I'm off to bed, to curl up with another non-fiction book about pirates.

It's supposed to be another cold night here... down to 37℉ / 2.77℃. Too cold for me.

I'm still moving slowly, BTW. The blisters are doing better since I lanced them, but it turns out that I also have a large black bruise on the bottom of my right foot and heel. I don't remember doing anything that would cause bruising that severe.

Oh, yeah, one last thing. The lovebirds abandoned their eggs. They are young birds, and haven't figured it out yet. One of the female budgies has taken up residence in one of their nest boxes. I only see her out for short times grabbing food and water. I suspect that she has eggs, but I haven't noticed her pairing up with any particular male. I have spotted the mate for the other female showing interest in a nest box, tho'.

Hi my friends.
Zusy, I would definitely go on the swing, don't think I will ever grow up! May be a bit sore and sorry later but eh we only live once.
Dag I hope you were referring to NOT busting b@lls while I am there! Come on down Zusy, that would be a blast!
Wow Zusy, Heidi and me on the boating theme.
Julie, glad to hear a little bit about what is happening in your life.
Cyn, boss's SIL brought in some home grown roses the other week and the perfume was magnificent. (ps is that the correct spelling for boss singular?)

Good morning all.
Rolanda, stay off that leg. It needs time to heal. Make your family work for you, for once.
Heidi, enjoy that book. 37 is cold. My car thermometer said 73 when I drove Mitchell to his bus stop.
Julie, enjoy the day with your family. Hope you have a wonderful time.

Rolanda, when boy does not get dinner because mommy is in bed, maybe he will get the message.

Mitchell has been helping me in the kitchen recently. he wants to learn how to cook. We made shake and bake the other night and he wanted to add some seasonings to the shake and bake. Unfortunately, he likes things spicier than I do.

I have figured out which male is the mate to the budgie who's nesting. He's a baby blue greywing. The female is a light green greywing.

JOKE I received in my e-mail today.

WARNING: do not read if you are eating or if you have a weak stomach.

BTW, Khols is the name of a local department store.

Clutching their Kohls' shopping bags, Ellen and Kay woefully gazed down at A dead cat in the mall parking lot. Obviously a recent hit... no flies, no smell...
What business could that poor kitty have had here?' murmured Ellen..'
'Come on, Ellen, let's just go...'
But Ellen had already grabbed her shopping bag and was explaining, 'I'll just put my things in your bag, and then I'll use this tissue....' She dumped her purchases into Kay's bag and then used the tissue paper to Cradle and lower the former feline into her own Kohls' bag and cover it.
They continued the short trek to the car in silence, stashing their goods in the trunk. But it occurred to both of them that if they left Ellen's Burial bag in the trunk, warmed by the Texas sunshine while they ate, Kay's Lumina would soon lose that new-car smell. They decided to leave the bag on top of the trunk, and they headed over to K & W Cafeteria.
They went through the serving line and sat down at a window table. They had a view of Kay's Chevy with the Kohls' bag still on the trunk... BUT not for long!
As they ate, they noticed a big woman in a red gingham shirt stroll by their car... She looked quickly this way and that, and then took the Kohls' bag without breaking stride. She quickly walked out of their line of vision. Kay and Ellen shot each other a wide-eyed look of amazement.
It all happened so fast that neither of them could think how to respond.
'Can you imagine?' finally sputtered Ellen.. 'The nerve of that woman!'
Kay Sympathized with Ellen, but inwardly a laugh was building as she thought about The grand surprise awaiting the female thief. Just when she thought she'd have to giggle into her napkin, she noticed Ellen's eyes freeze in the direction of the serving line.
Following her gaze, Kay recognized the big woman in the red gingham shirt with the Kohls' bag Hanging from her arm. She was brazenly pushing her tray toward the cashier.
Helplessly they watched the scene unfold: After leaving the register, the woman settled at a table across from theirs, put the bag on an empty chair and began to eat. After a few bites of baked whitefish and green beans, she casually lifted the bag into her lap to survey her treasure. Looking from side to side, but not far enough to notice her rapt audience three tables over, she pulled out the tissue paper and peered into the bag. Her eyes widened, and she began to make a sort of gasping noise.
The noise grew. The bag slid from her lap as she sank to the floor, wheezing and clutching her upper chest. The beverage cart attendant quickly recognized a customer in trouble and sent the busboy to call 911, while she administered the Heimlich Maneuver.
A crowd quickly gathered that did not include Ellen and Kay, who remained riveted to their chairs for

Splotch's appointment is on Thursday because that's the first appointment they had available. Both hubby and I are wavering about putting him to sleep because he's so sweet. What to do, what to do!

Sunday's drive with MIL was fun, but I paid for it the next day with my back - we were in the car about 10 hours total with breaks in between.

Yesterday I walked to the vet with one of my daughter's cats (about 10 blocks), and then I helped hubby stack some firewood in the evening. Today I can hardly move. It only hurts when I breathe. My SIL won't be home until midnight, so I have to get the girls ready for bed tonight. OH NO!!!

The oven element died yesterday. It literally disintegrated and sparked and started little fires in the oven itself. The stove itself is fine though. The stove must be close to 20 years old, so I can't complain. We'll try a new element first and if that doesn't work we'll have to get a new stove.

Have read all the comments (I had about 3 pages to read). Hope those feeling not so well have improved.

Stay off my leg, elevate it, and take some panadol...

Gotta run and start supper soon. TTFN.

MizT, are you there? I want to hear the punch line too!

What to do today? I have ffuts to do but don't want to do it. I actually threw a tantrum last night when I walked around picking up other people's mess for the first time in a few days... I could go shopping but they spent all the money while they were away... what to do, what to do...

Theresa, I read your post and was reminded of the joke - Doctor, it hurts when I do this, then don't do that. Breathing! Hard to give that up. We're all kind of addicted to it. I hope you start to hurt a little less as the day goes on. Add a broken oven on top of it and you must be feeling pretty awful right now. Sending gentle hugs and hope you find some relief.

I laughed when I read this. Firstly I wondered if it meant you could't sing the anthem if you were tone deaf. Then I thought of shirts and undies with the flag on them being considered unpatriotic - Australia, the US and Britain must be the most unpatriotic countries in the world if that is true!

Sending back rubs your way Theresa

My first day alone in I don't know how long, it is hubby's one day a month to go to work...he actually didn't grumble about it this morning so that was a change. As I walked around the house last night I kept saying must do that, must do that to myself. I knew I would never remember them all so I wrote a list. Have crossed off a couple of things so far, and am going to keep writing things on it as I do them JUST so that I can cross them off!

How terrible to leave you hanging for so long, here is the rest of that story!!

A crowd quickly gathered that did not include Ellen and Kay, who remained riveted to their chairs for seven whole minutes until the ambulance arrived.
In a matter of minutes, the big woman with the red gingham shirt emerged, Still gasping, and securely strapped on a gurney. Two well-trained EMT volunteers steered her to the waiting ambulance, while A third scooped up her belongings. The last they saw of the distressed "Cat-Burglar" was as she disappeared behind the ambulance doors... the Kohls' Bag perched on her stomach!!
God does take care of those who do bad things!
AND
once in a while... He allows us to witness!
