MizT, for the coffee. It is trying to cool down here. The temp has dropped a bit, but I'm staying inside till later on the day when the sun is lower. Hope you're getting some of this breeze, Gail.

Wish it was warmer here. Maybe we could split the difference between here and Oz. That should make it around 70 F (21 C). I could live with that.

Yes dino, the change is definitely making itself felt at the moment. Very refreshing. It did not fall below 29C last night. The minimum temp was at 7.30 this morning. At midnight I think the temp was still in the mid 30's!

Good Maen Sudoluland!

To everyone, I did not get around to send out messages yesterday, sorry. This will have to sufice I fear.

Coffee pot is on, today dawned clear and sunny, but much cooler today, 38F or 3 C, and tonight and the next 2 after, we expect a hard freeze, well below freezing, -6, -8 -5C the next 3 nights. NOT fun! Our 3 days of winter this time, brrrr

I did not stay up to welcome in the New year. I figured it could mannage without me. Hubby fell asleep watching Auburn football game so I wandered off to bed. Woke later to find him awake and cheering, Auburn won in overtime! So both state college football teams, University of Alabama and Auburn won their post season bowl games this year. Good show.

everyone.
I haven't been on the computer lately, life has been happening. Also hubby has been on mine, using the internet. I would like to thank everybody for the birthday wishes, I spent a quiet day at home and hubby and kids went to town to get take out for dinner. My favourite way to cook.

Have to go make a list for shopping today. Haven't shopped since before Christmas so apart from ham, we really don't have anything in the house!

LOL Gail! My mother is staying so our ham is all gone already... I was planning on shopping today but D#2 has a temp of 103 so we will be hanging around the house instead. I'll go over when hubby gets home from work. We have enough to last us until then - though it's actually too bad if we don't! Our temps are only reaching low 30's - warm but not oppressive. The forecast is for showers starting Saturday, though yesterday they were supposed to start Friday... I am watering the four trees and bushes I got for Xmas in the early morning to help them get through the heat of the day.

Maen Sudokuland! Coffee is on, and I need to make lots today. It is cold and getting colder! Currently -6C, with a high of 2 C ( 36 F) today, and back to -8C tonight, way to cold for me! Then a slow warming spell, but I do not like this cold weather. I shall stay inside, curl up under a quilt and read today, might even turn on the HEAT setting in my recliner and get a couple of kitties to share my lap. Did I say I do not like cold weather?

the one good thing, it is sunny outside, that is a major bonus.

Yay Suzy, I've missed you!

SA3ers. A pleasant morning here so far. With hubby on holis, I get to have the mornings all to myself because he never surfaces early, D#12 aren't home and D#3 is just like her father.
I, on the other hand, have been up for ages, fed the cats, hung out a load, brought a load in, folded, played with the kitties and made the first cuppa of the day! And now I am here.

Hubby was so nice to me today. He brought home every type of cough drop, syrup and picked up dinner. I could get used to this real quick, only if I didn't have to get a bad cold.

Colder than the dickens here. Our high today was 18 F (-8 C) and our low is supposed to get down to 9 F (-13 C). We got 4 inches of snow overnight.

Cold here this morning, 0F! The wind chill is brutal! We have lots of snow! It's been snowing every day and I had to drive yesterday in a blizzard to bring D#2 back to school.(for about an hour) D# 2 and S#2 start back to classes today. D#1 ans S#1 are still on break.

The stangest thing happened when I went to Easy this morning. I posted yesterday as I was leaving and the page was still on yesterday when I got on the computer just after changeover. I refreshed the page and my post from yesterday was reposted today! I've never seen that happen before. Very strange!

My trip back from Boston was really beautiful! The sun was setting, there was fresh snow every where and the trees looked like they had powdered sugar sprinkled all over them. The sun setting was pink, purple and orange and the mountains looked like they should be in candyland!! It was like that for the entire 2 1/2 hour trip. (I had to go directly to Max's soccer game because it took so long to get D#2 there.) It made up for the horrible driving in the morning!

The news just said that we are already above average for snowfall for January, and it's only the 3rd day of the month. They also said the windchill made it feel like 20 degrees below zero! (which is about -29 celcius) So Gail, we're at complete opposite ends of the spectrum. You're 29C and we're -29C!!!

Pee Wees (sp?) built a nest in a gum tree in our front yard. Late yesterday we noticed that the nest had twisted on the tree branch somehow and was sitting at a strange angle. Mummy or Daddy peewee was trying to look after baby peewee, but could not sit on the nest at its new angle. This morning the nest is almost completely upside down and baby peewee is on the ground...

I finished one of the quits my mil started before she passed away. I put a picture on my page. It has a lot of history in it. Most of the dresses in the quilt were made from material my mil saved from her mother's dresses. Now I have two more that need to be finished but need more than just binding. I will probably get someone else to do it. Quilting just isn't my thing.

Rena, GOOD LUCK with your quitting. I know many people find it hard. On the other hand, I remember my Dad quitting. It was kind of weird. He didn't tell anyone. He just quit. A few days later my mom realized his ash tray hadn't been washed for a few days. She went to get it, and it was clean. As we were all growing up, we tried to convince him to quit, but with no luck. When he was ready, he did it. Good luck to you! We know you can do it!

Suzy, I'm so sorry to hear about the birds' difficulties with their nest! Did the baby survive? By the way, I have recently read that babies can be returned to their nest and parents will accept them.

Becky, I'm so sorry to hear that you are under the weather! Hurry and get better! And in spite of being so sick, you were kind enough to post information about mygraines. Unfortunately, both my daughter and I have tried Imitrex, but without noticeable improvement. At one point, she was taking 2 things for mygraines and 3 for thyroid, I believe. She is trying to do with as little as possible. Migraine Ice cold patches had helped somewhat, until they were discontinued. Then she found WellPatch Migraine cold gel patches. Walgreens had them on sale with "Last Chance" marked on the shelf, so apparently they are being discontinued, as well.

Oops, I apologize for jumping in with comments before wishing Everyone a . How thoughtless of me! I hope everyone is off to a good start. However, those of us who are dealing with weather that is too hot must remember to keep their cool. Those of us dealing with weather that is too cold (and in many cases, too snowy) must remember to keep the hearth warm. Have a great day/evening/night/morning!
