Hope the sickies are feeling better... I'm so proud of the way we've fitted 9 seats into our little dining room that I posted a picture for you!
Theresa, the day I like my kids the least all year is their birthdays - they turn into absolute monsters for a day! Sounds like you have a bit of the same going on!!

Theresa, I understand about sick kids wanting cuddles even when they are sick. When I was pregnant with Dylan my mom got mad when I would pick up Mitchell. How do you tell a 3 year old, mommy can't pick you up. They don't understand, they just want mommy.

Hi everyone! Having a wonderful Christmas Day - hope you all have the same! Finished the turkey and veg, having a big rest before we attack the sweet stuff. :)
We've had lots of fun and everyone is happy and relaxed - Rob's new (mini) helicopter was a big hit (so to speak), and there was fun and frivolity all round. Watching tv now (Going Postal) and getting ready for the cheescake and shortbread, etc. MMmm!
Hope you are all having (or will have) a great time. Peace and Joy to everyone. :D

Thinking of Susan from Queensland. I've just been trying to compare a map of north Queensland with the news reports and there is severe flooding about 100 km north of her and south west of her. Doesn't that put her in the middle of it all?

Suzy - got a text from Susan this AM. They have floods to the North and South so can't get out but so far her town is OK. But she thinks she might need flippers. There's people stranded everywhere up there. The remnants of the cyclone are heading south - like any of Queensland needs more rain. It's flooding in Bundaberg - hope Nola is OK.

I've got a queasy tummy this morning. Oh, well. IH is happy. He got what he wanted for Christmas.
I asked for only one thing, and didn't get it. All I wanted were some blintzes.
I got a meat thermometer and a cutting board. And a chunk of IH's favorite cheese. IH is SO extravagant!

Christmas Day has dawned, and it is raining. Nothing like the flooding rains in Oz, thankfully. The rain will turn to snow later, there is already snow in ALABAMA.
OOOPS, started this early AM and forgot to send, it is later now, and I just got snow photos from my BIL who is about 75 miles north and east of us. Still rain here, but the temp has dropped to 36. Will we get much snow? Still uncertain.

Heidi, I am sorry Gill did not find your blintzes. I know you did not expect him to be generous, never has been has he? Just go and get yourself what you really wanted for Christmas. Is it snowing at your house? How much do you have on the ground from yesterday?
GAIL, did I miss something? who is the newest member of your family??? My brain is not working today.
SUZY, would take me a lot of chlorine in that pool for I got back in it! Maybe even drain it, scrub it and start again if the horse had left droppings. YUCK

MizT... there aren't any stores within an hour, at least, that sell blintzes. But IH delivers meats near places that that sell kosher food. He was just to lazy to make an effort. As usual.

It's snowing heavily here. We only got 2 inches last night, then it stopped until an hour ago. It IS beautiful out there. The roads should be OK, since there is no ice under the snow... for a change.

Hi all.
Gail...what you and the family have done,is what christmas is all about. How wonderful for your visitor to spend the day in your company making it the best christmas ever.
I hope all who are sick are soon better.
We had a lovely day at work as nearly half went home for the day to celebrate with family which was very nice for them.
Then had our family gathering at Renae's.All the grandies were excited and it was lovely to watch them open up a few more presents.
It is still raining here and I am getting a bit concerned.Parts of Bundaberg are flooding but mostly near the Burnett river low areas in parks.
We live 8oo metres from the river but there is a huge drop down to water level. Our problem is not enough run off and the already saturated ground leaves huge areas of water laying around.
Further north are worse off and there has been a cyclone near Cairns (only small though).
Greg found 3 parrots inside the netted lychee tree, happily chomping away on the ripening fruit. They must be clever to get in but couldn't get out.
Wish me luck that I won't need a boat to get to work if this keeps up.
Catch you later.

Just had a wonderful chat with Heidi on Skype. She showed me one of her baby lovebirds. It is yellow with orange around the face. She was so cute. Even the beastie boys liked her. They were trying to come up with names for it.

I am exhausted! After a busy day yesterday, we had Col's step-father overnight. He's a nice enough old codger but he goes on and on about alternative fuels, alternative foods and the sorry state the world is in. I just ended up depressed!! Col is now taking him to another brother's place. This brother has a Granny flat (empty), lives on acreage and wants the step-Dad to move in there. We hope he does, he'll have room to plant his fruit and veggies, a place to himself but the company of Col's brother and family nearby. Ideal situation. Where he is now they moved to so that Col's late Mum was closer to medical access, is just a normal house-block in a not too salubrious suburb north of Brisbane.

I forgot to mention on here, but remembered when I talked to Tami and the family.... Two more nests of finches hatched out today! One nest has 4 babies, and I don't know how many are in the other nest. That's a GREAT Christmas present!

STEP BACK FROM YOUR C9MPUTER!
I just sneezed with enough force to send germs thought the internet! You might need to spray with disinfectant.
Up cause the bed is not my friend at the moment, we have fought most of the night. This virus is getting worse, not better. I am so worried AL will get it. Also, that I will not be able to take him to his treatments. Well, nothing worrying will fix, is it?
Although there were snow flurries here and north to Birmingham, not enough to be officially a "White Christmas". I wonder just how much snow on the ground qualifies as a white Christmas?
Back to bed for me, my eyes watering so much I have trouble seeing. No hugs today, I do not want to share germs. I will send best wishes instead.
