GOOD NEWS!!!
Those reblooming Lilacs have been massively popular, and there has been quite a waiting list on them. I just got word that the one I ordered was shipped today!! It will be planted under my bedroom window, about 6-8 feet from the sunroom.

Good news about the lilac, Heidi ... just imagine the wonderful aroma wafting into your bedroom in years to come. We have many of them (not reblooming of course) that you can smell as soon as you walk out of our house and I just love it.
There is no way Robert should be working in the heat that you have been having there. As you said, if it bothers IH so much maybe he can do the work.
I snuck in a nap while my daughter was at the hospital. No news yet, but what dunder heads at the hospital. They sent her home and when she got home they called her about 10 minutes later and asked her to come back so they could take an x-ray. Her hubby had gone back to work, so she has taken a taxi back to the hospital. Why the heck couldn't they do the x-ray while she was there earlier? Once the x-ray has been examined by whomever, they will decide if she can go back to work in a seated position.

Daughter is back and news is not good. I am so discouraged today ... I will sign off for now as I have to get a few groceries for her. I will answer personal messages, but don't wish to talk about it here. It's not life-threatening, but a very long-term problem.

Theresa, I agree, that was dumb of the hospital to send her home then decide she needs an X ray. See Tricia shaking her head in wonder.
Heidi, It was good of you to send Robert home in the heat of the day. It has been soo hot lately. Glad your lilac is on it's way.
Speaking of hot, we got a new air conditioner. since our old one was the biggest you could get that runs of 110 electric, Al and Terry the handy man, ran a new 220 line so we could get a larger one. Oh my, my house is way cool today! I might have to change the thermostat higher, but I was checking out how it would go today. My knees are cold, it is wonderful!! I am cooking middle of the day, and ran the dryer for undies I cannot hang out yet. Nice to be cool again.
Very nice Avon order you had there, should be proud of yourself, and the demo sounded fun, too.
Gail, I too wish there could be an end to the war. to many lives lost and as bad, to many lives forever changed as young men and women return with horrible injuries. It is heart breaking to think of them.
my timer says it is time to check on something, I have forgotten what, but something in the kitchen. Hope to get back later, hugs to all.

Morning all!
Theresa, so sorry there wasn't better news from the hospital. Very dumb of them to send her home. Sounds like your hospitals are like our hospitals. HUGS!!!
More generosity between SA friends. Hugs to Heidi for sending the putty, and hugs to MizT for needing it...
Heidi, good news about the lilac. When my connection is better I will have to google them. I know how to shut Gil up about sending Robert home - talk about the law suit if he collapses while forced to work in that heat - $ seem to be the thing driving him, that should work.

MizT, fantastic news about your new air conditioner. All houses in Oz have 240V supply and I had not realised that the 110 supply in the US made a difference with the size of air conditioner you can have. I learn something new every day in here! I smiled when I read your comment about the buzzer - I have done that before, more times than I want to remember!

Hubby hurt his knee at baseball training last night. Luckily we have two St John's volunteers here and they should be able to wrap it for him. Knowing him he will be heading off to work regardless. Just lifting his leg to get into bed last night had him moaning and groaning - that means something from hubby. I got him Nurofen Plus (ibuprofen + codeine) and apparently he got some sleep. Right now he is jazzed because he made it onto his side!

Empty house!
I drove hubby to work because it was just too dangerous for him to try to drive with his knee like that.
Three has gone to work to face the music. One of his workmates is going to have a 'man' talk to him today. Firstly for breaking Ebob's nose, and secondly for breaking a window. Yikes! He may be unemployed this afternoon....

Morning lovely people.
So many people in pain at the moment.
Theresa - thinking of you and your daughter. I'm so sorry that it's a long-term thing. Do take care of yourself. Maybe some outside help is needed. I know that even 10 years ago, I could have taken on and handled much more than I can now, whether I like it or not!
Suzy - hope you hubby hasn't damaged his knee too much.
Heidi - Suzy's right about the consequences of Robert working in that heat. You did the right thing - but I think you know that!
Isn't it nice that cyber-friends can help one another like Heidi's offer to MizT?

I'm spending today as lazily as I can. My back has been tender the last couple of days, so I'm being especially careful. I think it's just a slow recovery from the epidural. This has happened before.
Also throwing stuff in the sloshy thing. Working on towels and washable throw rugs today. Things that Rain had soaked. Meanwhile, I've got some marinaded (with Italian salad dressing) chicken in the oven.

The last 2 baby Gouldian finches hatched are thrilling me.
They left the nest today and I can see their colors better. Daddy was born here, and is yellow headed
carrying the genes for blue
, since his mama is blue
. The mama of these babies is normal red headed
, and as far as I knew, that was it. It turns out that she's split for blue as well, since one of the 2 babies is blue!
Or will be when he/she gets it's adult colors. I don't know if the other baby will be red
or yellow
headed.
The other dozen babies are starting to molt their baby colors now, and while all are the normal (wild color)
body colors, are starting to show red, yellow and black heads.

Cyn, our cyber friends here are the best. We may not see each other, or even be in the same country, but the love and support we get is amazing.
Theresa, hoping for the best for your daughter.
Viv, great Avon order. At least it is keeping you busy.
Don't remember what else I have read. I am at camp all day and by the time I get home I am exhausted and all I want to do is shower and go to bed. I have flung food at the beastie boys, I have had my shower (before I came for this visit) and now it is time to get ready for bed. I will be back tomorrow.

Hi all, sounds as if a lot has been going on while I have been missing for a couple of days.
Theresa, I hope that, even if it takes a long time, your daughter recovers from her leg problem. Just remember you have to take care of yourself too.
Rolanda, take care of yourself... remember you haven't long since had an op yourself so your immune system could be low. I know your mother problem will be causing you lots of worry.
Viv, and actor as well as a beautician you do lead an interesting and fun life.
Cyn, how did the meeting between Jewel and Andrew's new puppy go? Hope you don't have to wait too much longer for your car to be repaired.

Heidi, I love hearing about the birds and the other animals too. I always send either happy or sad thoughts your way when something happens.
Suzy, I was sorry to hear that your haircut and colour went unnoticed by the family. They probably see a perfect mother/wife no matter how you look.
(Have you stopped playing Lexulous on the other page?)
June, you are always in my thoughts hoping this treatment will do what it should do for your friend.

We have just had my new chair delivered. It is a Human Touch Massage chair http://www.humantouch.com/ht-125.html
Tried it out on a full back massage (15 minutes) and my back feels wonderful.
Richard got me this as a surprise, though it has taken a lot longer to be delivered than expected.
The idiots at the furniture logistic delivery company sent one man with this chair loaded onto a large delivery wagon with no tail lift. The chair weighs 65Kg.He was supposed to deliver it this afternoon but turned up 8am this morning. Fortunately there was someone else here to help unload and bring it into the house.

It's still morning, and I'm hot and tired already. One of the calves developed a case of pinkeye in both eyes and had to be caught. Between IH, Robert and myself, we caught her and took her to the Vet clinic. I'll pick her up later today after the Vet has treated her. Right now she's stone blind, so will have to be kept in a pen in the barn for a week.

Greetings friends. A very busy day already here today. I have done my exercises for the morning, well except for stacking pennies hehehe. Packing clothes and preparing food for my day to cook. I leave tomorrow morning for 4 days with my 2 sisters and 2 nieces, a girls only retreat in north Georgia. IF I can remember my password here, I might be able to get on while away, as I am informed they have a computer just for guests at the summer house. My BIL is in the computer business, so I am not surprised.
Now, Brenda, that was not good thinking on the part of the delivery co, sending only one man to deliver that chair. I do hope you enjoy it, it sounds wonderful.
Rolanda, sorry to hear you are unwell, hope you are better soon.
Suzy, I think that depends on the employer. I know of restaurants who charge their waiters and waitresses for any dishes they drop and break, others do not. Who broke what?? Why am I thinking Three first??
Heidi, are you up and watching the men working??
OH, I am typing with two hands!! Ashley did something different last trip, some anti-inflammatory medicine that is somehow forced into the skin with an electronic gizmo, and I do think that has helped more than anything that has been done so far. Too bad it is 10 days between treatments this time, I want that again. I am also doing a lot more of my exercises! She said increase, had me doing 20 or 30 of some at therapy, so I am working up to 20 of everything. This morning it was 17, will do that a couple of days then go to 20. Also, increased the weights in hand on some too. Progress, I think.
OK, I am off to stack pennies, and get other things ready for tomorrow. Hugs to all.

Heidi,Hope the calf is OK. I seem to remember Dad had some powder her put in the eyes. I know you had to get the pink eye early before the eye was permanently damaged.or they went blind.
Brenda, I think we will all come to visit to try out that chair.
Enjoy your time away with your sisters MizT. Glad to hear the hand is improving.

She should be OK, June. People used to put an antibiotic powder in the eyes when an animal had pinkeye, but that has been stopped. If you've ever gotten any grit in your eye, especially when suffering from conjunctivitis, you'd understand what a cruel practice that was. Now the treatment is a specific antibiotic (LA 200) injected both subcutaneously and into the eye itself. Then the third eyelid is stitched shut to shade the eye. The stitches dissolve in a week or so, and the eye opens again. This calf was caught early, so only one had to be stitched, but recovery will be 100%.
