Good Evening, Sudokuland! I hope everyone has had a good day!

Hi, Suzy, Broni, Heidi, CynB, Brenda, Theresa, MizTricia, Tami, and anyone who has posted (or not) that I have missed!

Suzy, I hope your day was fun and relaxing - except for the frustration of people who don't have the common sense to pull over for emergency vehicles!

Broni, it is also the law here, but that doesn't mean everyone does it.

Heidi, I hope you're right and they get the license plate number of the offenders and send them a little "love note" with a huge fine!

CynB, so sorry your family day at the beach was a wet one! I hope there was some fun to be had among the dreariness! But, as Suzy said, you didn't need to worry about sunburns!

Ooh, Broni! Two weeks until Chez Cockatoo! Are you ready? If so, I hope the days speed by for you!

Bean and Brenda, I hope you will both be feeling much better soon! Sending positive vibes to both of you!

CynB, I enjoyed the dancing video! Thanks for sharing! I hope the koala finds its way to the nature area and some eucalyptus trees!

Suzy, I hope the rain stops at a convenient time for you to pull weeds - hopefully not a time conflicting with your continued instruction in frothing milk!

Theresa, I hope your day has gone well - and pray that your daughter is feeling better! Hurray, no rain predicted for tomorrow so you can enjoy the drive to look at fall foliage with your MIL!

Heidi, I hope your feet are feeling better today and heal quickly! Sending positive vibes!

Theresa, I'm so sorry to hear of Splotch's diagnosis! You have done all you can possibly do - the very best for him! I'll be thinking of you this weekend and especially on Tuesday! {{{{{HUGS}}}}} I'm thinking positive thoughts that all of the other cats are well!

Suzy, I'm sorry the baseball was rained out! How will they do a BBQ in the rain?

Tami, I hope the restaurant/buffet was as good as it was recommended! Happy Birthday to you and hubby!

We were invited to lunch at just such a restaurant for tomorrow for hubby's step-SisterIL. We looked it up on-line and found that the one in our area is apparently not as good as the ones in other locations. It's a Japanese buffet called Todai.

Suzy, so sorry Nomnom upended things and digging up your African violet. One of our cats would be likely to do the same. I have given away all of my plants except 2 orchids, but I have to keep them on the fireplace mantle, which she (so far) can't get to. If I lived closer to Heidi, I'd give the orchids to her, as I know they would have a good home in her sunroom!

Heidi, I'm going to look at the pictures on Grasshopper's page, then come back.

Shaking my head and feeling very silly....

I have been swearing at the bird cage. They will not use a flush toilet so this has to be done at regular intervals. I was trying to slide the tray out of the bottom and couldn't work out why I couldn't find the handle to slide it out with. I tried several times before I realised that the last person to swear at the cage had put the top on backwards so the tray handle was at the back...

Then it got worse. I couldn't work out why I couldn't get the top out of the tray. I was pulling and pushing. I even tried holding on to the bottom with my feet. Until I remembered that there are safety catches on the side...

Sigh. Do you think I should go back to bed and get out the other side?

Suzy, maybe it's because you haven't had a cup of coffee yet today? Or is it because you had too many yesterday or inhaled the fumes from too many cappuccinos? The day WILL get better. After all, you provided the link to Grass-hopper's picture with Heidi when I couldn't find it!

Hi girls.
Dreary old day here, raining now and then.
I am supposed to be sewing but have really cannot be bothered. Have a bit of a headache and one lot of tablets has made no difference.
Might have to take some more.
Just checked out Grasshopper's pics.
Yes that is a good one of you two Heidi.

Hello all!
I had trouble finding Grass-hopper as a member so I just put in 'gr' - I was spelling it right, with the hyphen. Anyway I got there and the photo of you 2 is good, Heidi!
Theresa - sorry about Splotch!
It's been very dreary here too, Viv. Drizzling steadily. My dog is in despair, she hates the rain and wants to run and chase balls and bark at anything that moves but she doesn't want to get her paws wet!!
Yep, Suzy, go back to bed!!

My connection is gone already. I will call them and find out the early cancellation fee next week. This is just ridiculous.

Cyn, I put in grass

More hugs for Theresa, splotch and D.

Nomnom just had a bath with me. hehe. He was walking around the outside fascinated by the bubbles. I thought he was going to get away without getting wet this time as he was being extra careful. Poor baby.

Good morning all. Just had my first coffee outside, but boy is it cold. Brrrrr. The chores at my daughter's are also done. I got a call from her earlier that one of her cats had thrown up and she can't bend to pick it up. It's so lovely having to pick that up first thing in the morning!!!

Heidi, checked out Grass-hopper's pictures and that is indeed a nice photo of you and her. It's so nice that people from all over the world get to meet through this site.

Have fun today Tami. I've never had suschi (spelling??? if I go back a page to check your post I'll lose this post). I don't think I'd like any type of fish raw. I'm a big chicken when it comes to things like that.

Well, off to get things done before we leave for our road trip with MIL. Hope to catch you all later. So far, although it's cold, the sun is out so it looks like it might be a nice day weather wise. TTFN.

I see the time has changed for some.

I saw a flock of Canada Geese flying southeast. I yelled at them to come back, it was too early for them to leave, but they wouldn't listen.

Suzy... That cat of yours is a scream! I wish I could have a house cat, but between all my birds and two Collies who think cat is one of the major food groups, that can't be done.

SUZY, thank you for the link to Grasshopper's page.

HEIDI, that is a good photo of you two, thanks for pointing us in the right direction. Good to see another of the collies also.

SUZY, everyone has days like yours, do not worry. Just be happy no one was there to SEE it hehehe.

VIV, what was it you should have been sewing? Rainy days were the ones I enjoyed being in my sewing room, how I miss that.

Theresa, more hugs for Splotch and hugs for you too to have to be the one to do the responsible thing.

CYNB, I know all about pets that do not like rain, so I can just picture your dog in despair. My cats, if forced to be in wet grass will try to keep as many feet in the air as long as possible, too funny. If inside, they want out till the damp air hits their nose, then they cry, wanting me to turn off the rain. Once I figure how to do that, will inform you right away, for the sake of your dog.

GAIL, good to see you pop in, Nice to know you are up and about, still have electric, and computers that work. all that information from a quick post.

TERESA, your sign of winter is the geese leaving? Here it is the humming birds leaving. They have been at the feeders full time, tanking up for their long flight. Hummm, I have not noticed them yesterday or today, have they gone already? The other sign is the yellow butterflies that go past, always flying south. they have just started, and not many seen so far.

OK, I am out of here, need to prepare brunch and make a banana pudding for AL for sweets.

Hugs to all with extras if you need more.

Our sign is the Sandhill Cranes flying south. They go over by the thousands. A couple of years ago, I heard a strange voice among them... it was a Whooping Crane migrating with the Sandhills!!! It was so cool to see it... a little bigger than the Sandhills and vibrant white with black wing tips. It's hard to believe that they were so close to extinction not so many years ago,

Heidi, that must be a beautiful sight to see, thousands of cranes. I found some images of them, if anyone wants to look.

Now, some show hunters proudly showing their kills, so be forewarned. I know some hunters will kill anything just cause it is there, but, are these birds editable? ONLY reason I would kill any wild animal, is for the table.

Only just starting my second cup of coffee so might not be making any sense yet.

I hope the sickies are starting to feel better. It sounds like a nasty cold/flu and it's in both hemispheres!

The family is on their way home. One good thing about the championships being called off - if they weren't they'd be still playing and not leaving until mid afternoon. With a 10 hour drive ahead of them that would not have been fun.

Another week to go for me Gail, but Alie will be heading off to music camp for the first 4 days of school so it will be like an extended holiday for us!

Hi everyone.
Dinner was as good as expected.
Theresa, they don't only serve sushi. They have soup, many cooked dishes and a person grilling to your specifications. Also, some of the sushi rolls use cooked fish and they are labeled. I am sure you would not leave hungry.
Went to the Marlin's game today to celebrate hubby's birthday. Just cooking dinner now and settling down for the evening.
Hi to everyone I may have missed and good thoughts and wishes to all.

My goodness - in recent days we've filled up a page or 2 or 3 every day and now we've done 29 posts in 21 hours!
I'm heading off to restock the pantry - I hate grocery shopping but it must be done - can't starve the working man.
Jewel is happier today, it's sunny with occasional cloudy periods but enough that she's game to walk around the drying puddles instead of lying around depressed!

There was an article written in the glossy magazine that we get with our Saturday paper that relates so much to the people on the Sudoku site. I'm sure the columnist is referring to another site but one with as much to offer as this. I hope you can access this. It won't go directly to the article but to the main page - from there go to the left, click on 'columns' then on 'Kim Sweetman' and read about her on-line experience. It gave me goosebumps - I thought we were unique!!
Here is the link - http://www.couriermail.com.au/extras/qweekend/

Good Evening, Fellow Sudokuaholics!

Hi, V Viv, Gail, CynB, Suzy, Theresa, Heidi, MizTricia, Tami the T and any others who may pop in and post - or just lurk!

I hope the rain has quit and your headache is gone, V Viv! Were you going to be sewing something fun - or reattaching buttons or making repairs?

Gail, is Hannah excited to be back at school - or like most kids and dreading having to get up early again? I hope everyone is healthy and all is well in your household. All the best to you!

CynB, I hope the rain has also stopped for you! I also had trouble finding Grass-hopper and Heidi's picture, even entering many different versions of Grass-hopper with and without upper case letters and the hyphen. Luckily, Suzy came to my rescue! Thanks, again, Suzy!

Cyn, I hope you're right and the koala has found its way safely into the nature area!

Suzy, there is actually a breed of cat that swims. It seems as if Nomnom is attracted to the water (or do you think it's the bubbles?) At least you know you have a clean kitty!

Theresa, we have also seen some geese flying south, but not huge flocks of them yet!

Heidi, the sandhill cranes congregate in Wisconsin before heading further south, don't they? Just wondering if you would see them when you lived there. The sandhill cranes fly much higher than the geese (at least when they are in our vicinity) and have a different call.

Suzy, I didn't realize that Alie's (the singer) music camp coincided with the re-start of school. Will that cause problems for her?

Just thinking about a 10-hour car trip to and from the baseball championship (that was cancelled). That would provide a LOT of talking time, unless the girls sleep in the car.

Tami, I'm so glad the combined birthday dinner was good! You mentioned the Marlins game, but didn't mention the outcome of the game. I hope the right team won! Also, hope you enjoyed the dinner you had to make tonight!

Cyn, I'm glad the puddles are drying up and Jewel can again enjoy the outdoors! Thank you for the link about the Kim Sweetman column. I'm going to try it now!

The north and mid-north coast of New South Wales has been lashed by heavy rain, with minor flood watches in place for several rivers.

The Bureau of Meteorology says more than 200 millimetres of rain has fallen at Cape Byron in the past 24 hours to 9:00am, while 223 millimetres fell at Evans Head.

The Brunswick River peaked just below the minor-flood level in Billinudgel at about 8:00am.

Oh dear, Viv - I'm sure hubby was driving to Billinudgel this morning - he left home at 4am.
He must be OK because, with him, no news is good news. If something goes wrong, he rings me - sometimes I feel like saying - well, I can't fix it!!!
I do hate him to be out on a wet road in a semi-trailer though. I just have to trust that he's good and safe driver.

Good night friends. We have a cold front going through, and the weather change brought on a major flare of fibro for me. Very painful in all my ribs, it hurt to breathe. Felt like crying, but that just hurt more so decided to leave that be. It took a lot more pain killer than I usually take, but at last, about 10 pm, I got enough to ease the pain. Has been a while since I had one this bad, glad ones like this do not come often. Now to see if I sleep, sometimes that much pain med keeps me awake. Gee, which had you rather, be awake and in a lot of pain, or be awake and not hurt??

Made Al banana pudding for dinner, did I say that earlier?? anyway, it turned out nicely, and he was most appreciative. I had a tiny bit. It's not on my food plan, a regular serving is to high in carbs for a diabetic, but I had to know how it turned out, know if the recipe needed adjusting, right??

OK off to bed, glad it is only a couple steps away. I think I am a bit woozy and giddy headed. As long as I do not see pink elephants I am OK.

Hugs to all and extras for everyone. Till tomorrow.
