Gail, I'm so glad Aunty June is alert now. It is fantastic that she is able to talk to everyone now. I hope her physical recovery improves soon too.
Nola, it must be hard to be so close to finished and still have the revision classes to do... Best wishes to your son and grandies. I hope everything is amicable so that the kids don't hurt too much. Sigh.

Good morning all.
Suzy - pleased you checked in but not pleased about your internet connection playing up or the fact that the boy hasn't been found.
About what you told your daughters about your old age - my Mum told us that and it's something we have to repeat to ourselves when we feel guilty about putting her in care. It was worse with Dad because he had made it quite clear he didn't want to go into care ever but he had to eventually for his own and Mum's safety.
Nola - sorry about the break-up of your son's marriage. As you know we are dealing with the aftermath of that happening to our son. I do hope they keep the boys together. It will affect them anyway but it's best to try to minimise the effects.

We have those laws here too about dogs being restrained in cars and utes. Several have been killed falling out of utes in the past. And having tried to drive once, years ago, with a dog that wanted to jump over me and around my feet, I would never travel with an unrestrained dog again.

Cyn, hope hubby is feeling better today!
June, I hope the treatment goes well and works. We need some concentrated SA vibes for this one. I am thinking about her.
Julie, I hope the 12 year old has just taken off to do something without permission!
Rena!! Hi!! I hope you do have more time to spend in here over summer.

That one took a while to go through - thought I was a goner!
Today I have to do some gnippohs and while I'm over town try to help the young man open a bank account that isn't linked to his mother's. It could be complicated as he doesn't have his birth certificate. I guess he'll have to get it eventually but it would be nice to not have to cross that bridge yet. It will be Nom Noms first day home alone... she will not be happy! Nobody to boss around!

Thank for asking about my hubby. He is on the mend but not quite 100%. I'm trying to ascertain if he can drive today. My car is still being fixed and I desperately need to get in some groceries. We do have a small IGA within walking distance but everything is so expensive and often stale. And we have no public transport here at all - too small a community to warrant it. If he can't drive, I will have to ask someone to take me and I hate to do that! I don't know why because if the same people (daughter, sister or friend) asked me I would be happy to help and have done so in the past.

Glad the young man was found! Hope this eases his brother's mind now. Do not worry about the number of posts, Suzy, we are just glad you can get through today.
Cyn, you cannot drive your hubby's vehicle? Hope you get to the shops today.
Hi Renee! Good to see you. Hope you and Amber enjoy the retreat.
Today was not as bad heat wise, partly cloudy helped. Al and Terry discovered the newer AC dies not cool any better than what we have now, Bummer. It is bigger than one in bedroom, I have suggested it be put in here. My suggestion was ignored.
Thoughts and prayers to June's friend. Certainly hope this treatment is just what is needed.
Must go exercise hand, cook dinner veg (picked up fresh squash at farmers market today) and make a grocery list. Later friends.

Tricia, glad hand is doing better.
Rena, so good of you to drop in. Please come by more often.
Julie, have fun with the grandies.

Heidi, I did not give Molly my cough. I did go to the doctor today and am now on antibiotics. I have the very beginnings of bronchitis so he is trying to knock it out quickly.

Well, Collies are more like people than you'd imagine. They get human diseases that other dogs don't get such as Lupus and cyclic hematopoiesis.

Stir fried chicken. IH was thrilled and ate a LOT of it. Tomorrow night is our Cattlemen's meeting with meal, so I won't have to cook.

Hi All! Hope everyone is well. Sorry I don't have time to go back and read everything. It's that busy time of year! Going crazy trying to get everything together for my trip to Ireland with Bryana. Just one week til we leave! Anyone have any tips on car rentals or disposable cell phone purchases? I'm very nervous about driving on the opposite side in a standard with the stick on the opposite side as well. The cost of an automatic is really prohibitive!(3 - 4 times as much!) Spent the entire day trying to find a credit card that I can book the car rental with. Apparently, visa does not allow it's card to be used for car rentals in Ireland! Who knew?

Oh, btw, the graduation went well. Meghan got a few awards and graduated in the top 1% of her class. She received a Fulbright Scholarship to Jordan and will be going there in September for 13 months to study Arabic and work with the UN regarding drought and women.
I finished the bathroom the day of the graduation party and the party was a lot of fun and the weather was beautiful! Thank goodness that is over. Next year there will be two graduations - both Bryana (from high school) and Brendan (from university)!

In case I did not mention, the 12-year-old who was missing for over 4 hours in our community was found.
Suzy, I hope the young man was able to open a banking account. I also home Nom Nom was happy at home alone (probably she napped)!
June, I hope you got your shopping done!
Suzy, thank you for letting us know that the younger brother has been found! What a relief!
MIzT, I hope the yrdnual dried and has been brought in! I'm so glad it is a bit cooler today!
Rolanda, I hope the drive to pick up your Mum went better than you expected and that she is doing OK!
Hi, Tami! You weren't on the previous page, so I missed saying Hello! I'm glad you got to the doctor and got antibiotics to knock out the bronchitis before it got too strong a hold on you!
Heidi, I hope Molly's antibiotic will stop her kennel cough in its tracks! BTW, what is hematopoiesis? I take it it's something to do with the blood (hema). The stir-fried chicken sounds yummy. I guess IH likes it better than pizza. Even better, you don't need to prepare dinner tomorrow because of the Cattlemen's meeting! Is it catered in, or do members provide it?
Wow! This is a red-letter-day! First we had a visit from Rena, and now we have had a visit from Stella! Hi, Stella! We have missed you! And I guess we'll continue missing you if you and Bryana will be in Ireland for a month! Have a wonderful trip/visit/vacation!
Stella, I love your BTW that Meghan's graduation went well - and she received a few rewards and she graduated in the top 1% of her class - and she received a Fulbright Scholarship to Jordan for 13 months to study Arabic and work with the UN! WOW! Talk about a proud Mom moment or two! CONGRATULATIONS, Meghan! Great news! Please tell her all the SA cyber aunties are very proud of her!

Hello again! Finally up-to-date - wow, there's been a lot going on! Julie, love your summing up of the news. :)
Suzy, so glad to here that the boy is safe and well! And I think your family is wonderful taking in and caring for the brother - those parents are just horrible!
Stella - wow, great results! Hope your trip is wonderful - I would so love to see Ireland myself!
Tami, hope you're better soon, and the same for everyone else who is feeling bad.
Heidi, enjoy your night out - hope the food is great (no dishes to do - yay!)
Catch you all next time. :)

Julie... this is the best description I can find for human Cyclic hematopoiesis:
Human cyclic neutropenia is a relatively rare disorder of unknown etiology. Study of patients and animals with the disorder has led to important information regarding the differentiation of blood cells and control mechanisms of hematopoietic regulation. It has a world-wide distribution, occurs in both sexes, and, in about one-fourth of the patients, a family history has been obtained. While usually benign, deaths from overwhelming infections occur. In addition to cycling of neutrophils, in the majority of cases the monocytes cycle and in about one-fifth of the cases eosinophils are elevated. In a small number of patients, cycling of platelets and reticulocytes occurs. Cycles of colony stimulating factor are present. Cycles of bone marrow cells are easily demonstrable. The recent transfer of human cyclic neutropenia following allogenic bone marrow grafting confirms the hypothesis that the disorder is of bone marrow origin.
The only animals to get this are Collies. Affected animals are considered to be very valuable for research.

In Collies, the affected animals are easily visible at birth. Their colors are dramatically faded, hence the common name "Grey Collie Syndrome". I am familiar with it mainly because it is found in the bloodline that I have been using for the past 20+ years. I've been careful to only breed to non-carriers.

Hi all! I've read and want you all to know that I'm thinking of you.
I'm sending hugs and special vibes to all who need them.
I arrived at work today to find that it is just the storeman and me. Salesman is away because he worked all weekend at a Scrapbooking trade show. Boss is also away - Oh, didn't I tell you I was going to be on holidays this week (Nup) and I won't be back until at least Wednesday next week (nope, not a word). Now there is a change of plans as his SIL has passed away and he may be back mid this week.
I've arranged the airfares for my mother to fly to Rocky for her brother's funeral. I'll pick her up tomorrow evening and Shaun will take her to the airport on Thursday. He will have to take her in and make sure she gets on the plane. She can't carry her luggage and wouldn't know what to do once she entered the terminal anyway. He was very unimpressed when I told him.

Heidi, that is a "mouthful." I'm sure the description makes sense to some people, probably including some of our regulars, but it sounds quite complicated to me!
OMG, look who's here! HELLO, Becky! We haven't seen you in ages! I can't believe we have been visited by Rena, Stella, and Becky all in the same day! WOW!
Becky, I'm sorry things have been a bit out of control for you, but hope they have turned around and we may see you more regularly! We're so pleased to have you back!
Vicki, what a day you have had at work! I hope things get a bit calmer there for you. I hope your Mum has a good flight to her brother's funeral! I'm sure Shaun will do a good job of getting her to the airport and on the plane! Will it be her first time flying - or her first time flying without a family member? Even when my MIL was healthy, I'm quite sure that would have been too confusing for her. Condolences to your Mum, you, and the family!
Can't believe it - Heidi is off to bed before me! Good Night, Heidi! Good Night, Becky! I'm sorry I missed you!
As I have an early morning, I'm heading to bed as well! Good Night, Everyone!
Sending LOTS of hugs, positive vibes and prayers for all in need! I'm not sure when I'll next be able to pop in! Please take care, everyone!

Probably missed you all but lovely to see you popping in.
Update on hubby - he was eventually well enough to take me shopping (phew! I had no bread, no milk, no fruit etc - it had to be done!). He's still not 100% though but at least heading in the right direction.
