Evening all!
I wish my hubby would obsess like that!!

I have had another lucky afternoon. Ally and the Pride girls are being given an award at the Lions Changeover dinner - suit and tie dress. My expanded form doesn't fit into any of my noicer clothes... A shop in town moved into a bigger location and has 50% off everything for 3 days. I managed to pick up a nice outfit for only $30!! Obviously it's no designer outfit and I could very well run into someone wearing the exact same outfit, but I didn't want to buy any fat clothes at all so I'm jazzed!

Afternoon.

Hubby and I been to the movies today, and had lunch out.
Mary/Bibra Lake had some free tickets, she was unable to make the viewing, so she gave them to me.

Rolanda - what was the movie?
I don't seem to have seen a movie for months. My regular Tuesday movie companion is doing a training course. She'll be finished in a few weeks.

Yes, what was the movie? I never seem to be able to get out to see a movie in the theater. I always have to wait for it to come out on DVD. I just got Alice In Wonderland with Johnny Depp. I'll either watch it tonight or during the heat of the day (siesta time).

Suzy.... don't worry about someone else having that outfit. First... accessories make all the difference, second... different bodies make outfits look different, and third... take the attitude that the other person (if existing) is wearing YOUR outfit.

We are having our hottest weather this year, this weekend (or so we are told)
Suzy, if someone showed up in the same outfit it would mean that someone else had good taste.
June hope you have had a drive of your new car by now.
Heidi how is the sun room coming along, by all reports I have seen it will be ready soon.

The sunroom will definitely be done within 2 weeks. Maybe sooner. All the hard parts are done. The outside just needs siding and trim. And the door needs to be installed. The inside needs insulation, electrical wiring for the lights and outlets, and the sheetrock on ceiling and the little bit of wall needs to be installed. The little bit of wall will be painted sky blue, so it's not noticeable against all the sky visible through the windows..

Yes I drove the car yesterday. We went to the circus for Belinda's birthday. Nothing spectacular but a good family travelling circus.
I found the day very emotional. Remembering all the similar circuses I had seen over the since I was a child and watching my girls all together.
Laura loved it , especially the monkeys riding the horses and the dog.
When I was a youngster we went to a circus and they brought out a lion in a small trailer and parked it in the ring. We were there very early and there was a very 'posh' couple with their son sitting in the front row. The lion turned around and sprayed them with his urine. Very smelly and something we have always remembered. Yesterday there was a repeat performance when the lions were brought into the ring. Except the crowd yesterday were very down to earth people and they all laughed, even those who 'copped it'.

I thought the "Alice in Wonderland" Laura was watching the other day was a very funny version. Just checked and it is the Johnny Depp version. Ken gets DVD's for Laura when he goes to Vietnam.
Enjoy your dinner out Suzy, and wear the new dress with pride.
Suzy I was about 14/15 and one of our square dance group was turning 21. Dad used to nominate a cow for us and when she had a calf that was sold we could have the money. Mine was used to buy this lovely red velvet dress to wear to my first ever 21st birthday party. My 'boyfriend's mother had bought a similar dress in green and I think there were two other red ones but in different shades of red. I actually wore that dress for years and I still have it over 50 years later.

Richard and I went to see that version of Alice in Wonderland at the cinema. It was the first time I had been to the cinema for over 9 years. Richard really wanted to see a 3D film, but wouldn't go without me. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Morning all!
The only 3D movies I have seen were the special ones at wildlife parks etc. I'll have to do a search to find the closest cinema that shows them. I know Ally went to one when she was visiting friends in Gerringong, but they don't even have a cinema so must have driven somewhere.

June, I smiled while reading about your trip to the cirucs. 3 generations together... A wonderful day.

Heidi, isn't this about the time the contractors don't show up when they are due etc? I've heard that's the case anyway...

We watched Avatar last night - on our new TV. EOFY sales were too irresistable! Don't you hate the new acronym?? I had to use it just so I could say that. We have a 42" plasma. Finally moved into the future of thin televisions.... :-)

Hi all. Glad to hear good news from most today.
Suzy, enjoy the new tv. It sounds great. I am hoping to buy a new pooter within the next month.
June, glad you had a great time at the circus. Last time I went it was just me and my mom about 20 years ago. My parents and hubby took Mitchell when Dylan was about 5 weeks old. The boys went a few years ago with their aunt and uncle as a Chanukah gift.
Heidi, can't wait to see pictures of the sunroom.
Brenda, glad you enjoyed the movie.

I was a good mommy today. I baked a chocolate cake with chocolate pudding filling and vanilla icing. It didn't come out looking good but it tastes great. Frosting and sprinkles can make even a lopsided cake look better.

Suzy... I have found the only totally reliable contractor on the planet. If he says he'll be here, he will be. And never a minute late. And he usually comes in under estimate.

I'm gonna feed the dogs early tonight, then watch Alice In Wonderland while in bed. I need to get up before the heat sets in tomorrow and move hay, then mow the lawn. I'll then reward myself by jumping in the fish pond and cleaning out excess plants and weeds.

Heidi, all contractors should be like George!

Broni, :/, they really earn their names don't they? But alternatively, would you wish that job on someone who relies on it for income? It may not be around for very long.

Got another one for you....

Three and his brother have spent the weekend in Sydney with their father and their grandparents. Their father drove them up on Friday and they are taking the train down today. The train line actually stops one town up the road. Ebob got a phone call from the father last night - would I mind picking up BOTH boys from the train today? Where's Mum?

If all goes well, I should be back sometime our Thursday. (Right now, it's Saturday night.) Enjoy the rest of the weekend and most of the week!

Suzy - these people know you are responsible and know that you wouldn't leave him there. I was going to suggest that you drive him to your place and then get him to call to be picked up from there. But, from what I've heard of them, you'd end up with 'four'!! $#@%^*& @$$#o?*$!!! (I can't say what I want to!)

I missed that post, too. All I remember is her saying that she's been very busy.
I suspect that Julie is so busy with her recaps here that she forgets to tell us her important news.

OOPS! just popped back and realized I've confused many of you. We are not moving. Our daughter's family is moving. We have been spending some time with them - mostly to help keep the grandies busy and happy as the packing is being done. D and SIL are moving from one house to another in the same town. The movers pick up on Tuesday and move to the other house on Wednesday. We return home Wednesday night. So sorry about the confusion! See you all from our own home on Thursday, I hope! Stay well and be good! Hugs to all!
