Morning all
Just a quick drop in this morning - I'm going to learn how to make cappuccinos today! Might drink one or two while I'm there...

Nola, good luck! Did you read the news story about the woman who is going to jail for neglecting her kids? They had scabies, among other things.

Happy Birthday Tami!!

Cyn, it's raining at Coffs - they will still play! Glad I'm not up there standing in it.

Gotta run! First cleaning roster at church, home for a shower and then off to take Mum shopping. I should be home again by 5pm (maybe). Saturdays used to be fun - I wonder what happened. I guess I grew up.

Enjoy your day!

Funny and true.
My last class of the day is a planning period. Yesterday I was asked to watch a class for a teacher who had to leave to get her sick kid from preschool. I get to the class and the students already had their work. They were working very quietly until suddenly one of the boys passed gas and cracked up the whole class. It was funny. Luckily the class got back to work quickly.

Another funny and true.
When I walk my students to lunch I tell them to be quiet or they will walk holding my hand. That is usually enough. Today I turn to one of my boys and tell him to be quiet or he will hold my hand. He says ok and comes grabs my hand. Another boy says he wants to also and holds my other hand. Just then another teacher walk by and starts laughing. One of the boys comments that I would make a great cougar. I told them both to get back in line. I think my threat backfired today.

Paddy goes to the vet with his goldfish.

"I think it's got epilepsy" he tells the vet.

Vet takes a look and says "It seems calm enough to me".

Paddy says, "I haven't taken it out of the bowl yet".

Paddy was driving home, p****d as a newt, suddenly he has to swerve to avoid a tree, then another, then another.

A cop car pulls him over as he veers about all over the road.

Paddy tells the cop about all the trees in the road.

Cop says "For sake Paddy, that's your air freshener swinging about!"

An old Irish farmer's dog goes missing and he's inconsolable.

His wife says "Why don't you put an advert in the paper?"

He does, but two weeks later the dog is still missing.

"What did you put in the paper?" his wife asks.

"Here boy" he replies.

“You dumb- ,” she says, “The dog’s got no money to buy a paper!”

They're feeling a little better. I sterilized an exacto knife, slashed the blisters, drained them then packed them with antibiotic ointment.

I wish I had called mine off before it had taken place, too, Viv.

What was I thinking are words that come to mind for me.
But I have been with him since age 16 and so have just gone along but I think in all the time I have been with him the last couple of months have been the worst. As far as this emotional crap is concerned.

Good maeN Sudokuland. another lovely fall day today. I was out and about, had a car picnic at my favorite park while in town for library and a few groceries. There were some huge limbs in the water, lodged up against the bank. Rain the other day must have washed them from somewhere upstream. I hope the city park workers get them out soon, not attractive at all.

I looked out the back door this afternoon to see 5 young teenage boys, one go cart and one husband in a huddle. When the go cart would not go, boys brought it for Al to diagnose. He told them trash in carburetor and how to remove and clean it. I wonder if they ever got it going??

TAMI, cute story about the boys coming to hold your hand. How old are these boys?

HEIDI, hope your blisters heal soon, that sure was a LOT of walking.

Rolanda, sorry to hear the sad news about the engaged couple. I know it is traumatic for them, but as said, better now than later.

Suzy, just where are you making cappuccinos? Am I the only one here who has never had one of the fancy coffees? I like a not too strong regular coffee with half and half and sweetener. My sister who makes STRONG coffee says I like a little coffee in my milk and she would be right.

Bed time here, hope I get a good nights sleep. It is hit or miss here, I can't seem to put 2 good nights together no matter what i so.

Hugs and extras for all, till tomorrow.

Hi folks.

Viv isn't hindsight a wonderful thing!!
I wonder where we would all be if we had that insight.

Rola I also think it is better now when there is only emotions involved. Not that the emotional grief is anything to be dismissed lightly. When children, family's and properties become involved it is much more difficult.

I am an expert on complicated relationships!!
Viv try not to 'lose' yourself... it can take a long time to find out [or remember] who you are if you allow that to happen. My door is always open if you want a chat.

Now iI am going to try and stop coughing my lungs out. Poor Lachie.. I was too sick to cook him dinner last night [his birthday]... gave him some money to go and buy himself a pizza on his way to work.

I am hopeful that I will turn the corner soon and start to recover..Lachie says he is feeling a little better. I think he is telling porky's [his cough sounds terrible] to try and cheer me up and give me some hope for a speedy recovery!!
I think I will make a pot of chicken soup [after a lie down]... sounds like just the thing when you are sick.

Afternoon all
Typing one handed because nomnom was lonely home alone and is now sitting on me insisting on a pat.

MizT, your picnics sound great!

Rolanda, I'm so sorry about the wedding. So very hard for both of them, even the one who 'decided'.

Tami, I would have loved to see you walking along holding their hands. I think that's a sign that they like you, even if it was very cheeky!!

Viv, loved the jokes!

Broni, it took me a while to work out your comment - Victorian? In Queensland? Duh! It's only a day since you mentioned it. You can't expect me to remember things for a whole day?!?!

Hi, Friendly Folks! It's another late day for me - nearly midnight. I need to get my act together earlier in the day.

Hi, Broni, Gail, Suzy, Theresa, Tami, CynB, Nola, Heidi, Vicki, MizTricia, Rolanda, V Viv, Bean, and anyone I've misssed!

Broni and Gail, I enjoyed your jokes!

Theresa, I'm sorry your sleep was interrupted by a cat fight. Yikes, it sounds like they meant it! I guess I should never again complain that our 2 don't particularly get along. At least it doesn't get that bad. At least I'm glad you got about 6 hours of sleep, Theresa, and the possibility of sitting outside for a while with a cup of coffee!

Tami, I'm glad you're looking for ways for Mitchell to get his education without actually starting college early! Good luck to him with his courses!

Tami! Have a wonderful day! Will your hubby and the Beastie Boys bake you a caake? Maybe they'll get you flowers.

Nola, it's good to see you! I hope you were able to complete your assignment! I also hope you are feeling better!

Theresa, I'm wondering if the shot your sister got was for shingles.

Heidi, I hope you recover quickly! You're right, they need to figure out a way to help people move from one venue to another! One and a half hours to walk to and from the food area keeps you from seeing so much other stuff and is quite inconsiderate and ill-planned!

Tami, I enjoyed the story of the boys willing to hold your hand. I could picture a couple of the boys that I had my last year of teaching (in a middle school) doing that. Sounds like they're real characters! Please extend birthday wishes from us to your hubby! Happy Birthday, Tami's hubby!

Viv, thank you for some more good jokes!

Rolanda, I must agree with the others - while it's a disappointment that the young man and his bride-to-be called off the wedding, it is so much better than going through with it just because it was planned,

Heidi, OUCH! I hope your blisters are feeling better now!

MizT, you're not the only one who has not had a fancy coffee. I don't drink coffee of any kind. Maybe one day Suzy will be the barista at our commune and I'll try a cup. BTW, Suzy, have fun!

MizT, Theresa, and Heidi, I hope you all get a good night's sleep!

Bean, I hope you and Lachie soon recover! Thinking of you and sending positive healing vibes!

As it's nearly 1:00 a.m., I'm off to bed. Good Night, Everyone!

Pet Peeve warning:

Why don't people get out of the way when they hear sirens? What if it was their loved ones that needed help? Today we say 4 police cars, an ambulance and a rescue fire engine TRYING to speed down the highway. I think they would have been lucky to make the speed limit. We found out later there were 2 bad car accidents, one of which needed 'rescue' so people were trapped. Selfish and thoughtless!!

Vent over...
