Heidi, so sorry to hear about Rain. A friend of mine had the same thing happen to her elderly female Dalmatian ... the vet put her on hormones and that seemed to help for a while. However, she is now facing the same decision you are.

I've got 2 more days to prepare myself. The Vet Clinic can't fit Rain in until Monday. I'm feeling very relieved.

Heidi, thinking of you. I know it is going to be hard but it is for the best. Rain is probably not enjoying it either and at least she had a wonderful home for her last home. I will try to call you later so Dylan can cheer you up.
Good thoughts going out to everyone else. We were going to go to the beach today but the weather is not the best. Also, we watched "Jaws" last night and not sure if the boys want to go swimming in the ocean.

Isn't it funny? The thought of going to the beach is furthermost from my mind! It is freezing and raining. Sometimes the time and place difference still gets me. Have fun Tami.

Heidi, how's it going friend?

5am here, don't you hate it when you wake up fully awake when you know you can sleep in but can't get back to sleep?

Know the feeling Gail.
Sorry I have not been around much. Had a very enjoyable bus trip the other day. Drove north, then circled around and came back through some more isolated areas, following a river. Stopped at an "outback" type place for an old fashioned, home made hamburger for lunch. A small coach with just 14 people.
When I got home I picked up Laura and she has kept me occupied since. Ken got home early yesterday.
The cat wanted to be fed, she gets furr balls, and while I have been sitting here I now know I have to go and clean up the last meal!

Cyn, sorry you have the worry about your MIL. I was pleased to hear they are getting lots of home help but still a big worry if they send her back home.

Your sunroom will not look as big when you put all your birds and furniture in it Heidi. I know because it is about the same size as my room.
Please get well all those with hurty hands and heads and other complaints. I am going to go curl back in a warm bed with the Sunday paper!

Good to hear your sunroom is coming along Heidi, but sad to hear about Rain.
Broni, have you started your new job yet?
Tami, watching "Jaws" would put you off swimming somewhat!
Hi Gail. I am sure your fire will be going.
I have had the inside and outside ones going lately.

G'Day, All!

I'm just popping in without reading. I hope everyone is well or getting well!

D and SIL took a day off from packing, and we all took the grandies to a small zoo. Heidi, I thought of you, as they gave camel rides - only on the Dromedary camels, not the Bactrian. I'm not sure who was more worn out - grandies or adults. It was a beautiful sunny day and not too humid. There was a well-trained family-owned 36-year-old elephant who worked from voice commands only. It was amazing to watch.

Sending hugs and positive vibes to all and extras and prayers to those in need. I'm trying to read a page a day, but don't have time to post.

Greetings friends. A day of T storms has kept me off line today. I hear thunder and computer goes off now.

Had a lovely birthday lunch yesterday, at a nice little fish restaurant, they do lovely fish, grilled. I wanted desert as a birthday treat, but they only had fried pies, turnovers, and I said no to those. We went to an antique mall, and walked around looking at things. Came home and had my tomato sandwich for dinner, it was yummy!

Julie, love the father's day avatar, nice.

Heidi, sorry to hear about Rain. Will be thinking about you Monday.

Teresa, hope your daughter is better soon, and you manage with all the help she needs.

hubby calling me to join him watvhing TV, caych you all later.

Rolanda - how was the Rose Garden place? When we came to Perth we wanted to go to one (can't remember the name if it now) but time got away from us as it always does on a holiday.

Afternoon all!
Heidi, glad you got 2 more days with Rain to spoil her a little and say your goodbyes. I think it does help.

June, I think about your friend all of the time. Mostly I think 'enough is enough'. I hope the pain is temporary and doesn't continue through the whole treatement.

MizT, lovely fresh tomatoes on very fresh white bread with a lot of salt - my favourite way to eat them. Notice how all of the health effects are negated? It sounds like your birthday was wonderful...

Rolanda, it sounds like you have just had a perfect 3 days. I'm so glad as they are well earned.

Julie, was the day off supposed to revive you or just wear the grandies out so they wouldn't mind all of the packing? We will know you are thinking of us even if you don't post as we are thinking of you.

Tami, I wish I had your energy! I blame sitting in front of this thing too much.

Hugs to everyone, including those who don't really need one right now, but especially for those who do need one.

Morning all. June, your friend is on my mind a lot also .......

Suzy, I checked out the pictures of Nom Nom and all I can say is awwwwww, no wonder that little kitty has worked her way into your heart and onto your lap.

Thanks for popping in Julie ... glad you had a day out with the grandies.

Rolanda, your visit with your relatives sounded enjoyable - hope you're not too tired out.

My daughter will be immobile at least until her appointment at the hospital on Tuesday. The pain has "somewhat" subsided. A neighbour loaned her a wheelchair so she is able to get around a little bit in the house. SIL's mom is coming a few days this week to help with the kids.

It's just after 4:30 AM, but I went to bed at 8:30 last night. I have a case I have to finish for tomorrow, so of course instead of working on it I am here chatting. Gotta run. TTFN.

Hi all. Went to my doctor friday and she is pleased with my progress. Finally feel that the cough is starting to get a little better. She did tell me that it can take 6-8 weeks so I have 4-6 more. Getting ready to go out for dinner. The 4 of us, my in-laws, hubby's sister and her husband and daughter. The 9 of us should have a great time.

Morning all!
Tami, glad to hear you are improving. A nasty cough can end up being painful. Hope your dinner is wonderful.

Nola, how many to go before you have a little break?

Theresa, great news about the wheelchair. Some independence for your daughter which is good for both of you. I'm not surprised you fell asleep early last night.

I had my hair cut last week and nobody at all noticed. Not one person. This is what happens when you have frizzy hair - it looks the same no matter what you do. So I bought myself some hair dye. I figure maybe they'll notice that. Nothing too radical though so probably not...

Hubby has been getting frustrated as it costs more and more to get his hair cut and he is less and less happy with the job they are doing. He can only go to places that don't do colouring because of the smell. About a week ago he asked me to cut it with clippers. I've never used clippers in my life!! Last night I finally worked up the courage - and it doesn't look too bad at all. I'm quite puffed up about it.

It's just me, Three and the animals home today. The young frisky lawn mower has his head over the back fence letting me know I haven't fed him yet, the old lady lawn mower is standing right where I feed them looking hopeful, the dogs are resigned to being stuck outside while Three has their cold weather room, the birds are chirping like crazy - especially when they see Nom Nom. Nom Nom has found a bell and is rolling it around, pouncing on it, doing backflips over it...
