Holy Moly...Am I on the right site? I was here earlier looking for folks to no avail, and nothing has been posted since then....I really need to find out when you folks are here live again....most likely it will not be at a convenient time for me...that seems to be the way the cookie crumbles...I guess I'll head off for bed now, and try again in the morning. Peace to all.

Rolanda, hope you can sort your weather out before Tuesday. My brother and his wife are arriving in Perth then. They left the UK this morning and are having a two night stopover in Singapore before heading to Port Kennedy to see their daughter and family.

Hi SA3 folks...another day has turned and still the comments seem to lag....perhaps we have just settled down to a gentle convo rather than our old loquaciousness???? Or is it just a busy time for all of us? Trying to find a good time to chat can be difficult, and I keep missing the boat somehow....its frustrating!!!

Boy, had a difficult time getting here today.
NO, not a Sudoku site problem,
No not a computer problem,
No, not a satelite/rain fade problem.
We are having intermittent electrical problems at our house. Gremlins. things happening that the power co and electricians say cannot be happening! Like only Part of my lights going off. And which part changes about.
today it is the part that energgizes my computer and my TV. Also, the phones are in this part. More than one circuit, but not all circuits. go figure this one!! Not the first time this has happened, but i want it to stop! I like things I can depend on.
So, if you see me on MSN IM and then I leave, and return, and leave, well, you know what is going on. If I am absent here more than usual, again you know what is going on. I could not get hubby to let me on HIS computer, in the office. Claims he is BUSY, using it for work. Boy does he have his priorities all wrong! this is SATURDAY, and I cannot get to my FRIENDS, and he uses work as an excuse not to share?? Aggggghhhhh!!

OH, about how phones are involved. we have portable phones, and they have to have electrijuice for the base station that sends the wireless signal.
And why office has no problem. the shop and office are on a seperate electrical feed, not through the same incoming main electric panel. It hs it's own, even off a different pole and transformer. Good to know something works!

MizT, maybe your house is haunted. I've heard spirits like to "play" with electicity.

BECKY, I thought ground hog Phill saw his shadow, and perdicted 6 more weeks of winter, but the Canadian one said early spring. Did I get that wrong?
I know it was cloudy here, and any groundhog out and about would not have seen his shadow, and so I say here in the south, an early spring.
More evidence to back that claim to early spring. Last Wednesday,I saw buds swelling on the Bartlet Pear trees. Now, they are usually the first flowering trees to bloom, but seeing them with such large about to open buds the last of January is pushing the season a bit. This was up in town, where tree gets sun all day, is protected by a building from cold north winds, and is near a parking lot that would hold heat, and near a drive thrugh, car exhausts would artifically warm the air perhaps. but still, January?
I imagine with the next 5 days of temps in 60' to low 70's one day, many plants will think spring has sprung!
YES, I think our electricity is haunted! this is not the first time for this particular problem, and there have been other strange electrical problems before. they seem to go away after we do something, usually a different something, and I am not sure the repair is really why the problems leave.
Last night just after dark, I was alone in the house, and 2 sections of my lights went out. Cats wer upset and came to Mommie. I was trying to get to a lighted part of the house, or a flashlight, and stumbled over cats! No injuries to report, but I am not sure who was most startled, me or the kities! In 20 min, this almost total loss of power happened 4 times, and back on each time after 2 or 3 min. I light candles and let the cats outside. they were happy to go.
flickering lights, let me send fore I looose.

OH MY, no visitors for 9 hours?? Where is everyone??? Now I have an excuse, I was asleep!
Convertine above temps to C, 16-24 C for highs this week. but cloudy and rainy, and I want SUNSHINE.
OK, Angie and others from OZ were asking on easy why sun and seeing a shadow would mean more winter and clouds and no shadow would mean spring on the way.
At least here in the south, Cold weather comes with clear skies, then in comes moisture and clouds and warmer weather. Clear and cold then cloud up and rain. The temps go up with the rain for us, cause the moisture comes up from the south and the Gulf and is warm.

Whoops, my mistake. Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, but Buckeye Chuck didn't. Guess I wasn't listening to the weatherman too closely. Their predictions were the same last year and we didn't have warm weather until almost June.
MizT, it's mainly a German superstition. Groundhog Day is a blend of Candlemas Day and the original creation belief of the Delaware Indians. The official tradition started in Punxsutawney, PA in 1887. It might've started earlier as references have been found as early as 1841.

MizT, as for your haunting, if you believe something is going on, there's a ritual that can be done that is supposed to cleanse your home.
Well, off to give the dog a bath.

Becky...Thanks, Its good to know that I'm recognized here anyway....but perhaps its not too good to always be recognized...just look at some of those who are...i.e. Brittney, Madonna, Paris...et al. Too sad to add a lol. Its got to be difficult never to be able to move about without every move being talked about.

everybody. Beautiful sunny day here, I guess we are back to some colder weather. At least the snow has stopped for today. Supposed to be back by Tuesday and showers predicted for next Saturday. I hope not because then it will freeze. Take care everyone.

It's raining here again. My water bill will be low this summer... I would gladly give up some of the rain if I could send it inland to the farmers...
