I have a petition to share with those from the US. It's an appeal for religious tolerance for and from all.

Pain pills ARE good, aren't they? I accidently left mine in my truck, though. I had to take them with me to the Pain Management Clinic at the hospital.
My next epidural is on December 1st at 9 am.

Heidi, I couldn't access that petition, so I guess it must be restricted to the US. I have been reading articles about the pastor in question, and by his plans for Sept. 11 he is creating a huge problem, including problems for the American troops in Afghanistan. How I wish this book burning doesn't go through as planned!!! I've also glanced at the Facebook page ... it's hard to be believe there are so many people filled with hate.

Hi all. Dinner went well and I have tons of leftovers. I wish you guys were closer so I could feed you. I am doing it again tomorrow for hubby's family and will probably pack some surprise lunches for Friday.
Heidi, glad to hear it was a bad pr*ck. Hope it lasts a long time. Not sure what happens when it is cloudy/rainy. I will email my nephew and ask him.
Suzy, Arthur visits my index finger occasionally. I broke it as a kid and feel it now.
Viv, awesome order. I am still thinking of selling Avon but don't know if I will have the same success as you. Hubby said he would help deliver
Have to finish the swearing. I will try to come back later.

My thoughts on the idiot who wants to burn the Koran: If the media would stop paying attention to him and not give him airtime, I would help. He is trying to get publicity. They should just ignore him.

I agree about the media Tami, but it's too late now.

Glad you enjoyed your meal ... could you send some around to me via air mail?

Heidi, glad the epidural hurt.

Suzy, I sometimes have trouble unlocking my little finger on the left hand. It tends to stay stuck straight out. It also swells up and gets inflamed.

Unfortunately, the media will continue to post stories like that as long as people watch/read those stories. Sadly people continue to watch and read them. I choose not to view them.

Heidi, hope you get a good night's sleep, and that your ice pack does not leak! I have had ice to my back last few days, and mine did!

TAMI, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOURS. I am so glad your family dinner went well. I imagine it is difficult to do that large a meal after coming in from work. To do it two nights in a row is amazing.

Good Evening, Friendly Folks!

Hi, Heidi, MizTricia, Suzy, Tami, Gail, Brenda,Theresa, June, and V Viv (from page 338)!

Heidi, I agree that the temperature of the swimming pool was too warm, but you're right! It would be unthinkable nowadays for someone to walk to Lake Michigan and go swimming alone! I'm so glad it all worked out for you!

I guess I should have put a warning on my post about the river! We just grew up with lots of admonitions that the water was deep and moved quickly with some very dangerous spots. If we were ever to go out on the ice, it was VERY near the shore for ice skating. A large stone or heavy object that weighed at least as much as yourself was supposed to be pushed out onto the ice in front of where we were going to test the ice's strength. My middle brother worked at a marina along the river - and most likely took some risks that would have grounded him if our parents had found out! The reason I only mentioned liking sunsets over the water is because I grew up with the river to the west of us. I would have needed to live in Iowa to see sunrises over the water.

MizT, I'm glad your family was able to enjoy having a boat. You have such wonderful memories of those times!

Suzy, I'm glad you mentioned a very clear night on the beach! I have great memories of camping in the country or a state park near us during the summer - and being in Vermont with music camp kids - far enough from intruding lights so that we could see masses of stars, including shooting stars. It's magical, isn't it?

Heidi, I'm glad you had a horrible epidural and hope you've had a good sleep since then!

Suzy, I hope you are feeling little or no pain since your procedure! I'm so glad you met the wonderful lady and shared time and stories with her as you waited! How exciting that you and hubby will see Robin Williams as a birthday gift! He's brilliant and always seems to have new material!

Gail, I'm intrigued by all the discussion of the books and movie for Tomorrow When the War Began! I had not heard anything about it prior to it being mentioned here! I think I need to try to track down the series. Hopefully our library has it!

Brenda, thanks for mentioning looking at the property June mentioned. I need to go back and find it, as I forgot to look at it previously! I hope you and Richard enjoy/enjoyed the extended version of Avatar!

Theresa, I'm so sorry to hear how difficult the "getting ready for school" routine was today. Hopefully it will get better with each day and the girls will settle in to a routine to get things done with less stress! I hope the Tylenol helped! Was it more needed due to the stress or arthritis?

V Viv, it's always nice to see you here, even if only briefly. What a great Avon order you had! Congratulations!

June, sorry to hear you fell asleep in front of the TV! I understand how easy that is - and how it impacts sleep. Hopefully you will have a better night tonight!

Heidi, I hope you h

Hi, CynB (on this page) and all the others!

Heidi, I'm glad you have gone off to bed! I hope you feel better in the morning! Sending positive vibes! Did hubby feed the dogs?

Suzy, I hope you are not feeling much pain from your cut and stitch! Thinking of you and sending more of those positive vibes! Thanks for sharing the good news about rescue efforts for the miners!

I agree with those (Heidi, Theresa, Tami, CynB, MizT and anyone I've missed) who wish the media would ignore the FL pastor who plans to burn the Koran/Quran! The man obviously is refusing to listen to reason. It will make things SO much worse for all of the servicewomen and men in the Middle East! It will provide fodder for Al Queda! Apparently all that matters to him is that it will provide him with his 15 minutes of fame. Is it really worth it? Will our prayers work to keep him from this insanity? Unfortunately, it's all I can think of that I can do to try to prevent his actions.

Happy New Year, Tami and family! I'm glad tonight's dinner went well and hope tomorrow's goes equally well!

Nearly 11:30 here, and I really need to get ready for bed! I'm not sleeping very well at night, but can't find a way to fit in a bit of a nana nap in the afternoon to make up for it. Maybe tonight will be better.

Sending {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive vibes, prayers and good thoughts to all of you! Hope to see you tomorrow! Good Night!

JULIE, I do hope you have a great night's sleep tonight. Same wishes for me since I have stayed up so late waiting to get sleepy. Excelent summary of the posts again as usual, and I love that you are beginning to tell us a bit about your life. I wold have loved living close to a river, but a warmer river without ice hehehe.

Hugs and extras! Nite nite.

Afternoon all!
Thank you for your thoughts about my cut and stitch. It is doing very well though the itch is driving me mad. It is impossible to completely avoid adhesive and I suspect that is the culprit.

Ally was accepted to music camp! She is very excited. I hope she learns a lot and has a good time there.

Julie, I'm lucky enough to have lived on both east and west coasts (though of different countries) and so have enjoyed both sunrises and sunsets over the ocean. Magical stuff.

Which made me think of hubby and I have to brag a little. Yesterday when I woke up from my nap I realised I didn't have any of the pain killer I was allowed to have. I emailed hubby around 4.15 and asked if he could pick some up on his way home from work. Not only did he do that, but he left work immediately because he reasoned that I had no pain killers and didn't need to wait. I'm so spoiled!!

Daily anecdote: I was crossing the street in the CBD on my way from one store to another when I saw the hardest sell by a charity I have ever seen. A poor woman was being harassed into getting money out of the bank since she had no cash on her. A woman walking beside me and I stopped simultaneously and turned back to see what was happening. She said 'that was not appropriate', and I said something about hard sell. We both hesitated and thought about rescuing the woman. She was actually walked into the bank by the guy who was asking for money!!

Good morning all, another rainy cool day here.

Julie, I needed the Tylenol for both stress and the arthritis. The oldest grandie dislikes school and yesterday she started (on her second day of school) saying she wanted to stay home. We have no idea why. She has attitude and she's stubborn as well, so it can be very trying to get her ready. I keep telling my daughter the grandie is 7 going on 15. Boy, are they going to have their hands full when she is an actual teenager.

Suzy, if someone accosted me for money like that, it would just make me dig my heels in deeper and refuse. I can't believe they actually went to the bank!!!!

Well, off to have a coffee, but it will have to be inside unfortunately. See you all later.

Suzy that is highly illegal over here. Charity collectors are not even supposed to rattle their boxes to get us to notice them.

Yes Brenda, but we don't know what it is. She is a very sensitive little girl and her feelings get hurt really easily. I'm thinking something along the lines of maybe getting shunned by a friend. They can't really verbalize their feelings too much at that age.

Thanks Suzy - I've calmed down and love him again!
I would think that is not legal here - charities cannot force a person to donate anything. I agree with Brenda - sounds more like a con!
Theresa's grandie sounds like our Emily - who often refuses to go to school, makes her Dad late for work and in general has become quite hard to control - but in her case we know what's wrong with her - she's been rejected by her Mum and as she says 'Dad, why don't I have a family like other kids?' - how do you answer that?
Other news on that front - Divorce is in progress, Andrew filed last week. Ex-wife has broken up with new boyfriend who rang my son and asked 'was she always a psycho who didn't want you to have friends?' (Yes!!) And now she's threatening that if Andrew doesn't teach Em some manners she won't take her for her fortnightly access visit.
How does anyone deal with that??

SUZY, BRENDA, that was also my first thought, con men. Here also there are rules about charity solicitations, they can ask, but that behavior would not be allowed. Suzy, you do lead an interesting life, or is it you are just more observant? See more than some?

Cyn, hubbies can be so annoying sometimes. We love them, but sometimes I just want to slap mine up side of the head.

We don't think the grandie is being bullied at school. Now that her younger sister is in school full days it might improve. I was wondering if before she might not be a bit jealous that her sister got to stay home some days with mom while she had to go to school. Plus little things like the boy she likes (yes, she's only 7) likes some one else better, but he said if it doesn't work out with the other one he will pick her. Go figure! Also, could the attitude be epilepsy related? Her doctor says if this continues too long that perhaps she should go to a child psychologist. Time will tell. I just hate starting every morning with a fight. I don't want her thinking of me as the grandma that nags her all the time!
