Because HIS time is too valuable to spend it transporting a tank, and he's too cheap to pay for it.

Rain rain go away.
They are fairing worse than us up CynB's way though.
Ethan has his bodyboarding comp. day today and has been out in the water since 7am.
He goes for his licence this Thursday.
He is going back to school until he finds himself an apprenticeship or a full time job.

Giggle Viv! Kay's comment on the other page was good - You want me to do what with the candle?

Heidi, it would do no good to sue. If the doctors don't have appointments available they don't have appointments available. That is what is considered 'life' over here.

Tami and Bobbie, so was there another phone call saying 'why didn't you just say so?'

Suzy, it doesn't matter how many times I tell her that Mitchell is ok. That was hours ago and mom has to make sure he is still ok. My older brother put it best, she is only happy when she is worrying about something.

Well until he finds a job Suzy.
He is banking on getting the licence and informs me he is then taking his mates down to Newcastle on the 23rd or maybe the day before for this Fat as Butter concert. !!
Has a mind of his own now, can only hope the values we have instilled in his brain hold him in good stead.

Hello all - have forgotten all I just read.
Theresa - hope Snowball continues to improve.
Heidi - IH renders me speechless!
Suzy - the party sounds great. I loved the fireman by day/poet (was it?) by night. Straight out of Mills & Boon .
Julie - Jewel wouldn't have been in the water long, it was just creeping up slowly because of blocked drains. I brought her straight in. I think it just frightened her.

Completely rotten weather up here at the moment and expected to get worse, especially in certain areas.

I have fallen behind and cannot catch up! Just not feeling 100% the last few days, nothing really wrong, just sort of blah and a bit off. I went back to bed this morning at 10 am and slept till after 1 pm. At least I am sleeping now, for several nights I was not, so maybe just need to catch up.

I read some, lets see what I remember.

Suzy, saw the cake, would not have embarrassed me, but being a nurse makes a difference I suppose, anatomy does not embarrass. I would not have wanted a cake like that at my party cause it would embarrass others. I think that was the idea, to cause controversy and to embarrass, to see what people's reaction would be???

Teresa, hope Snowball recovers quickly. That is a lot on charges for tests. They would have to treat me for shock if I got such a bill!!

Gail, glad you got the ton of fun generator. I am glad you can start it. We have one, but it has never been out of the box, and I could not set it up if Al could not. Having it on wheels so you can move it about is a very good idea.

OK, I can remember a few things, and If I forgot what you said, I apologize. My mind is like a sieve tonight, cannot hold a thought that long.

hugs and extras to all.

MizT, hope you're soon back to your old self. I can certainly understand the "blah" feeling - I think we all have times like that. We're here for you.

A friend of mine posted on FB: I am not 30, I am $29.95 plus shipping and handling.

Suzy, that cake was certainly unique!

Well, now that it's October we seem to finally be getting some September weather. We have a stretch of about 4 or 5 days where it's actually supposed to be sunny. Mind you it is cool, it went down to -1C overnight. Monday we hope to get the yard settled for winter. Where did the summer go?

Gasbag (aka Snowball) seems better today. I caught him playing. He is refusing to eat the vet recommended food, but is eating the regular food. At least he's eating!

Off to grab a coffee ... see you later!

Bit blah myself MizT, I think quite a few of us are. Luckily I have something wonderful coming up to lift anyone's spirits. Broni will be here on Saturday (sorry Broni, room didn't get painted!) and have contacted the friends and we are meeting up on Sunday for lunch at a lovely looking winery found by Liz. Speaking of Broni, I have only just caught up with her post, sweetie, looking forward to a laid-back week coming up, sounds like you need it ♥...btw we're going out for lunch on Sunday. :)

Thanks for all you said re generator, yes, we bought wisely, there were a lot of criteria that needed to be 'ticked off the list'.

Love and best wishes to all. Feel warm as you read this because I was thinking of you. May your days be less stressful, more healthful, and everyone around you be as nice as you are ♥

It's been a big weekend here, all good, just exhausting. Tell you about it in a day or so. Reminder to me - Gail, you hate going to shopping centres with children to buy big-ticket items at the last minute!!! Thank heavens this one is one who will compromise, still took two shopping centres over two days...!

Goodnight xoxo

Morning all. I have a wonderful sunday of grading papers ahead of me. I just seem to keep falling farther behind. I am going to grade the important ones and just glance at some of the minor stuff. The kids seem to get better grades this way I have a busy week coming up. We are going away for the weekend but I am not posting that on the other site. Don't want too many people knowing we will not be home. We are going to the "house of mouse" Let's see if any of you down under people know what I am talking about. Topsiders should.

My sympathy, Tami. I detest crowds, so better you than me.

I hope everybody gets over the "blahs" soon. I now have a great remedy for them... my sunroom. orchids galore (~20 in bloom) and lots of birds The therapy ability is amazing.

Heidi, good luck with the tank. I don't mind the crowds and this is a long needed vacation. We are only going to be gone a few days but should have a lot of fun. One of hubby's friends may join us for a day. He only lives an hour or so from our destination.

I'm back in one piece, with the tank. Unfortunately, the trip was not uneventful. Nothing serious, just a flat tire on the trailer, with no spare. One of these days I'm gonna have to get a spare tire and rim for that trailer, but it won't be cheap. The tire alone is $150. I got the tire temporarily inflated so I could get home, but I'll have to get it repaired tomorrow. It's only a bad valve stem.

I DID NOT stop and get another Budgie! I'm so proud of myself. I don't need another one, especially since I have 2 hens nesting. I've pretty much gotten the colors I want, with one exception. I want a loud green pied bird (like the bird on the left.). I won't get that from either of the pairs nesting now.

Woo hoo Tami! I love the other version of that place. Magical things can bring tears to my eyes and I got misty at least once every visit.

Gail, I'd love to hear about your stressful weekend. Unfortunately I've had my compromise one, stubborn and determined coming up...

Broni, Gail and other southerners, have a wonderful get together!!!

Slight break there to distract nomnom before he stole some of my coffee...

Heidi, I'm glad you got home safe with only minor dramas. It can cost easily that much for a car tyre here. Some years getting your car registered can be expensive!

Suzy, I knew that you would understand what I meant. Luckily it will be a budget vacation. "house of mouse" had a promo earlier this year called "give a day, get a day." You registered through their website and did a day of approved community service, and then got a free one day pass. We picked tomatoes for a local food bank and got 4 passes, one for each. The kids had a good time picking the tomatoes and realized that it is hard work.

The blahs are going around a bit. Theresa's jokes help, as do all of you wonderful people. I wish I was sleeping more and not gaining as much weight, but if that's the worst thing ...

Just thought I'd share something that I'm finding helpful at the moment - Dino's book. I haven't been meditating as it suggests, but I have found some of the ideas so helpful that I might just give that stuff a try too. There's a bit of Gail in there - it is what it is. There's a bit of MizT in there - do what it takes. Actually, there's a bit of most of you in that one!! There's a bunch of non-judgemental stuff, which is you guys too. Then there's lot of equanimity and looking at what actually happened rather than your reaction to it. A very useful skill to apply when it feels like things are very broken.

Wow Tami, that's fantastic! Your kids learned something important, the food bank was helped, and you get to go and have fun! I also think it's great that there were tomatoes available to be picked for the food bank.

The tomatoes were the leftovers after the crop was harvested. We even got to take a few home and they were good. My hubby and kids picked the plum tomatoes and I picked cherry tomatoes.

Checking in this lovely fall afternoon. While I type I hear the lovely sound of someone else mowing my lawn! Toby, the teen from across the street, is cutting grass. It really did not need it that badly, no rain, no groth, just a few seed stalks popping up. Unless we get some significant rain soon, this might be the last mowing of the season, we will see.

Heidi, happy that you got the tank home with only a flat tire for your trouble. Of course Gil needs your help to haul hay, men are totally helpless without us. I know your sun room must be the cheeriest place with all your orchids and birds, I still say I am going to come sit out there someday.

Tami, I remember your saying earlier you were doing the " give a day" thing. Enjoy the mouse thing.

Suzy, my daughter age 35 enjoys the other version that you mentioned. She visited several times a year, till this past year. no one to go with her now, bummer.

Gail, I hate shopping centers for big or small ticket items. I am glad you accomplished your goal in only 2 days. Hope you and Broni have a great visit, and a good lunch out with the others. Sure wish I could do the "beam me up, Scottie" thing and join you for lunch.

Theresa, I think it was you who also made mention of the beam me up thing? Now don't we all wish that were possible and cheap?? We coujld have a weekly lunch, each of us beaming in from wherever, what fun that would be and a sure cure of the blahs.

Enough for now, I will try to check back in later. I need to do some flinging of food, not sure what I will make. Perhaps hamburger steak with mushroom gravy, I have ingredients for that.

Hugs to all with extras.
