Excellent. As you can see, there are heaps of things to do on the island. If there is anything else I can help you with, you need only ask.

This a site about our three zoos here. Healesville Sanctuary is not far from us either and they have roos and koalas. Not sure if they let you cuddle them, I think they used to but I don't know about these days.

All we have wandering around town are deer. Oh and bears in the summer. Maybe a cougar once in a while.

EEK! I was just joshing about the kangaroos!
It's not the roos you have to worry about in Australia, it's the drop bears that are the problem!

I'll end up having too many things to do and not enough time. I'll have to plan carefully cuz we have to swim lots in the ocean, too. And visit with people. And I can't forget eating.

Eating can be fit in at any time. In summer, we tend to eat a lot later than usual which gives us plenty of time to do nuffin for longer!

Be afraid, be veeery afraid!
Personally, I wish November was tomorrow, I cannot wait. Isn't it silly how you always need to have visitors before you can act like a tourist! All these things are on our doorstep but we just don't do them. We also have a scenic railway, Puffing Billy, going through our town. Only been on it once and that was a school excursion when Hannah was at primary.

Well m'dear, the family are having a communal grumbly tummy next to me so I suspect that means they want me to venture into that nasty room to do unspeakable things! I shall return later by which time, I should think you'd be well off into the land of Nod!
As I said before, if there is any more info you would like or any other things I can help you with, please let me know. How many days were you planning to be in Melbourne? Have you looked into accomodation as yet? For the days i will be showing you around, you would be more than welcome to stay here, it aint the Shangri La but it's not bad either!

Maen Sudokuland! Coffee is on, and boy it tastes good today!
No rain last night, bummer, but still hopes for today. I cannot access my normal weather site this morning, wonder what that is all about?
RENA, sounds like you have a lot of planning to do , and November will sneak up on you very quickly. Enjoy the planning, that is all part of the fun of travel.

Good morning all! Very warm yesterday and most of the snow is gone!
Very busy this week trying to gather all the things to bring to Bryana when I drop off Meghan at school. I'm bringing her her birthday presents now just in case there is a big storm next weekend and I can't drive there for her birthday. She'll be at class, so I'm going to hide them under her bed. (She'll never find them there!) Well, must get back to organizing the stuff, cleaning, etc! I'll have to catch up on the last couple of pages later. Have a great day everyone!

SA3ers. Much relief here now the cool change has come through. Last night was one of the hottest night's I have ever had to endure. not sure what the temp was but I believe it wasn't going to go below 30C, not sure of the conversion but take my word for it, it sucked!

Hi Gail
I've just been searching the BOM site for weather observations near you (too much time on my hands??). Their 'latest observations' link gives you half hourly temps etc for last approx 24 hours. Unfortunately I don't know the geography of Vic well enough and couldn't pick the town nearest to you!!! Here's a link so you can try....

Gail when I first came to Australia from a very cold UK to a very hot WA, I found it impossible to sleep through the hot nights. An Aussie neighbour said to soak some bedsocks in garlic and water and put them on before going to bed! I didn't try it as I thought his chronic rheumatics might have been a result of his remedy! Never have got used to hot nights, just lie back and think of England,

Lynda, about the only way I can get through it is to have a wet face washer by the side of my bed and wipe myself down every now and then, especially the bottoms of my feet!

Good morning all! I think I am doomed to driving in bad weather. No snow this time, but pouring rain and thick fog. Brendan came along for the ride. He and Meghan had never seen Bryana's school. She got out of class to meet us and gave us a tour around campus after lunch. One of the reasons I was stopping there was to pick up her new camera which wasn't working, so I could bring it back. I forgot to get it! We dropped ALL of Meghan's stuff off at BC. Nobody else was back yet. Brendan wanted to drive home. I'm not sure if that was more stressful than me driving myself. With the heavy rain and thick fog, I think I dug a hole in my hands with my fingernails! We left here at 9am and got back at 6pm. Another long day!
