No Heidi, the grandies are not much help right now. They are assigned chores, but not enough to be a great help to me. Plus the whole thing with their mom has them upset and they just don't understand, so they have been on the whiny side lately (NOT WHAT I NEED!!!!). They are 5 and 7.

Yes, it is good news about my daughter ... there is light at the end of the tunnel. Apparently it's a fairly rare condition and they don't know what causes it. She has had at least one specialist at the emergency department who has asked if she minds if he follows her condition as he was the first one on call. It's just that she's so young to have this.

Both my hubby and SIL work fairly long hours, but my daughter's MIL retired last week, so she will be coming more often.

Theresa... 5 and 7 are too young to really understand. You're right there. Poor kids.

Brenda, it is not the tank that is leaking, it is a connection in a pipe, a pin home leak that sprays water everywhere! There is a partition seperating the tank from my clothes, but spraying water can find any crack or crevace, and hot water can arrive as steam, humidity. I had noticed my bed room smelt musty when I first came in, wondered about that, but had not found time to investigate.

I was showing hubby some clothes I acquired, someone had given my niece a LOT of clothes after a friend lost weight, and I got some that niece did not want. A lovely printed skirt and was looking in closet for shirts I knew would go with, found shirt but it was WET! Hubby opened the partition and said words that hubbies say in situations like that. I knew it was bad by his choice of words hehehe. He turned off the water, and I put a fan, some of the clothes are dry today, others are less wet, so it helped.

Teresa, I have to go back for a second, spot X ray, then an ultra sound most every year, followed by a " come back in 6 (or 4) months for a follow up. All of this has turned out to be nothing more than fibrocystic breast disease, a bit of a bother with all the extra tests, but that is all. I have hopes that is what you will find from all your tests. I have decided I will not worry. I hope you can decide that also.

Off for breakfast and yes, Heidi, I will think of you when I squeaze the life out of putty.

George and Mike are getting all the electrical wiring done today. They're putting in 4 outlets and 4 lights. The wiring for the other 2 lights is already in place. Tomorrow the door and the siding are due to arrive. Then it will get really exciting.

Yes June, we do what we have to do. As with all mothers, I would rather this was happening to me than her. I don't begrudge helping at all, that's what families are for. It's just at the beginning it was so overwhelming it's like my system just shut down and went on automatic pilot ... I didn't really want to discuss it. Now I know this is going to be a long haul, but it will all work out. The friends on this site help a great deal. THANK YOU! Yes, I'm shouting so you can all hear me.

Thanks for your words of encouragement, MizT. I am hoping for the same result, but I really haven't had much time to worry about it. As Gail says: It is what it is. Life is full of trials and tribulations.

Heidi, it won't be long before you can enjoy your sunroom ... great news. If it was me I would be so excited I would probably sleep in there for the first week or so!

Morning all!
Theresa, I am so glad you shared what was happening with us so we could be there along the journey.

MizT, I think you mentioned the pipe once before. It came on top of a series of house problems if I remember correctly. Of course I probably don't! Good news that the fan seems to have done some of the work for you. I'm hoping that means no 2 days of the sloshy thing!

Heidi, you have to export George! If I ever get to do the things I want to do I want him to do them!!

Happy morning here this morning. That's my Ally over in the birthday box! She's 14 and is setting up her new phone. Of course it wasn't the top of the line one with the qwerty keyboard that she wanted, but it has a camera and expandable memory etc etc.

Evening all!
I've been showing Ally the birthday messages and she loves them!! She has been spoiled rotten today - 2 friends brought cake to school and one vegan muffins, she had 2 balloons to carry around all day, got presents etc etc. Sometimes having to go to school on your birthday is a good thing!!

Three has found a place in a shelter/homeless youth accomodation. They can stay there for a maximum of 3 months, but this group works with another group who are helping them find more permanent accomodation. I know I wouldn't want my child in a place like that, but he feels like he's imposing on us. We will give him an open invitation to come back if it's horrible. We have an extra person for the afternoon so can't really talk to him until later tonight.

I'm sorry that he feels like he's imposing, Suzy, but that shows the extreme difference between Three and his family. They have NO problem with imposing on you.
The good part about this is that the shelter should report his case to Social Services (if it works remotely like here) so there should be eyes watching those losers.

Hi Heidi and anyone else about.
Last night was the first night for me.
I just had a run through with my lines with Greta who is the director and who seems to do everything else as well. Lol. Trying to find my voice, so to speak. !! Hehehe
Thursday night we are doing a photo shoot for the poster for the play.
I will arrive at 5.30pm and she is going to do the stage make up on my face.
I will go with my hair spiked and purple nail polish done already.
Purple. My fav. colour. Woweeeee !!!
Will be dressed in mostly black I think.
I will get someone to take a pic on my camera if I can so you can all see what I look like.
Arrghghghghhghg.
Thank heavens it is not until November.

I met Greta when I was working at Timbertown.
She had a performing arts group and she had some children that would dress up in period costume and walk around the park etc.
She does not work there anymore and one day she approached me when I was at Cafe 66 and said I am doing a dinner theatre play.
I have written a part just for you!!
I nearly fell off my chair, I said you must be kidding Greta. I have never acted.
Oh yeah right she says, I just watch you here at the cafe and I reckon you will be perfect. Hehehe
It is a play about Dracula's 5,000th birthday.
I am playing, Frankenstein's mother.
My name is Esmerelda.
It is not a big play or a big cast.
About 8 others I think, but I am the only one who has not done anything like this before.
It is a bit daunting to say the least but I am giving it a go.
It is on at the end of November, there will be 5 performances.
A three course meal and the show for $35 a head.
At a place here near Port Macquarie, at Telegraph Point.
There is a place called the Old Butter Factory and we are doing it there.

She has a booking already for 40 people.
Everyone I mention it to reckons I will be good at it and that they are coming to see it.
Talk about put my head on the chopping block !! lol
Thinking of you Theresa, at least you can have some me time in here.
Today I had an Avon sales meeting where I collected my pin for attaining presidents club and a Mrs. Albee plate and a certificate. You needed to sell $17,500 of Avon in a certain time frame and I managed $20,145.
The banquet is in Coffs Harbour on the 20th August for all the high achievers.
Off to watch Masterchef, only on for half an hour tonight.
Should give me a chance to finish the first dog coat I am knitting for my gf Helen.
She has two dogs so if this one fits okay I can start the next one.

Morning all, and thank you for the kind thoughts.

Suzy, will Three get any type of counselling at the shelter? If so, it sounds like it could be a good thing for him. Of course your place is good too ... teaches him what a family should be like.

Viv, the theatre group sounds like fun. Congrats on beating the Avon minimum and going to the banquet ... you are one busy lady!

Broni, I understand about the extra day with D&D. If it makes you feel better, then that's what you should do. We all like to finish what we started.

Well, off to feed my daughter's dog and cats, give meds, etc., etc., etc. My SIL is going to work late this morning so he can drive the oldest grandie to school (it is her last day today for summer). TTFN.

Viv, the performance sounds like fun. Sometimes other people know us better than we know ourselves. I spent 25 years working in retail before becoming a teacher and a lot of family/friends told me (after) that that is what I should have been doing all along.

Theresa, remember to pop your head in here occasionally. We have strong shoulders for you to lean on. I hope it helps to know that your sudoku family is here to help.

I spoke with Heidi on skype this weekend and got a peek at the sun room. It is going to be wonderful when done. I hope she posts pictures for everyone else.

OMG - I get busy and can't visit here for 2 days and so much has happened.
Theresa - thanks for sharing with us and I'm sending you good vibes and big hugs. Good vibes also for the quickest possible recovery time for your daughter and for the best possible outcome of your squishy test problem.
Suzy - Three sounds like a kid to be proud of - not to kick out. Still disgusted with his Mum.
Viv - what a terrific amount of Avon sales - you certainly are a high-achiever!
Broni - sorry you have another day with D&D!

Car not back yet though. We're phoning in the morning for the good/bad news on it.

Heidi, sounds like wonderful progress on your sun-room, congrats. Before long, you will be sitting in sun room chatting with us! I know you will enjoy.

CynB, glad you have power restored. I think I missed the story about that, must have happened while I was away. Hope there is good news about your auto.

Theresa, any thing new on daughter's treatment yet? I forgot when you would know. Will having the children home for summer be more of a problem for her or less? I know my girls at that age were great at fetching things for me, but I did not have 2 so close in age to squabble.

OH, I forgot to eat breakfast. Well have not been up THAT long, really slept in today, hand kept me awake till 2 am, meds just did not work last night. But it is time to get something to eat. Hugs to all, catch you later.

MizT, my daughter has her MRI on July 7 (I think), and then I don't know how long it will be for her to hear the results.

I think maybe having the girls home all summer will be harder. They are really not old enough to be a great help, and I think they will soon be bored at home. Thankfully the backyard has a really nice play structure and a small wading pool and they both love being outdoors, so that helps.

My SIL's mom dropped in this afternoon and is currently at the park with the girls, and then she is providing supper for them all. I was just over helping my daughter with some little things. Her leg is still really swollen, so she has gone for a nap while the kids are out. I think I mentioned my SIL's mom retired last week or the week before, I can't remember, and she plans on spending a fair bit of time here this summer as well. She is also going to babysit the kids one day a week so my daughter can go to work. She's a really nice person.

As Tami would say, time to fling food, or at least think about it. TTFN.

Hi all! I'm back but flat out at the moment and haven't had a moment to get on line. I have read all and I'm thinking of you all.
The weekend was wonderful but as usual we tried to fit too much in. The party was a great success and Jem got lots of lovely presents for her 21st. We took her shopping on Saturday and she chose a ring from Mum, my sister and I.
Saturday night the family gathered at our unit and we watched football, ate takeaway and just generally had a great evening. Sunday was breakfast with the family and then it was time to leave. We picked up the boys in Maryborough - they had gone to stay with their other cousin on Saturday night. Arrived home about 2pm, took Mum back to Ipswich and then Katrina to the airport and finally home at 7:30pm absolutely exhausted.
We are busy at work. The boss has chosen the busiest time of the year to set up a new website (Way to go Boss!!!). We are stocktaking for the end of the year and I am trying to get organised with the accounts, payroll etc. Guess why I haven't been on line? I haven't even had time to do a puzzle in days!
It's time to run again. Breakfast and then off to work again.
I'll be baaaaack!
