Viv.... I pity the people who placed those orders. I can imagine that a lot of the stuff is for christmas presents. I just hope Avon is making a superhuman effort to get the rest of the stuff in well before Christmas.

My parents just came over to hang out for a little bit. Dylan's birthday cake is in the oven. He wanted to help bake it. It is a chocolate cake with a chocolate mousse frosting. I only have 2 days of work this week. Tuesday I am going on a field trip and Wednesday is no school. It is a 5 day weekend for Thanksgiving.

Viv..sorry that Avon and hubby are causing waves.
Hope your coffee morning helped.
Tricia..good news that Al is eating well. When is the next chemo going to start?

Heidi..I'm glad you are getting some good sleep lately.Congrats on the baby birds, they must be so cute.I got a nest out of a tree yesterday(for show & tell)and it had the bones of a baby bird which looked like a parrot from the beak.Wonder what happened there.

That's a frequent occurrence, Nola. If the eggs hatch out a few days apart, the first hatchling is much bigger than the last. The last one hatched doesn't get it's fair share of food and rarely makes it to adulthood due to malnutrition. It's called survival of the fittest.

I'm expecting IH to be here in an hour.
At least he won't be home long. He's leaving for the plant late tonight or early tomorrow morning. He'll be back for Thanksgiving.

Morning all,
Happy Birthday Dylan! Double digits, a real milestone...
There was so much to read this morning, I even reread a bunch of stuff because I don't seem to be retaining much at the moment.
Theresa, I think MizT is right, I know you can find a way to say it that doesn't sound resentful but rather just a gentle reminder. Please vent all you like, it has to help!!
Heidi, but where will he eat this year. Has he been invited somewhere and forgotten to tell you again?

I have learned not to make a major effort for Thanksgiving dinner. I never count on him to show up. Or be there remotely on time.

Heidi, I would be tempted to make hugd Thanksgiving plans that sis not depend on him. Go to friends, or invite others to come share your meal. If Gil is there, fine, if not, that is OK too. You have a nice celebration with friends.
Suzy, don't you hate when you loose a long post? I know I do. I am sure it was brilliant, funny, entertaining, a normal Suzy post
HAPPY

Happy Birthday Dylan!!
I think husbands messing up the shopping is their way of making sure they don't get stuck with the shopping permanently. Example - I have bought olive oil spread since it came on the market but I still refer to it as margarine. If hubby is shopping with me and I ask him to get the 'margarine' - he will go directly and pick up olive oil spread. Recently, I asked him to pick up some 'margarine' from the supermarket on his way home. He got regular margarine because I wasn't specific!!

Hi Suzy. Please realise it will take time before you feel like your old self. Send me an Email any time you want to talk. Our phone deal means it costs me very little for STD calls.

Hi everyone, I'm back from the weekend from hell.
MizT, I'm glad to hear that Al is home and it sounds like his health is improving in leaps and bounds.
Theresa, I'm thinking of you and your daughter - I can understand how endlessly frustrating the whole situation has become. It sounds like you are trapped with no clear way out and no end in sight for either of you. Please keep venting - it helps the sanity levels.
Suzy, (big sigh) I don't really know what to say except "Kids (big sigh)". I am confused though. I thought Three was thrown out of home because he was gee-ay-why. Is he confused, or is it just me?
I got totally upset on the weekend. I walked into a shop and there was all this C stuff there, Carols playing etc and I thought 'This is way too early". Nope, it's only just a month away. I don't know whether it's because my family have 4 birthdays in November (only 1 left now) or if it's the weather. We've barely had anything that resembles warm weather and maybe that's thrown out my body clock because it just doesn't seem like Christmas is coming.

An explanation of the weekend from hell.
SIL and Niece came from Canberra (Yippee, I love having them come visit, we have a fabulous time and they are great company). Shouldn't MIL be just as happy? Oh no! She did nothing but pick and find fault the whole weekend. I was treated as "little miss sunshine, can't do a thing wrong" while her daughter was yelled at, fought with etc, etc.
Why would she do something like that? This is her daughter who has travelled 1000ks to be with her Mum and she gets treated like dirt. I was so angry with my MIL.
I know part of it is punishing her because she is going back to China next year for 6 months. Sometimes I think my MIL is losing her mind and has the onset of dementia and othertimes I just think she is just manipulative.
Frustating is the only word I can think of to describe her behaviour at the moment that is halfway to being polite.

What a pity your MIL spoiled your weekend by being so petty. Hope it didn't spoil it too much and you still had a nice time with SIL and niece.

He is confused Vicki, still has looking for 'girl or guy' on his facebook page. But now Ebob has been kicked out of his house and I don't know where she is...
What a cow your MIL is Vicki. Manipulation and exceptional use of guilt.

Suzy, sending thoughts and hugs to you. Did you try sending Ebob a message on her FB page letting her know she can come home?
Victoria, sorry that you had your weekend ruined by a manipulative person. I hope the week gets better for you.
Don't remember much else. I need to leave early and drive Mitchell to school.

Suzy..... Tami gave you great advice. Just leave her a message on facebook. Then TRY not to worry (Impossible, I know).... You need to think of your own health right now. You're still recovering from that stroke.

Vicki... She sounds manipulative and selfish. Are you sure that isn't my mother you're talking about? Maybe not. My mother is also bipolar and schizophrenic. See? It could be worse!

Morning all,
Just a quick drop in as I'm off to make coffee today.
Hubby was able to reach Ebob via text after about 30 tries, she says she wants to work it out for herself... Probably because we told her this would happen before she left to live with them. Also because she knows we will make her go to school etc. I don't know if she'll have access to the internet.

Hello all,
Life is a bit hectic right now, so I have read the comments and thought appropriate thoughts.
Heidi, my hubby's problem is that he thinks like a man. He is a great guy, but sometimes really frustrating. Last night when we got home from my MIL's birthday dinner, he took care of all my evening chores including scooping the litter boxes. I didn't ask him to. Also after supper at his parents' he and my Son-IL did the dishes.
My daughter went back to the surgeon today to get stronger meds - the others just weren't working any more.
I have heard back from the Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP). He is going to bat for us with the Health Minister, but he is doubtful that it will help much. He also suggested I become an advocate for my daughter with her surgeon. I will have to look into that, how to go about it, etc.
Time to start supper.
