Good morning all.
Cyn, enjoyed the link to the story. It does sound like us. I have had the pleasure of meeting a few of the people from here and hope to meet more in the future.
Suzy, can't say I "enjoyed" your link but I did read the article. Ewwwwwwww is an appropriate response. Glad I did not live back then.
Tricia, hope you are getting a good night's sleep and wake up pain free.
Julie, the Marlins won which was awesome. Last game of the season and they are not in the playoffs so now I have to wait until April to enjoy my team again. At least I have the Dolphins and Heat to root for.

Heritage listing a pineapple...hmmmm
Nomnom hates the smell of the body milk. He jumped as if I'd put rotten eggs in front of his nose! It just smells like bananas...
On FB Gail and Rolanda 'like' how mean I am - what does that tell you about us??? lol

Suzy, I agree with Nomnom. I hate the smell of bananas also. I also hate the taste and sight of bananas. Did I ever mention that I hate bananas. I also checked out the links on the other site but did not click like. I will go and do so now.

The banana smell is very strong, but I'm not telling hubby that because he was thinking of me while he way away and that was very sweet.

Confession to my friends (and lurkers - fess up you guys!) When Ebob was leaving tonight to go 'home' hubby suggested she give me a hug. I couldn't do it and actually said 'It feels like she is pushing the knife deaper into my back when she hugs me'.
So I really do win the mean mother award...

Suzy I love the smell of bananas!
Ebob hugging you would probably have been better if your hubby hadn't had to prompt her to do it.

Greetings friends, I have not caught up reading this morning, but wanted to pop in and say thank you for all the good wishes. I did sleep last night, woke this morning feeling much better. Thanks to each of you for listening to my tale of woe. It does help to have someone who can listen.
I hope to get back later to continue reading and make few comments. meanwhile, hugs to all with extras.

Suzy, I agree about it would have been better if hubby hadn't prompted, but I think you did the righty telling her how you feel. She needs to know how much this is wounding you, maybe then she might start realising how her selfishness is possibly jeopardizing her future.
BTW I 'like' Alie's singing, not your reason behind it!

Suzy - agree with Brenda and Gail - it would have been (and will be) better when Ebob gives you a hug without prompting. Bigger hugs than normal - sounds like after taking 3 steps forward you've taken 2 back - good days/bad days.

greetings Sudokuland. Boy do I know how to waste a day. I had one of Heidie's five hour naps today! I would say my meds last night worked wonderfully well, all night and half the day hehehe. I still fell hung over, boy I hate meds that do that, but on occasion, they are necessary.
Hubby is so helpless, he had "forgot" to eat hunch while I was asleep. He got lunch at 5 pm, I foresee a late dinner for us tonight. Good thing I have planned overs tonight, not in the mode to cook, but think I can manage to warm over.
I read posts, did not retain, will try again later, Hugs and extras to all.

Suzy, there is no way I would do what Alie did. I think Mitchell, and probably Dylan, would.
I had 38 kids in afterschool detention today. They sit sooo quietly. If they talk, I get to kick them out and then they get in more trouble.

???!!!!! Tami! Ebob has a detention coming up - for being last to school 9 times without a note (amazing how she managed that since the bus gets to school 45 minutes before the bell...). Nobody would get a detention for gum chewing or talking! I am imagining a world where discipline was that strong, and it is good.

Hmmmm! I have a house full of beautiful smelling roses - went to my sister's place and she cut loads of roses for me (she has heaps) - I now have 3 separate vases of them. Also gave me some home grown lemons - they're the best too.
I would want to do the giant swing thing but would probably chicken out at the last minute. I'm much braver in my mind than in person.

Good Evening to all! I hope everyone who has been under the weather is now feeling better!
Hi, V Viv, Broni, CynB, Suzy (posted on page 377 after my last post there last night)!
V Viv, thanks again for explaining FFS! Did you get your sewing finished?
Cyn, I'm glad Col found an acceptable job! I'm sure he will always drive safely! Keeping fingers crossed that the other drivers on the road are also careful! Poor Jewel, having to deal with a continually ringing doorbell! She may need some extra attention today!
Suzy, I hope the homecoming went well! It's always good to have them home safely, but aggravating when a clean house gets "lived in" again. Much better than living on board a ship in the 1800's and 1900's. YUCK!
I was wondering if a Chandlery is a hardware or paint store? Our friend, Ms. Google, provided this information:
"Rising out of historical necessity, a chandlery was a store that sold nautical parts, gear, and other commodities to sea-bound vessels. The chandlery came into prominence in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, when ships were the preferred method of transportation for the lucrative industries of cargo shipping, fishing, and whaling among other areas. The chandlery in its simplest form acted as a storeroom for hoarding supplies of wax and tallow candles, soaps, oils, paints, ropes, as well as other things that sea-bound sailors would need to aid them in their journeys.
Mostly around the eighteenth century, owners set up their chandlery along wharves, which made their business mostly about providing lighting on board the ships that passed the wharf. As business expanded due to success in the industries that required maritime transit, the chandlery was able to increase its assortment of inventory and began offering other essential supplies for sea-going vessels.
Today, a chandlery is more or less a modern convenience store for sailing vessels. The chandlery often offers the essentials along with more technologically advanced products. Because people are also beginning to purchase boats for recreational purposes instead of just for business operations, demand for maritime gear and parts have not waned. Many online stores in the chandlery business now also offer modernly developed accouterments like electrical equipment, furniture, sailing apparel, safety gear, and navigation instruments."
Does anyone else find it interesting that Broni mentioned working in a Chadlery so soon after Suzy's link about 18th and 19th century British ships and their doctors?

I find it very interesting, Julie, particularly since I have been reading up on 17th and 18th century piracy recently. I just finished reading Exquemelin's diaries from his time serving with Sir Henry Morgan, as ship's surgeon. It's great reading if you have a strong stomach.

Cyn, the roses sound beautiful! I went out and sprayed mine for aphids this morning and some of them are amazing. I would only have one vase full at most though. I would chicken out of the giant swing when they had already pulled me to the top and I saw how high I was - too late of course! I remember clearing saying to hubby "I've changed my mind, I've changed my mind" at the top of a ride at Knott's Berry Farm...
Julie, the homecoming went well and things are settling down again. Alie went for a singing lesson because her voice is really bad at the moment. She has been so worried about it being gone forever, and on top of that she has music camp next week. I told her that it would be related to the bug we've had and it will be fine again, but she didn't believe me. She believes her singing teacher though and is now a happy young lady again.
Heidi, Broni and me. That's just weird! Julie, you're right about interesting coincidences...

Hi, Broni, CynB, Tami, Brenda, MizTricia, Heidi, Gail, Rolanda and anyone I've missed!
Suzy, the banana scented gifts are MUCH better than the EWWW of the story you shared. Nomnom might decided the scent isn't so bad when he/she gets used to it. Of course, right out of the bottle or jar would be stronger than when it has been used and diluted. (I know our D's dogs like banana. We have never tried with our cats.) I have to admit to liking bananas and banana bread!
Tami, I'm so glad the Marlins won their last game so you and Andy could enjoy being there!
When I was talking with D2 tonight, she mentioned that all 3 of "her" football teams lost this weekend (her college and 2 favorite professional teams).
Suzy, I'm not quite sure why you are considered a mean mother. Was it for posting those youtubes? It's too bad that a hug from Ebob right now feels like a knife in your back. I bet it would have been better if it had been spontaneous and not suggested by your hubby. {{{{{HUGS}}}}} from all of us, Suzy!
(I just read Brenda's, Gail's and Cyn's statements about the hug. Fine minds, and all that! As I have continued to read, nearly every one of us has commented that because Ebob was prompted to give the hug made it seem less genuine.)
MizTricia, what a relief to know that you slept better last night and the pain is improved! I hope you had a terrific day! I also hope your afternoon nap is just "left over" from the medications you had to take and won't interfere with your sleep tonight!
I can't imagine my hubby "forgetting" to eat lunch. It could happen to me. (Unfortunately, I would probably make up for it later in the day by snacking on something I shouldn't have.)
Oh, no, Suzy! So sorry to hear that the bug is back!
Suzy, I watched the youtube of Ally on the swing. Even though I am afraid of heights, I might have tried it at her age (with encouragement from friends). Now, I wouldn't even consider it. I'd probably have difficulty getting near enough to the edge of the drop-off to even LOOK over. As for getting a good video/youtube of her singing, it is VERY hard to get good audio without good microphones and sound boards. Our acupuncturist is doing some audio recording with a professional in a studio, and the sound quality is still not always great. We recorded her at one of the venues where she sang and got more keyboard and guitar. Another person who recorded on the other side of the room was able to get better vocals.
CynB, I wish I could smell your roses!

I think I misspelled chandlery in a previous post. Sorry.
Suzy, does Alie's singing teacher have any suggestions for her voice - honey or lemon or something! I hope all of you are soon over the bug and don't spread it back and forth to each other! I'll be thinking positive thoughts for Alie!

Hi, Suzy! Of course, Alie's singing teacher knows far more than you do! The good news is that as your Ds get older, you will suddenly be more intelligent than you are now. (It just takes them getting older and realizing that they can listen to Mum, not just their friends and teachers.
Yes, I've been staying up too late and not getting enough sleep. I'm back to doing water aerobics almost every day - and with nearly as much intensity as before my surgery. Of course, some of the sciatica symptoms are returning. I'm just tired of not feeling 100 %. I thought my knees would feel like 20-year-old knees after recovering from the surgery, not 50-year-old knees. I guess that's not bad, because at least that's younger than I am!
Tomorrow most of my siblings and I are going to my home town and having dinner with my aunt, the last relative on my Dad's side of the family. Her husband died a few months ago from Alzheimers. It's weird to be getting together during the week, but 1 brother and 1 sister have the day off and the most of the rest of us were able to arrange schedules so we could meet. Since we'll have a long drive each way, I really need to get to bed.
I'm sending lots of positive vibes, prayers,
and {{{HUGS}}} for everyone to share! Enjoy the rest of your day and have a great day tomorrow! Good Night!
