MizT, we have Sweet Tarts here too (yes, they still sell them), but Rockets are something different. They are not as tart as Sweet Tarts and a lot smaller. I love Sweet Tarts too.

Theresa, I wonder if what you call rocket candies are "smarties" here. Similar to sweettarts but not quite the same.

Heidi, your idea of a SA commune sounds good. Book a room for me.
Don't remember most of what i have read. It has been a long day and I am almost ready for be. Also, I am having a chat with my niece by way of instant message. She is in Boston. I am glad she likes to chat with me.

I got some good news today. My friend Barbara is going to be moving back to Florida. Her husband got a job nearby and he will be here in a week. He will stay with her brother and she will come back and forth for a little until they get a house and get packed. We have been friends since high school and think of each other more as sisters. She moved to Georgia in 2007 and I really miss her. When Dylan was born I had a problem with day care for a few weeks. She volunteered to help out one day a week. I will finally have my "partner in crime" back in town.

Good morning everyone - started early today, but then get distracted! Hope everyone is well and happy. :)

Thanks for all the comments, advice, etc. I think we have a hard road ahead, and I don't think Dad has ANY idea how hard!

It takes all the talk about (candy/sweets/lollies) to remind me that there are VERY few that I actually like! If it ain't chocolate, why bother!! (I could be a little narrow minded, I guess ...)

Tami, how great to have your friend living close by again! Bet you'll both get up to trouble now! ; )

I didn't give anything away Gail!! Did you read the series?

Tami, that sounds like news to make anyone smile!

Heidi, I'm all for moving into your commune - but would I have to chase bulls?

Judy - I agree with you - If it ain't chocolate, why bother!! - with one exception - licorice allsorts. I don't buy them often because if I do, I will just keep eating them and make myself ill but, oh, what a way to go!
Tami - good news about the return of your friend.

Gout is acting up again. I'm getting tired of this. I've had too many flare-ups recently.

Heidi, they haven't come up with any new, "miracle" treatments for gout? My Mum gets it in her toes, and it's absolute misery ... hope yours is better soon.

Smarties? I found them here

http://www.amazon.com/Candy-Smarties-160-pieces-unit/dp/B000PD5G5G

Smarties are what I was remembering, but I never knew them by that name, my girls called them sweet tarts, go figure.

TAMI, so good for you that your friend is moving back again. I know you are looking forward to her arrival. Looking forward to hear of your double trouble episodes together hehehe.

Judy, if there were chocolate and smarties on the table, I would not look at or even think about the smarties. But if no chocolate was around, I would be tempted. With chocolate, I am not tempted, I am addicted! Now you wouls have to mention chocolate right here at bedtime when none in the house. Hummm, did hubby eat the last chocolate pudding at dinner, or is there one serving left??

SUZY, nope, don't think we would chase bulls, but you would have to go and milk them! Heidi, save me a room also, please. I will probably get there first, being closest to you.

CynB, I do not know what licorice allsorts are, something else to look up, but I LOVE black (licorice flavor) jelly beans. My Dad and I almost fought over them at Easter. I found a whole bag of them recently, brought them home and Al who likes them as much as I, ate all of them. OK it was a small bag, just a few ounces, but I am not sure that would have mattered.

Heidi, do you have medication for the gout? are you on a preventative, or just when a flare starts up? I do hope you get this bout under control sooner than later. Feel better, friend.

I did something else "new" today. may not sound like much but I turned off the stove today with my left hand! My stove is electric, and it is a big click to turn it off, takes a bit of force. You do not know how many times I have started to turn it off and have to put down whatever was in my right hand and reach over (controls on left of cooktop) to turn it on or off. I hope I can continue to do this little thing.

HEIDI, I think the 'pinch the orthopedic putty' exercise is helping strengthen. Thanks again. It is a wonder I have not worn a hole clean through already I have pinched so much. I am up to 20 times, repeated 3 times a day. OK, some days I only get in 2 times but I do exercises every day.

I should be getting sleepy, it is late. Maybe a little, so I shall go and play solitaire till I am sleepy enough for bed.

Good night friends, Goodnight Moon

Heidi, the movie is called 'Tommorrow when the war began', based on a series of 7 books plus a follow up trilogy by Australian young adults author, John Marsden. Brilliant series.
Yes Suzy, I definitely did read them all. Son had it first as a year 7 English novel and my sister told me I'd get hooked. Chloe then got onto them, and she and I would wait anxiously for the next book to come out. In fact, we are now buying our third set, as some books of the other times we bought them went walkabout!

Hi everyone.
Just got home but going out again at about 4.15pm to take son to work, about 8.30pm pick up son from work, then at 9.30pm take son out and across on ferry to the North Shore where he is staying with mates overnight and tomorrow night.

I heard about that Suzy on the radio.

Hubby was naughty yesterday morning.
On the way to work he went through a stop sign on his motorbike.
You guessed it, around the corner the cops were sitting.
He could not believe the fine. $258 !!
The cop said, write and appeal it, as it is 20 years since you last had points taken off your licence. I have written out the letter for him.

Suzy - loved the link about the wife and mistress!
Hmmm - we have those 'smarties' thingys here but I don't know what they're called. Our Smarties here in Australia are similar to (but better, IMHO) M&M's.
Licorice Allsorts - now I feel hungry!

You know what Cyn, I would have said the same re Smarties vs M&Ms, but I recently had a packet of Smarties and they just don't hold a candle to M&Ms, especially the crispy ones, oh and the peanut one...and the regular ones too :)
