Hi Julie, take care of yourself. Friends and family understand when things don't get done and they do accept us as we are. Both you and your husband seem to be doing so much for others, that cards and things like that are not so important. Good luck with your internet connection.

You do an impressive job at summarizing, Julie!
with the internet problems. How can we miss something so much, that we never knew existed not too many years ago?

Hi everyone.
Thank you all for your concern about me.
I am still here, just had a big dummy spit over lots of things happening here with Avon and home life.
Hope everyone is fit and well and gearing up for Christmas.

Hi Viv, nice to see you here. I hope the pooter problems are OK now.
Busy day. Family left this morning to travel north for Christmas, We went to our other daughter to do some work on her farm. Ken slashed paddocks and I helped her rebuild the dog house. I am rather stiff and sore tonight. What a way for hubby to spend his birthday.

Morning all.

Suzy, what Gail said! Fingers crossed. You are always in my thoughts.

Hope MizT slept the night away and is still sleeping.

Hi Viv, nice to see you.

Gail, we all agree with what June said about our wishes for you for 2011.

Gotta grab a coffee and feed the cats, who are sitting here staring at me as if to say, "Well, we're waiting ...."

Suzy.... What great news! Just take it one day at a time with Ebob, and don't let the little things stress you..... The yardstick I use for stress now is thinking about: Will matter in 100 years. It won't? Will it matter in 25 years? Will it matter 10 years from now? Will it matter one year from now? If you answer no to all those questions, it's not worth worrying about. You know, I haven't found a whole lot of things that are worth stressing about.

Welcome back, Viv!!! You were missed.
Heidi - good yardstick! Another one I was told many years ago goes something like this - if you're worried about something, ask yourself - is it a possibility, a probability or a certainty. Then think, if it possible or probable, there's still a good chance it won't happen and nothing is certain in life - so stop worrying!!

She's right you know...

Another of my mottoes, apart from the one I keep bashing your ears with, is "Don't stress over the things in which you have no control". Like I keep saying to hubby when he gets all fired up over things, run for office and do something about it, or get over it!

We're going to try again today. The farrier will be here between 10:00 and 10:30. I'll need to get the horses up in about 15 minutes.

Morning all.
Viv, so good to see you back here. Hope all the pooter problems are fixed.
Gail, you are right, "it is what it is" Now if I could get my husband to think that way it would be better. He stresses over everything.
Tricia, hope you had a good night sleep.
Suzy, keeping you and your family in my thoughts. Hope things work out with Ebob.

Heidi, hope the farrier shows up today.

I woke up at 2am and woke up the boys. We went outside and got a view of the lunar eclipse. We saw the moon a little more than half covered. It was pretty cool to see and the boys enjoyed it. Even hubby came outside to see it. We were back in bed within 10 minutes.

On the subject of worry and stress, a good friend told me what her Mom had to say about tossing and turning the night away worrying instead of sleeping. Can DO something about it at 2 am? If it is, get up and do it. If not, go to sleep.

I did sleep my night through, thanks for the good wishes on that. got up and have already put away the groceries. I do need to call chiro for an appointment and HOPE he has one before Christmas. Usually he can work me in, unless he has closed for the holiday, Oh I hope not! I can phone in about 45 minutes.

Forgot to say GOOD MORNING FRIENDS .

SUZY, perhaps the visit will become permenant, we hope so. In any event, nice to have daughter home for Christmas.

GAIL, good advice to hubby. wonder if mine would listen to that?

Good to see VIV here, hope things you re stressing over work out to the good.

CynB, I like your " nothing is a certainty" , I must remember that one.

Heidi, did you get more snow? I was watching weather on news last night and it seemed snow was close to your area.

Theresa, my cats must have taken lessons from yours, their "looks" can say volumes.

Did anyone stay up or get up to see the eclipse? First time in 300+ years it fell on the winter solstice. It was cloudy here, I did not bother even trying, drats. Daughter in California was interested in seeing it, but big rain storms there. she arrived home last night, said they almost skidded in sideways for that landing, it was rough in the storm. But she is safely home now, as long as they do not wash away in the continuing storms.

Hubby woke early, evidently hungry. He got a bowl of cereal and is now back asleep.

Weather is warm and cloudy with a chance of showers. At least it is warm out, will be almost 60 today. We need to do the last minute gift shopping, he has not been able to get out to get what he wants. Perhaps later.

Hugs to all with extras, I hope to drop in again later.

Hugs to you, MizT.

Heidi, hope the horses have new shoes for Christmas by now!

Youngest grandie is home from school today with a fever. Their Christmas concert is tonight, so I don't know if she'll make it or not. She does not like to miss a day of school (senior kindergarten), while the oldest grandie would prefer not to go to school at all. Different as night and day in that way.

We're taking a break halfway through the job, The first three horses (Miss Kitty, Buddy and Red Hawk) were as good as gold... then we tried to trim Sadie's feet. It got REALLY ugly. She was in a foul mood, and nearly demolished the barn. Nobody got hurt, thank goodness, but it took nearly 2 hours to trim 3 feet. We gave up on the fourth foot. She was going to keep fighting until she killed herself. In half an hour, we'll do the other three horses. I don't know how Ouima will act, but Flash and Challenger won't be too hard.

The last three horses were pretty good. Flash and Challenger were restless, but didn't act up. Ouima was perfect!! She took after her namesake. Including the lunch break, it took 6 hours to do 7 horses. Next time we're going to heavily sedate Sadie first.

Morning all,
Mum and Ebob have gone out so I can finally get onto the computer.. Mum had to check her fb page this morning though.

Mum is taking Ebob to see if she can get her gov money to come through and if she can get her into the youth shelter. She has told her that she is not allowed to bum off other people anymore so if all of that doesn't work out today she will hopefully be home again tonight. She sat on the lounge with me last night and put her feet on my lap - Ebob not mum - which I think is a good sign - not hating me so far.

I had the chance to say to her that she's a beautiful, intelligent, talented human being who should be travelling the world and living her dreams and it broke my heart to see her bumming around wasting her life.

Let's keep everything crossed she can't get into the shelter, though she knows they have 3 rooms available so we may not be that lucky.

My bro who has only just started talking to me again has offered to take her in! Could have knocked me over with a feather!!

The first thing Ally said when she got up this morning 'where's Ebob?' Sent that to Ebob in a text.

Hi Steve and eaa - and merry Christmas!
Suzy - don't despair even if Ebob gets into the shelter. I would imagine it would be lonely, she hasn't had to deal with that yet. The warmth and love at home will soon look good!

Well 3 more sleeps to Christmas and I have just finished writing out my Christmas cards - and then only to the efficient people who have sent them to me. Am I bad??
Colin finishes work today until 4th January. He'll probably sleep for a week!
I had my last day of looking after Chloe yesterday. She spends the next 3 weeks with her Dad, then 1 full week (incl Tues) at Kindy, then Prep School. She and Santa became such good friends on her weekly visits!

Cyn, you are bad, but not as bad as I am. I have not done cards this year, just too much going on. I do think we have received more cards than usual this year, too. I congratulate you on getting cards written before Christmas.

HI STEVE, HI eea, good to see both of you make a holiday appearance. Merry Christmas to you and your families.

Oh SUZY, your friend moving here Christmas week? Not a time I would have picked, but the time may have picked her? What a good friend you are to go help.

HEIDI, glad the horses now have new shoes. I can see now just how the furrier's schedule can get put aside, I am sure she had not scheduled 7 hours at with your horses. Sedation for the one acting up sounds like a good idea.

Well, today I have found out both girls got sick while here, Tanya has a cold and Joy has tonsillitis. I do hope they did not share germs with Al before leaving for home. I need to ask if anyone else got a cold since the Christmas party. We were saying how lucky no one was sick for the party, usually someone is. Guess we talked too soon.

Al has been on phone for almost an hour with Joy. I sent work, I do not believe she has a sore throat, that should keep her from talking an hour!

Al went today to do his Christmas shopping. Once finished, he stopped into a cafe and bought himself a BLT sandwich. He has been wanting one for weeks. He said even that was disappointing. Nothing tastes the same for him now. He will not even have a beer, said they are horrible!

I have Calico Beans in the crock pot. the beans seem done, but still too juicy. I have removed the lid and hope some of the excess can cook off. House smells good though. I need to find more crock pot recipes before next week, put on before we go for his treatment, and will have dinner when we get home. I had a computer file with over 100 recipes in it, but so long ago, it was probably lost in one or another hard drive crash.

I did get a chiro appointment for tomorrow, hope it does the trick. Back and hips are just not right, and need to be before Monday.

Hugs to all and hope your Christmas preparations are going smoothly. Till Tomorrow
