You are sucked in with Nom Nom Suzy.
I have been cutting Ken's hair for over 30 years. Then I spend the money saved getting my hair done.

Yesterday turned out to be a rather expensive day. A friend told Ken he had just bought a car and the dealership was having a 3 day clearance. We have been saying it was getting time to update so we got a good price and have a new Toyota Altise (same as we have now). We traded Sharon's car and she will take the one we have now (5 years old). We get the new car on Friday.

Tami, those coughs that hang on for ages are anuisance. Hope yoiu get rid of it soon.
I have been out in the garden (green bin day) so better go have a shower and do some other jobs........especially getting rid of some of Laura's craft bits.(she is into hoarding at the moment so every tiny bit of whatever has to be kept)

Got another one for you...

Last night Three was working and then met up with his brother in town for a while. I was going to pick him up at 7. I got a call from his mother... his sister (the one that caused the 'problem') had been in a car accident and couldn't be left alone because she had been given morphine, would I mind picking up Three's brother when I picked up Three and dropping him home?????

June, good luck with the new car.
Theresa, I hope the wheelchair gives your daughter a little mobility.
Suzy, like Heidi said, what nerve.
Don't remember anything else so I am just going to say goodnight and hope everyone has a great day/night.

Morning all!
Heidi - I'm picking up my jaw from the floor as well. How dare she? And what can you do? Leave the kid - no, not if you're responsible like Suzy is and the mother isn't! I am flabbergasted!
Suzy - Nomnom is soooo cute! And that's high praise coming from a person who is not a cat lover. (I love the look of them but don't like their nature).
Theresa - hope things settle down with your daughter soon.
Losing the plot - can't remember anything else.

Oh yes - June's got a new car, and so has Sharon! I love Toyotas.
Speaking of which, my car will now not be ready for 7-10 working days!! Not happy Jan! Originally it was to be ready later this week. I'm amending my car insurance to cover a hire car!

Caution - Venting: MIL is coming out of hospital today. She's breathing better but they haven't addressed the issue of the Shingles. They've been treating the ones she has on her shoulder but she is itchy on her neck and in her scalp and has pain all over her head. This is not good. What is wrong with these people?

I love Toyotas, too. That's why I drive a Toyota Tundra. I also forced IH to get rid of his Ford (Fix or repair daily AND Found on road dead) truck and get a Tundra as well. He'll never go back.

Hi all, have read all the posts while on a coffee break.

Cyn, my sister and her hubby recently retired from the health care field ... they both get a shot for shingles. They both have had shingles in the past and it was a very unpleasant experience.

I will work tonight and then go over at 7:30 AM to my daughter's to get the girls ready for school and take them to the bus stop. Then I'll fix brekkie for my daughter, come home and wait for the courier, probably run to the store. My daughter's MIL is picking the girls up after school and keeping them overnight. My daughter's pain has subsided somewhat and I finally got a bit of an explanation. She has multiple tears in the muscles in her upper thigh/hip area. The doctor said he hadn't seen a case like that in over 10 years. So I imagine it will take time and physiotherapy to mend. She hopes to be back at work ASAP, but not in a standing position. Her appointment on Tuesday will tell more.

Congrats on the new car, June.

Have fun at camp, Tami.

Enjoy your solitude, Heidi.

Cyn, Cyn, Cyn, cats have an adorable nature ... just ask Suzy.

Well, break is over ... hope to drop in during my next break.

Oh, Theresa... THAT is painful! I can't imagine that it's easy for her to find a comfortable position to rest. I hope the wheelchair has thick padding as well. If not, she might enjoy a thick foam pad on it.

Heidi, it was a freak accident just moving some things at work ... something she does every day at work. Her wheelchair is very padded ... it's really nice. The neighbours that loaned it to her say they only use it in bad weather, but it's in excellent shape. The lady neighbour suffered a stroke over a year ago and will never be able to walk again. It's all part of living in a small town I guess (not the stroke part, the helping out part). My hubby helps them out too ... one night the man was taking his wife to the washroom in the middle of the night and she slipped out of his hands. So hubby went over and helped lift her up. This couple is in their 70's (at least he is, I think she's a bit younger). He must be exhausted. He takes her for a drive every day, even though he basically has to almost lift her into the car. Life can be a kick in the you-know-what sometimes.

Don'tcha just love freak accidents? Those are the ones that do the most damage. Three years later, my leg is still swollen badly after breaking it in more places than the surgeon could count, in a freak accident while building a fish pond.

Yikes Theresa! At least she did it at work so sick leave shouldn't be a problem. Her MIL is a gift right now.

Miss you Vicki!

I was telling my mother and my friends the rhinocerous story today - the one about the younger brother. Mum was sentenceless and could only manage words - what... but... - those kinds of things. My friends were offended for me. I said 'No, it's funny. Can you imagine it even occuring to her to ask? How thick would your skin have to be?' Then they laughed with me.

BTW, the younger brother seems to understand because he says thank you again to Ebob everytime he walks by her at school...

Suzy, at least some members of that family are appreciative!

Heidi, my hubby used to do powerlifting and he said he could lift over 500 pounds one day and then the next day pick up a pencil and pull some muscle somewhere.

Suzy - Rhinoceros! Indeed! She's obviously accepted that you're looking after one son - might as well be 2!! Is this the same boy who went missing?

Well, off to get the grandies ready for school. Been up all night and still not quite finished this case ... another hour should do it. Hope everyone has a good day! I know your day won't be a nice one, Heidi. At least you will have lots of beautiful memories of a wonderful dog and know that you gave a rescued dog a new chance at life in a forever home.
