This is hilarious! He's allowed to greet one person before going off for his medical checks - I think he's trying to hug everyone around him! Good for him - I thought that was a dumb rule.

This is bringing back the same emotions I felt when our two trapped miners were finally rescued.

Mario brought samples up from the mine. He gave one to the president of Chile. He must have done wonders for everyone's morale down there. He's a funny guy.

I have missed all the excitement becaue I went out to visit my Mum. I'll catch it on the news later but I am thrilled that all is going well and probably better that I wasn't watching live or I'd be blubbering. I blubber my through the mother/child or sibling reunions on 'Can we Help'. This is a miracle!

Heidi - I had a chuckle about the 'good ole boy' and his friends yesterday and smugly thought I lived amongst 'decent folks'. Until I heard this as I walked past 3 women sitting on a bench outside our local shopping centre/mall today.
Woman 1 - I've lost 5 kilos
Woman 2 - Yes I noticed. But you'd put on weight when you came out of jail!
Woman 1 - No, that was the time before!
Woman 3 - Yes - I always put on weight when I'm in jail!
I've been so over-protected, I've never known a woman who has ever been in jail!

Cyn, how quickly did you walk away from those women. I don't think I know a woman who has been in jail either. Come to think of it the only male I know who has been in jail was my brother. He served 1 week for drug offences about 30 years ago. I think that was the end of drugs for him. Locked up at Bogga Road would do that for any one.

First day at work without the boss - three and a half weeks to go before he returns. He hadn't even left Australia before I had to ring him. All sorted now and he can safely travel to Amsterdam.

Good evening everyone! Sorry, that was very rude of me not to greet you all.
Sunshine today made a lovely change. I had my visit to the doc this morning. I have some cream to put on the itchy spot on my leg. Try it for 4 weeks and then go back to doc again.
Cholesterol is high - both the good and the bad - but liver function is improving. OK, so weight loss and exercise is the order. Nothing different from the previous visit or the one before that or ......
I know what I have to do, I just have to motivate myself to do it.
Time for home. Catch you all later.
Great news about the Chilean miners - can't wait to watch the news tonight.

Good morning all. Mitchell is on his bus, I have dried my eyes and it is time to start the day. I am glad that I won't be home all day to see this or I would probably be teary eyed all day. Should be a quiet day at school. Kids are testing today so I can catch up on some paperwork and things like that.
Hope it is a wonderful day for everyone out there.

I got up to miner #11 reaching the surface. This is an older miner, with serious health problems, from Bolivia whose family was left out of the loop by the Bolivian authorities for the first 2 weeks. They got him up safe and sound.

Now the 15th miner is on his way up. They've cut down the time from one hour between rescues down to 40 minutes. They have to raise the capsule SO slowly because of decompression.

Hello everyone.
It is so good they are finally getting the trapped miners out. What a relief for their families and miners.
I hope everyone is fighting fit and happy.
It is still raining here, the ground is so waterlogged that there are huge puddles laying all over the lawn which is starting to kill the grass.
I probably wont get back here again until after the exams.Hopefully I can tell you that I passed on Thursday night.
Those on hols, have a great time.(Broni,June)
Bye all.

Same with me, Theresa. It's not often in ones life that you can watch 33 lives being saved. And these are all honest, hard working men with families and friends that love them.
They say that one of the miners has pneumonia, and two are scheduled for major oral surgery tomorrow, but it's amazing that that's all the problems they have after being trapped in a mine for 70 days.

I've heard they hope to have all the miners plus the rescue personnel out of the "tomb" by 11:00 or so our time. I'm not sure I can stay awake until then, but I sure hope so.

You're right Heidi, a once in a lifetime miracle happening before our very eyes.

There are only 4 men left to be rescued, and with 40 minutes for each, they could have them out by 10 pm our time, if everything goes perfectly. Then they need to remove the rescue workers.

I heard the reporters saying they were worried that, from a presentation point of view, that this could end up boring with the long waiting times and that people would not wait past the first few. Nothing could be further from the truth!
No.31 is on his way.

Morning.. 30/33 with 31 on his way..

Confusion reigns for a moment yesterday afternoon. Mum was telling me that it looks like Stephen's eyes are turning brown, and and I replied, no they are green.. Then the penny drops, she was talking about little Steven, not my Stephen.

Greetings friends, I had to check in with the rescue before coming here this afternoon, boy they almost have this complete. I read the reason for the speed up of the rescue is because the capsule is not rotating as much as they thought it would, therefore it could go faster on the trip. A wonderful day, getting these men up to safety.

I must go and finish flinging food, it is dinner time here. Hugs with extras for each of you.

Good Morning all!
Great news about the miners - I only saw a bit on the news last night.
Hubby's mum is having a panic attack again because one of the nieces spilled the beans on his sister going back to teach in China next year. Hubby says his mum had been told - she's forgotten. She forgets a lot of things nowadays. Gee, old age is a bugger.
