeks for papers.

Our private trash collectors do not like to pick up cardboard. For them to even consider it, boxes have to be cut into pieces and put into plastic bags for pick up. That is why hubby has never done it!

Outdoor burning is allowed here, but I do it very rarely. It is often too windy, and we had a no burn order when it was so dry. I save and reuse boxes for things we mail out, but just had way more than we could use or store, as we ordered many of our Christmas gifts this year. There is no recycling of paper or boxes or anything but aluminum and copper anywhere close to us.

I do save and recycle our aluminum cans, and wish they had recycling of glass and plastic and paper, but it is not happening here.

We can burn off with a permit, but that's because we're zoned semi-rural. Lots of farming type industry out this way. Of course we thought that meant we were moving to a safe area. Not rural enough it seems though, we had less stuff happen living in Los Angeles and Orange Counties than we have here (apart from the riots of course).

Thanks for the coffee, MizT. And Stella, I worked out the answer before I saw the posts, so my brain is not too muddled this morning. I'm in holiday mode, so no housework except essentials and merlin's walk.

Good Maen Sudokuland! Coffee, chololate and tea are ready.

I am off to a late start today. I slept in, then picked up my book I am reading and got lost in there a while. Hubby must have had a late night in the office, I did not hear him come in, and he is still sleeping soundly! Well, nothing pressing today, so let him sleep, I can entertain myself quitely for a bit longer

JUNE, a hot chocolate would have me up all night! Anything with caffiene does that to me, I do not even have chocolate deserts at dinner time! De caf tea or de caf coffee and colas after breakfast time for me. Even my breakfast coffee is COFFEE LITE, only 50% of the normal caffiene

No posts in 11 hours? where is everyone?? Rolanda goes on holiday and the site falls to pieces!

It is cold this morning. OK, not cold by our northern friends standard, but colder than it has been here in a while. We had a cold front and line of storms come through yesterday, Temps got up to 72 degrees yesterday, high temps for December. There were tornado warnings too. Hubby was already out in the office, I went out to join him till the storms blew over. The domes are our storm shelter, very safe in a storm. Now it is 42, and seems much colder with the wind.

No tornadoes touched down, thankfully. December and January are not known for big powerful tornadoes, it is not tornado season. But F0 and F1 tornadoes can pop up along a storm front, and if you take a direct hit, there will be damage, just not wide spread. If your home is damaged, it does not really matter if it was an isolated, weak storm, you still have damage.
