BTW, I just tried to vote for the second time, but it won't let me. Not looking good though, in 7th place for MizT's and 24th place for Julie's and there's only two days left.

Grass-hopper and hubby got really lost. At least they got to see a lot of Kentucky scenery. They got here so late that I ended up fixing supper for them and they're spending the night.
Linda used my 'pooter to post on Easy while I was cooking. Pork loin, spinach souffle and fruit compote.
They are both wonderful people. IH is crazy about them, too. How could anyone not be?

Thinking of you and your Mum too June!

Heidi, I hope you have a great time with Grasshopper and co. Wish I was with you all!

Theresa, how can it be going down with all this voting!!!??? Sigh.

I notice my earlier post came in under posts I didn't know were there. I guess I posted before my morning coffee - sorry all!

I notice I didn't tell you how yesterday went. It ended up with Ally supposed to be doing 4 songs with Mohawk, three with a girl friend and one on her own. All of the duets were either in parts or with harmony - but only one microphone worked!! They ended up leaving one song out and doing the others with only one singing. It didn't sound as good as it should but I was proud of the kids for giving it a good go in bad conditions!

I voted about 5pm and it will not let me vote again. Playing bowls again tomorrow. I have not played for three weeks.
It certainly is wonderful to have sudoku friends all around the world that will care for you in your hour of need. Enjoy your time together Heidi and Linda.

Good morning from my hot and hazy world.

Heidi, great to hear that Linda made it. How nice for you to fix supper and provide a place for them to stay. It must have been a bit frightening for them to find themselves lost!

Suzy, so glad Ally managed to overcome the problems.

June, have fun at bowls.

Off to grab a coffee and will be back later. I've been up since 4:00 AM and a load of swearing is already in the dryer.

Theresa, I hope you are feeling a bit better and after being up so early you get a chance to have a nap later. I find with so much going on I get very tired at times, and I have not got that excessive heat to contend with that you have at the moment! The mental anguish of having a sick family also takes it's toll.

Hello all - thought I should check in before I go to bed.
Pleased Linda found you eventually Heidi and that all is going well there in Kentucky!
June - I felt guilty today, driving past where my Mum's Care home is because I was in a hurry. I should have given up even 30 mins of my time and gone in to visit her and not put it off - I feel even more guilty now that I read it's your late Mum's birthday.
Suzy - glad the kids managed OK yesterday even with the microphone difficulties.
Night all!

YS:3112_ys_416.jpg] everybody.
Linda and Warren are still asleep. They had a long day yesterday, poor dears. Today they plan on hitting some local sites, like Abraham Lincoln's birthplace and the Coca Cola Museum, before heading south to another member's place in Tennessee (I'm embarrassed to admit I forgot her name), on their way to Graceland, Elvis's home in Memphis.
The mistake yesterday was that they accidentally got off at exit 94 on the interstate instead of exit 91, then tried to wing it. At least they got to see sights like tobacco growing in the fields and in various stages of harvest. It can be a strange sight since it's so different than any other crop.

Good Morning form soggy Alabama. I think we had misty rain all night. I know it was raining when I went to bed, and raining when I got up again. It is cooler though and that is good. This is the kind of rain that soaks in down deep instead of running off, and that is good too.

Heidi, glad your guests found their way and you were able to feed and lodge them overnight. Be sure to make them grits for breakfast today hehehe. They need a taste of southern food. You missed a chance to feed them okra last night.

Suzy, how unfortunate the mike problems were, after all the practice of songs in harmony. But they were troopers, and went on with a performance.

Theresa, that is tooo early for swearing, girl hehehe. No sloshy thing for me today, they would never dry in this rain.

June, enjoy bowls today/tomorrow, whenever. did all the aprons get to daughter all finished?

Good Morning Rolanda, what is happening in your world? Good to see you pop in, een if that is the shortest message ever. We know you are up and mobile, you made it to your puter, and you have electricity so you paid your power bill. All that from 2 little words hehehe.

Hubby enjoyed his bowl of beans and cornbread yesterday. I told him he has to enjoy a few more times, a pound of beans makes a LOT.

I do want to thank each of you for voting to help with the dogs for autistic children. I do appreciate the time and energy you pup into that. Guess they figured out we were double dipping with all the extra votes??

My coffee has dripped, and it smells good. It is time for first cup. Hugs to all and catch you later.

Just came back from the store to get a few groceries for us and something for my daughter (store is air conditioned ... yippeeee).

MizT, I don't have a clothes line outside, just a dryer. I pretty well need to use a dryer because of all the cats. I did have a clothes line until it broke, but even a nice breeze didn't take the cat hair off like the dryer does. Plus I find with the dryer there is less ironing to do. Please excuse me for all the swearing!

Off to have another coffee so I can stay awake. I don't want to have a nap today because it might interfere with my sleep tonight. I think I've been napping too much lately and it's messing up my nightly sleep. TTFN.

Linda and Warren just left. They didn't want breakfast, only coffee. Warren really slept in.... he was exhausted both from the driving and from their son calling them in the wee hours of the morning.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again... Sudoku folks are the best!!! I felt like we had been lifelong friends.

Theresa, I have found for lint, wrinkles and cat hair all, if I put clothes from washer into dryer for 10 minutes, then hang on clothes hangers and put outside, no wrinkles, no lint and no cat hair.Plus, they are ready for closet when I bring them in. I just do not see paying for heat to dry clothes when there is all that free heat outside

Heidi, glad you had a nice visit, sorry Linda and hubby missed the grits for breakfast {wink}

Theresa, I do not usually have a problem sleeping after I have a nap, if it is not too late in the day. In fact, I am ready for one now. Still misty, dull, cloudy, damp and cool, good napping weather. Better than stormy weather, with noisy thunder boomers.

Catch you all later, hugs to everyone with extras.

MizT, I have tried putting clothes, etc., in the dryer for 10 minutes, but that doesn't seem to work on the cat hair. I think it's because we have more than a few cats at any given time (right now we have 6 in the house). However, our hydro company has "time of use" guides and if you stay within certain hours the hydro is cheaper. So if I do laundry between 9:00 PM and 7:00 AM or on weekends it's 4 cents per kwh cheaper. Until we get the number of cats down, that will have to do.

Our area has become really developed since we moved in. The way our previous clothesline was it was running parallel to the road, right next to the road. I would like to get an umbrella type clothes line for the backyard to replace the old one. I still hang blankets, comforters, etc. across lawn chairs in the yard because they take so long to dry.

Good morning all.
Delivered aprons to daughter yesterday but have not spoken to her since. It was a quick exchange as she had a bus load of children arriving at the Sydney Olympic site and we pulled up in a no parking zone and just handed them over. She is taking some other students away tonight so I have to go to her place to stay to feed the animals again. I will go this afternoon and came back tomorrow afternoon after the horses are fed!

June, your girls certainly keep you busy! I thought things would slow down once mine leave home but I'm not hopeful now...

Theresa, I have the best clothes line! It's an umbrella type one, though I've never heard it called that before. There is at least a foot between each round, 6 rounds. If I wanted I could hang 8 queen size sheets on just the last round! I nearly lost it when a tree branch fell on it during one of our windy days. Then another one fell on it and it's all fixed. Phew!

I've got something weird going on with my eyes, though I think I discovered yesterday that it was just my right eye. I don't remember exactly when but one day I was seeing fire works. Just for a few minutes. Then about 10 days ago my eye felt itchy and my vision went blurry - like I had something in my eye only there wasn't anything there. I rubbed it and if anything it got worse. It happened again last night and I noticed that when my right eye was shut there was no blurriness. I covered my left eye and just looked out the right - almost completely white! There was one tiny little spot that I could sort of see through!! After a few minutes it was back to normal, or close to. WEIRD!!

Suzy, I would get that checked out if I were you. Listen to me, young lady!!!!

Canada has now lost 152 soldiers since the Afghanistan mission started in 2002. The photo of the latest young man is on the news ... he looks so young. Oh how I wish our boys and girls could come home. RIP Cpl. Brian Pinksen.

We are under a "heat advisory" here. That is when "feels like" temperatures are a minimum of 40C for at least two days in a row. I have spent most of the day in the house.

Time to fling food. TTFN.

Suzy, your clothes line sounds like the one I'm looking for. I've been checking them out, and I would need to get the kind that has a base that you sink into the ground.

I've got supper in the oven and I'm staying out of the kitchen for now. Phew, it's hot in there.

Theresa, mine is a Hills Hoist and is concreted into the ground. That was always pretty standard here, but I think things are changing. Most are not as big as mine - which came with the house - and I love it!!

The development that I live in will not allow us to put up a clothes line. My mom does not have one and the apartment I grew up in did not have one. My grandmother had one behind her apartment building and I remember her hanging up her clothes. I am so used to using the dryer I don't know if I could function without it. I do have a small clothes rack in the garage that I use to hang the stuff that I don't want to dry. It has about 10 bars and I can get one or two items per bar.
