MizT, glad your back is feeling better. My arthritis is much better today - I think a good sleep last night helped. It sure is nicer for sleeping when it's cool and the humidity is gone.

Heidi, hope your feeling better soon.

Nice to see you, Julie. Hope all is well!!

I did notice yesterday's winds were different. The clouds were moving east, but the tree tops were bending westward. We sometimes feel the effects of hurricanes, but usually only the ones that travel further inland.

Thinking of all the weather problems for the folks down under. Gail force winds, hmmmmm.

I am doing a fair bit of swearing today. On the fourth load of the sloshy thing. Also have to sew curtains. We have two archways in our living/dining area and we bought curtains for them. I have one set hemmed (8 panels), and now I have to do the others (four panels). I am also hoping to do some cooking so that I can freeze things for the next hot spell, although those should be few and far between by now I hope.

Theresa, that is a lot of work you are doing today. Glad the arthritis is feeling better.
Tricia, glad your back is feeling better also.
Heidi,I hope the infection is getting better and not the cause of you feeling sick. Hope you feel better soon.
I noticed a few houses for sale in my neighborhood. I wonder if I can convince my friend to move this close???

Morning all!
Bright sunshine and no wind this morning. One school is partially closed due to damage and another because it still doesn't have power. My girls are groaning and moaning because their's is open... Ebob swears I told her she could sleep in until 10. She won't believe that that makes absolutely no sense on a school day. Ally is giving me attitude because she has to wear the school pants she doesn't like because I didn't wash the ones she does. It's all my fault we were asked not to use water!!!

Suzy, you should know by now that you are the cause of all the problems in the world. At least that's what my teenager thinks. He thinks I am treating him like a 5 year old because I put a parental block on the TV. To access adult content you need the 4 digit code. Not letting him watch adult movies is treating him like a 5 year old???

Theresa, I'll be running a bit of stuff through the sloshy thing today too. There is no mention of continued problems on the news so... I hope you aren't overdoing it so the aches and pains come back! It sounds like you didn't get any wind damage at home - thank goodness!

MizT, you have such a great memory - we do get winds every year around this time. They are usually strong, but more the 50-80kph type than the 110kph type. Those ones are thankfully not common! Your hubby did well, especially before coffee!!

Tami, your friends are in for a busy and lonely time - but I'm sure it will be worth it in the end. It's a shame your friend isn't the one who is going to be 5 minutes away...

Tami and Suzy, don't you know by now that parents are always wrong and that everything we do is done in order to upset our kids? Trust me, eventually they turn into real human beings. When our daughter was a teenager we would say aliens stole our daughter and substituted her with what we had at the time.

Hi Broni.

In case you hadn't noticed, I'm taking frequent breaks. Oh well, back at it.

Good morning all - just read 3 pages and can't remember anything much.
Bad weather in Oz over the weekend - Suzy, glad it's improved today.
Heidi/MizT and anyone else not well or in pain - feel better soon.
Judy - Oh, I do feel for you, my Mother has said things like that to me, and once when we were trying to leave my Dad he wouldn't let us go and the staff were holding him while we had to literally peel his fingers off the door surrounds so that we could close it. What a bad feeling - cried for hours.
Have a nice day all and {{{hugs}}} to those who need them.

Both last night and today I have been prevented from posting after a couple of posts. Does anyone know if we are now limited to a certain number? Is Gath preventing posts that refer to a certain on-line encyclopedia? (References to it seem to be what has been in posts which have been prevented.

I had found information about "Rockets" (Canadian) and "Smarties" (US), which appear to be essentially the same thing.

I also tried to post links about "Smarties" (European) and M&Ms, which are similar, though I've heard these Smarties are better than M&Ms.

I guess it just didn't like the links I provided to that online "encyclopedia," since the post with the names of the candies went through.

Hi Tami, Zusy, Theresa, Nola, CynB and Julie.
Woo hoo! I finally have my house back, just Maggie the cattle dog is still here for a couple more days when Teresa is not working. I know Bella is going to be very lonely. Took Bella to the pound yesterday to meet an abandoned Basset but the two girls did not get along...oh well.

Cyn, that's why I used that word, wondering if it would go through for me.

Hi Broni, so happy you're getting your life back. Good luck with another dog. We had a female dog years ago who just did not get along with other females, but loved any male dogs.

Still plugging away at swear words. I have no idea where this burst of energy is coming from - must be the cooler weather.

MizT, I hope your back is feeling better by now!

Heidi, I hope your gout has improved and you have an appointment with your dentist! I'm so glad Al found the cause of the over-heated electrical odor! Thank goodness you were both diligent and found it before it could cause problems or damage!

I hope the strong winds have moved on and away from Suzy and Theresa! Praying that no one is having to deal with the flooding!

Suzy, the area my friend is looking in won't be more than 15-20 minutes from my house. In Florida, that is considered around the corner. We will be up to lots of trouble in no time. I might drive up to her in Atlanta during winter break. The boys, and hopefully hubby, would go also.
