Morning all!
Brenda, you have a keeper for a hubby!! My internet connection has been so bad lately that I couldn't get the lexulous games to open, and if they did it failed before I could submit words! It looks like it might have picked up this morning - 24th of the month, so will be giving it another go today.... yay!

Have read but don't remember much.
Brenda got a new chair and invited us to come and take it for a test massage. What a wonderful gift.
Tricia is going on an all girls retreat. Sounds very relaxing.
Heidi mailed the putty, has a roof on the sunroom and is waiting for the window. Also has a calf with pinkeye.
Suzy wants to know if an employee breaks something, who has to pay? I don't know but all the years I worked at Macy's I broke a lot and never had to pay. Why they put me in the fine china and crystal department I will never know. I also worked in the Christmas shop and learned first hand how fragile those pretty glass ornaments are.
Rolanda peeked her head in but it is hurting her. Hope you feel better soon.
Don't remember anything else. I will try to come back later and reread the posts. Hope everyone is having a great day/night. Time to go fling food at the beastie boys.

All of the windows are here. There's a 10' x 5', two 7' x 5's and a 3' x 5'. The door had to be sent back. The primer on the frame was defective and was flaking off. They'll have to completely redo it. The windows will be installed tomorrow!!! It's going to be a tough job because Robert won't be here to help carry them. (I'll have to help lift and carry) He's the strongest one of the bunch. He's off at a motorcycle rally for the next 4 days.

I was a bit quick to be happy about my connection.... I will stick with it because if I don't I have to push the hot slidy thing!!

Yes, it was Three June. He seems to attract problems.

MizT, your planned trip sounds wonderful!

Tami, I want your energy. I know how to start to develop it - get off this seat!!

Suzy, I don't always have as much energy as I wish I did. I just do a good job of faking it. I think hanging out with kids all day keeps me young.

We went on a field trip today. It was to a place with a lot of video games and a skating rink. Yes, I do roller skate and I made Mitchell try. Dylan was also there but did not want to try. Unfortunately one of boys from group older than mine took a bad fall. We think he broke his leg. The camp should know more tomorrow or Friday. He seemed in good spirits. I heard he might have been pushed but I am not sure.

Yikes Tami! There's a fairly good chance he was pushed. Kids often don't have any idea what the consequences of their actions might be. It's all in fun and they didn't mean to hurt anyone...

Cyn and Gail, I really don't like the way our system allows that kind of leadership change to happen - I think I'd be unhappy if it was Gandhi taking over!

Topsiders, in case you don't get our PM comments... Imagine some people in the Democratic Party decided they didn't like the job your President was doing so they held a big meeting and picked someone else to take over... without an election.

It's built into our system Heidi. It's not the first time it has happened. I've lost count of the number of Premiers (Governors?) our state has had since the last election. The party picks the leader, not the people.

Totally agree, Suzy!
If Kevin Rudd had lost an election and she became the leader of the opposition and then won the next election - fine, I'd be delighted for her. But this is back-stabbing and an anomaly that should be eliminated from our system. As a reporter said - the mining tax that has caused all of this unrest, was the brain-child of Wayne Swann! And where is he? Did he go with Kevvie - nah, he's deputy PM!

HI, All! No time to read or comment here tonight! Exceedingly S-L-O-W connection and late, but wanted to say hello! Sending hugs and prayers for anyone who needs them! I spotted a comment from Theresa, but can't get to you private message page. Please know that I'm thinking of Theresa and D, MizT and hand, Rolanda and Mum, Ebob and nose, Cyn and lack of car, Viv and large Avon order, Tami and busy camp, Heidi and sore back and grieving for Rain and anyone else I've missed. Good luck, Nola, with your final assignments and meetings of this semester! Sorry, my brain is numb.

Good Night, All! Sending lots of love to everyone!

Good night Friends. I might not have time to get on in the AM, I want to get last minute things done and out of here, have an hour or so to relax at my sister's house fore getting back in a car for 4 more hours! I do not travel well, achies get to me, but since sis is driving, I can take pain pills and doze through the trip.

I do not understand your political system, but would be happy if the party here decided they did not like our president and put someone else in office.

Tami, hope the student who was injured is soon recovered. Do let us know when you hear.

Heidi, sorry to hear the door had to go back. do be careful helping to move those windows, thoe are big windows, and heavy. You do not need to undo the good of your epidural. Glad the calf is going to be OK. Must you now monitor the other calves for pink eye? Is it contagious from one to another?

Getting late, and I have a couple more things to do tonight, and must be up early, so I should get to bed. hugs and extras to anyone needing them.

Hi all. Sorry I haven't been here but we have been very busy at work setting up a new website. Between that and the end of year stuff (including stock take next week) I probably won't be here much for the next few weeks.

I had to go to the airport yesterday to collect my sister. She has come up for our nieces 21st birthday tomorrow. We are heading to Hervey Bay tomorrow for the party tomorrow night. Mum, my brother, sister, Kevin, 2 boys and I are all going together in two cars - boys car and girls car!
I'm looking forward to the weekend. It should be fun catching up with my other brother, SIL and 2 nieces.
That's all folks!
Hugs to anyone in need. Stay well all and hopefully I'll find a few spare minutes next week to get on line.

Wouldn't it be nice if politicians could concerntrate on doing the best for our country instead of having to play party politics and being manipulated by the power brokers. I am sorry but our new PM's voice grates on me.

I saw that you had a new prime minister, but didn't read the article so hadn't realised you hadn't had an election. We had been talking to Richard's step daughter (in Australia) the other night and she mentioned elections, so I thought that it had been recently held.
We have the same system here in the UK, the political party can change their leader and therefore the prime minister without having an election. It was done a few years ago when Blair resigned and Brown took over, and even earlier Thatcher and Major. It is the political party you elect and it is their choice of leader. I'm not sure if the same thing happens in USA, but I would assume that if anything happened to Obama then the vice president would take over, without the need for an election. This is what happened when JFK was shot.

BTW to me all politicians are the same, they are in it for what they can get. They promise one thing and then proceed to do exactly the opposite... it is the same the world over.

Brenda, in the US you actually vote for the President. That is, you tick Obama on the ticket. Here you vote for your local representative, which I'm guessing would be the same for you as I think we have the same system. The VP can only take over in the US if the President is dead or not able to be President anymore - with some legal and extreme exceptions. Another wonderful difference in the US is that everyone knows exactly when the next election will be. It means that politicians are not campaigning ALL the time. They can take some risks and actually get stuff done - if they have the majority of course. And this conscience vote cr@p, they always vote their conscience! Meaning they don't have to vote the same as their party tells them they have to.

I think I should go back and delete all my politics comments. I never talk politics! I figure you're not going to change their mind and their not going to change yours so why argue about it. I guess I just got annoyed about the way this all happens because it seems to be happening all the time on a state level.

Grrrrrr, starting to get to know that feeling here too. It was easier to plan when we had complete control over their after school activities...

Ebob was well fed tonight. The TAFE hospitality students had an 'all you can eat' thingy for a gold coin donation. It both counted towards their course and raised money for 3 children who were orphaned when their parents were killed in a car accident. They must have invited students from all of the other classes to attend as Ebob is doing a Cert III in nursing.

I came to see if Theresa had posted today. On easy they were talking about the earthquake near Ottawa and Theresa lives about 40-50 Kms from there.
Freeze the stir fry Rolanda and bring it out when they came home unexpectedly. I do understand how you feel when you have gone to all that extra trouble to prepare the meal!

June, I just searched for the earthquake and it said it was only a 5.0 and caused relatively little minor damage and no injuries. Apparently they don't get many earthquakes up there and so were a bit shaken up. There was a bridge collapse though - Bowman, Quebec, which was the epicentre.

I did know it was only around the 5.0 but sometimes you just cannot be sure how people may be affected. I know Theresa also has a lot going on and staying up all night to get her typing done.

Hi all, just reading with my coffee. Although the earthquake was felt in our area, I didn't feel it. My daughter and I were both having a nap and slept right through it!!! Thanks for asking, June. It freaked a lot of people out because a 5 for our area is almost unheard of, hadn't happened in over 100 years apparently.

Theresa, it's funny because living in California for 10 years, a 5.0 might have gotten us out of bed, if we woke up, but maybe not. What's that movie with Will Smith and aliens and the end of the world???? Independence Day! Did you see it? Remember the scene at the beginning where they think there has been an earthquake and stay in bed? It really is like that in LA. There were only 2 that got us out of bed. The Northridge quake and a 6.3 one. I slept through all of the rest. My SIL on the other hand would have been in a panic.
