Thanks for the gift Heidi, but I just brought them home about 5 minutes ago. Not only did they pull the curtains down, but they dragged them around on the floor. With the number of cats we have, the curtains got kind of dusty. So just when I thought I was so clever by having the laundry done early, here we go again. Now off to clean up the toys and snippets of paper that they left lying all over the place. Good thing they're cute.

What would your ideal getaway be? I'm not talking about a holiday, just a weekend thing. I would love to stay in a hotel (by myself) for a weekend and do nothing but order room service and sleep and watch TV and read.

I would miss them, but I would love to get away for a few days with no one wanting something from me, no one to be around me. Of course I would have to buy a laptop so I could talk to you guys. I guess I'm just a little frazzled lately and I feel as if I'm not in control of my own life. It's being controlled by situations and circumstances around me.

Theresa, My mum used to do that. We had a dairy farm so Dad could not get away. We also lived with Mum's parents and her dad was an old so and so. She would book into a motel in the Blue Mountains for a couple of days by herself just to relax.

Thinking of the NZ miners. Unfortunately an explosion is a lot different to a mine collapse.
Take care of yourself Tricia. Nice to have him home but you may be doing a lot of caring for some time. Wise not to let Al be exposed to any type of possible infection.
I have been gardening this morning but now time to do some more swearing!!!

No Tami, there's really no place I can go to at this time. I was just dreaming. I have too many family obligations at this time. I think I'm just really tired and need to get to bed early. Tomorrow is another busy day.

Thanks Heidi, maybe someday we can meet.

Every time I walk into a room, I find these little notes taped to walls and doors from my youngest grandie (5 yrs. old): Gramo and Grampo, I loev yu. It is so sweet.

Well folks, thanks for listening to me. It's after 10:00 and I think I'll head to bed. Have a great night/day/evening/morning all. Hugs to all who need them. If I can't sleep, I'll be back.

Oh poor Theresa!! You need some time alone...If you can't actually have a getaway weekend, how about a long soak in the tub, beverage of choice, music & a lock on the bathroom door! That to me is bliss...Or time with my needlepoint/jewelrymaking & no noise (yep, total silence is bliss too!)

Theresa - I feel for you! And I completely understand - when Chloe is here on a Tuesday that is what my house is like. Her idea of cleaning up, if I can persuade her that far, is to take them to the door of the bedroom, where they are stored, and throwing them in from the door. I just make the bed and close the door until the next week. (My bad)

Theresa - I like that idea of a weekend away with room service and a few good books but I'd like the room to have a balcony with a comfy chair and an ocean view. Ahhh, happiness!!!

Good Night friends. I am calling it a day, even though a few things from today will have to trail over into tomorrow. Not enough energy to go round today.

Al is eating and drinking a LOT more today, that is very good. Did I say he lost 8 pounds while in hospital? would love to get some of it back in the next 2 weeks, fore we do chemo again.

I am with Cyn, hotel on the beach, nice breeze, shade, temp about 75, book, and absence of noise, no TV day and night. Heaven!

Suzy, thinking of you tonight, hope your day is off to a good start.

Theresa, hope you are resting well and recover for tomorrow. wouldn't you like a dose of that energy the grandies have??

See you all tomorrow, I am going to bed. Hugs with extras for all.

Hi everyone.
Have been very busy delivering Avon since last Wednesday afternoon.
I logged in orders for $5,500 for sales to 70 customers.
But when I received my invoice I found that they were only able to supply $3,600 of it.
A nightmare with the invoice and who got what and who did not get what etc.
On top of that still going through the same old crap here with hubby.
Off to be now, good wishes and hugs to you all.

Great Avon order Viv, too bad the company can't keep up with the orders!

Cyn, I will add a balcony and comfy chair to my getaway weekend. Of course it would have to be far away from here because it's just toooooo cold.

Thinking of you, MizT. Are you able to get away and run errands and leave Al on his own for a little while? I am thinking that you have spent so much time at the hospital you might have to make a grocery trip. Glad to hear Al is eating more (it must be the home cooking).

The temps are only going to a high of +1C today; currently it is -7 and with the wind chill it feels like -9. Definitely time for another coffee.

Theresa, I understand that you can't get away. Maybe you can meet a friend for a cup of coffee or lunch. Maybe a manicure or some other little indulgence that you like. Even an hour pampering yourself will help you recharge. I lost my mom's dad when I was not quite nine. I can still remember all the games we played. He had the patience of a saint. He would play 100 games of checkers in a row if that is what I wanted. The kids may not be able to show much appreciation now, but they will remember all you have done for them, and their mom.

I am not going to have a quiet Sunday like usual. Dylan is going to Hebrew school but Mitchell is staying home. He thinks he has a cold so I would rather him not spread germs this close to Thanksgiving.

Men! I love my hubby dearly, but George Clooney is sounding awful good right now. Hubby went to get a few groceries and even though I gave him a detailed list and I went over it with him before he left, he still came home with 4 out of 8 items wrong. He was also supposed to pick up a birthday card for his mom. He picks out one with a penguin on it that says "Hope your birthday is spectacular" ... the kind of card you would give a co-worker. Seriously, he couldn't find a Happy Birthday Mom card? Boy am I cranky today. He thought he'd bring dessert (even though I told him I was making the cake) and he comes home with a tiny box of strawberries. I lost it and told him how wonderful it was that there would be 11 of us at the dinner and we could each have a strawberry. I think he's mad at me now.

Last weekend I asked him to pick up some Chunky soup to bring to his parents because we were providing soup and sandwiches. He comes home with 3 different varieties!!!!! Do they use their heads to think practically????

Rant over for now. Must jump in the shower and get ready.

One more thing. I asked him to get fresh bread like you would find in a bakery. He comes home with two regular loaves of bread with an expiry date of tomorrow. Does anyone else have problems like this when their hubbies do the shopping?

My husband would shop for the bargains and forget what we need. When he comes shopping with me it always costs twice as much.

I know that feeling too, Brenda. Like the strawberries (very small container), he spent a fortune on those because they are out of season. I have to say I feel a bit better after my rant here. I think I'm just tired. I enjoy my weekends because my SIL is home and I don't have to do the chores at my daughter's. But this weekend was different and I think I've been over there just as much as on weekdays.

For example, this morning, my SIL was gone to the store and my daughter asked if I could come over and feed the cats and dog. She said her hubby was really tired and she was trying to save him some work. Inside I'm thinking "Well, your mother is really tired, how about fixing me some breakfast?" That sounds mean of me, I know, but it's just the mood I'm in. I keep things like that to myself. Some days I get really frustrated with her situation.

As I sit at the computer, my cat Frasier has his paws wrapped around my neck and keeps giving me kisses. Awwwww ... life isn't all that bad after all.

Theresa, Yes, I did get away to grocery on Friday. Not a good day to go, everyone shopping for the weekend, but it was necessary. Those few things that you use up or that go bad in 16 days, milk, bread, ice cream, pudding, yogurt, all the easy to swallow foods, fresh fruit and vegetables. I had to go to Bank to deposit my SS check, pharmacy also for some meds, and to take books back to library. My sister phoned them when books were one day overdue, explained why, they waived the fine. Same sister brought me paperback books, so I did not take time to check out more. It is taking longer to read a book now for some reason .

VIV, sorry you did not get all of your order, is this the second time that has happened? Or did I dream about this in advance?

Theresa, temp here is 70 degrees, warmer than norm, but I have my doors opened for the lovely breeze. Come on down, we can sit on my back porch. No fantastic view, but it is peaceful and we might see the hawks soaring. We have rain forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday, though so hurry.

Theresa, keeping all your frustration to yourself is not good. Venting here might help, but I see nothing wrong with your saying to your daughter, "you know hon, I am tired too. I need the weekends off to recharge batteries for another week."

Al would sometimes shop and bring just what was needed and sometimes he would buy everything that appealed to him, with or without the item needed. You just never knew.

OK, the microwave is beeping at me, I have forgotten what I put in there, but it must have been something I needed. Hugs to all with extras, take all you need.

Theresa..... I have a sneaking suspicion that we're married to the same man. He rarely gets the right thing the few times I ask him to shop, and always gets the smallest container possible. And he goes to great effort NOT to get the things I ask for. For instance, I once asked him to pick up a ready made angel food cake at the grocery store. (I was really sick and unable to bake one myself) He went to the bakery counter and asked for an angel food cake. They explained to him that they didn't have any behind the counter, but there were some on the shelf nearby. He told them that he had to have a cake from behind the counter only, so he came home empty handed. I had wanted one from the shelf. One of an infinite number of reasons that I refer to him as Idiot Husband.
