It isn't always that bad Rolanda.

Hmmm, that's going to annoy some people since the coalition won on the two party preferred vote. I'm just glad my local candidate got in as she works very hard for this electorate. Shame it will probably be her last time running.

I just hope things get done! If they're not careful everything will be hung up until there is another election...

A result at last! Only a smidgen better than the alternative.
Vicki - I guess how long it takes to go to the polls again will depend on whether Julia got the message from the public. This is no victory for her - she must prove herself now.
But my guess is about 18 months!

Good morning all. It is early here. Just got Mitchell on his school bus and had to look something up so I figured I would stop in here for a minute, first of course.
Suzy, good luck with the cut and stitch. I hope it goes smoothly.
Heidi, thinking of you and Cole today. Hope the doctor can give you some answers.
Vicki, glad you enjoyed your vacation. Hope you are able to stop in occasionally even with having to work.
Tricia, I wish I knew about rubbing scars years ago. I had a cyst removed and the stitches did not heal well. I would have loved to been able to reduce the scar.
Glad to hear the elections are over down under. Now to hope those elected can get what they promised done.

Good morning everyone. First day of school for grandies. Their dad is going to be late for work today so that he can see them off, and then after that the job will be mine in the mornings and after school. The oldest one does not like school so it will be a chore every morning to get her ready. I think I will be spending a fortune on Tylenol.

with the cut and stitch, Suzy. I'm sorry to hear that the spot is driving you crazy from the itching. It needs to go,

I have an appointment at the Vets for Cole tomorrow afternoon. They could have squeezed us in today, but I wanted more time to discuss Cole with my Vet. I didn't feel like a "squeeze in" would be enough. I do NOT want to have to euthanize the old gentleman.

Good luck with the cut and stitch Suzy...or have you already had it done (time difference)
Heidi, hope the vet will have some luck with Cole's problem, but we know you will do whatever needs to be done in his best interest.
My oldest two kids give me 15% of their take home pay for board, Emily (who has a part time job) is still a student and gets off paying board. Once she finishes Uni then she will pay board.

MizT I'm with you on loving to watch water, be it river lake or sea. I could sit and watch the sea for hours and just relax. Pity our closest sea is over 2 hours drive from us.

I forgot that I have an epidural tomorrow morning. I have to reschedule Cole for Thursday morning at 11. Unless they have a cancellation today.

I was born at the shore of a lake in Wisconsin. All of my earliest memories are of water... sights, sounds and smell. If I lived near water, I would never get anything done. I'd be spending all my time fishing, swimming, boating or beach combing.

Epidurals, spots removed, dog to vet, lots of medical proceedures. Hope they all go well.
I love looking at the water. We had a river as our back fence. We could only see the water when the river was in flood and it was a 15 minute walk to the river. There was also a creek between the house (on top of a hill) and I can remember having platypus in the creek.

Home again and I have the headache from purgatory. Hubby was given a pain pill after his procedure, and he is sleeping soundly. I need a nap after our early alarm this morning, but no way I can sleep with this headache. So I came to talk to my friends.

I have proof of how well rubbing does a scar, cause for first 6 weeks I could only reach the first 2 cenemeters ( one finger width) to rub, inside that cast. Nice flat scar, almost flesh colored. the rest of the scar that I could not reach is raised, wide and red, angry looking still. Guess that means you cannot wait 6 weeks to start rubbing, cause I did soon as cast came off, but did not improve it much if any.

Heidi, I had rather just sit and look at water than swim (must avoid sun) or fish. I do enjoy a boat ride, anything from a 2 person swan shaped paddle boat to a 40 foot sail boat.

Man I love to sail, never got to go much but loved it when I did. Grew up with a ski boat in the family, first skied at 11 years old, and loved it. Mom had a pontoon boat, they lived on the lake and I visited often. We would go out for a sunset ride, the only thing my step father was good for, only memory of him almost worth keeping.

I went deep sea fishing with a friend when I was between husbands, just for the boat ride hehehe and loved it, even if it was major waves and rough. AND I did fish, baited my own hooks too cause the snapper and grouper ( good eating fish) were biting. Took too long to wait for the bait boy to come so I got those fish off the hook myself and baited up and back to catch more! We brought home a LOT of fish fillets for the freezer. Ahh, such good memories.

Morning all!
I love walking along the beach on a day when it is just a little too cold to swim. On hot days I can feel the sun reflecting off the sand onto my face and burn just thinking about it. When we lived in LA we'd either go to the beach or the snow for new years.

MizT, I hope your headache doesn't hang around for too long. I love your sailing and fishing stories. Sigh. The difference in your scar is amazing!! I must rub mine all the time because so far I scar very well. One scar the doc couldn't even find and I had to point it out to him.

June, was that at the old place that burned down after you sold it? That would have been hard to leave!

Heidi, it can't be 3 months already!! Hope it hurts like crazy...

Suzy, the property is up for sale. Auction this Saturday. Go to Domain.co.au, then to buy, then to Wallacia and it is the 7th. one down called "Pemberton". There are 14 pictures and you can see the length of the river frontage. The property is over 30 acres less than when we sold it.
Suzy, it will soon be all over! Will it be local anaesthetic and can you drive yourself home?

Just heard from IH. He's still at the plant, with some work to do yet. There is no way that he'll be back for supper since it's over 2 hours drive home. So I'm going alone in a few minutes. At least he'll be able to drive me to the epidural tomorrow. I'm not allowed to drive myself home.

I must post to see what time it is, if Suzy has left or not, but Suzy, I would come hold your hand if I was a bit closer. I would not want to go alone, or be alone waiting to go. Glad you weree able to come read and hand out on SA, sorry I missed you.

Heidi, good luck, or should I say bad luck, on the epidural tomorrow. Hope things work out with Cole.
Both boys played baseball today and both their teams lost. They both tried their best and that is all that I ask. It was the first game of the season. The next games are Saturday.

Hi everyone! I'm home and it went well. 13 stitches, 5 of them internal. It looked like a mandarine slice about 30mm long and 15mm deep. Hubby met up with me afterwards as I wanted to wait a little while before I drove home just in case. The bandage looks huge because I'm allergic to adhesive and they had to fashion something out of non-adhesive stuff. There is a little bit on my skin, but the least offensive kind. Time to take a couple of Panadol, put some ice on it for 10 minutes, and have a nap.

Thank you so much for your thoughts! It turned out I wasn't alone as I met an amazing lady who will turn 80 on September 11th. I'll tell you about her when I wake up...

Back from supper. It was delish. The company was great, too. IH's cousin and his wife are into Animal Rescue like me. They've been active in cat rescue for years, and are just starting with a Dachshund Rescue group. They just got approved as a foster home. So we talked animals for hours. And told some stupid IH stories. He never made it there, BTW.

Cole had a good day today. He only fell down once, but is still afraid to try any steps or go through the dog door.
Now I need to feed the dogs, then go out to the barn and feed the poultry before going to bed. I won't be able to do any heavy lifting after the epidural, so I'll put out as much food and water as I can.
