Hope you will be OK MizT. I agree to keep away from Al. I gave my bug to Belinda but she is much worse than I was.
I feel for all you people up Notrth with all the rain. We hav had some showers the last couple of days but the garden has appreciated it.
Suzy, glad your Mum is OK. Just keep being cool with D1 and things will eventually work out.

I braved the after Christmas sales today. I now have all my cards for next year. The shops were not as busy as they have been other years.
We bought a new LED TV for the bedroom for ourselves for Christmas. We now have to get an aerial connection put in. The old one works on the Rabbit ears but I think this will need something a bit more sophisticated.

I bought Ken a 35mm slide and film scanner last September but he had not used it. Sharon went to set it up today to scan a couple of slides. He had taken it out of the box and now we cannot find CD or warranty etc. We did eventually find the instruction manual and Sharon was able to download something off the net but we do still need the disc to use it properly! Just had a call from one of those scammers again saying she was from Windows tech support, had a bit of fun when she asked if I had a computer and said well you should know if I have a computer since you are calling me about it. Hehe bad Broni!

I told one I did not intend to have her put a virus into my computer and another time I just said "I do not have a computer" .That threw him into shock! Ken's cousin takes up lots of the holiday deals but I just say I am not interested.

June, the shops here are packed! I couldn't get onto the highway yesterday for all the tourists heading south. It's raining today so guess where they all went?!
I haven't got one of those scammers yet. I'm actually looking forward to it!

Good morning everyone.
Tricia, I do hope you are feeling better soon. The mask sounds like a good idea.
Heidi, way to go on the lovebirds. Can't wait to see the new ones.
To all the down under people, hope the rain stops soon and you don't get to mouldy.
It is crazy weather all over. It is snowing up north and shut down a lot of the airports. I am glad it is only cold down here, and not snowing.

Party went well last night. One of hubby's friends called early to say he was sick and not coming. Another of hubby's friends, one of singles, also called to say he was not feeling well. He was going to bring his sister and niece also. That was 4 people less than expected. Not a problem but I made way too much dessert. It ended up being a fun evening. The other couple I was trying to match up were both here, we will see. Everyone had a great time, talking and laughing. It was a good night with good friends. Mitchell was a little upset as the niece that was coming is about his age.

Morning all - just got up from a nap.
Is there anyone else out there who is glad all the hub-bub is over and done with for another year?
-10C here with a wind chill of -20. I have turned up the heat and intend on hibernating today.

The hub-bub is far from over here, Theresa. IH is still in the dog house over his cheapness and lack of thoughtfulness. His birthday is in less than a month, and he's going to get a taste of his own medicine. I plan on lowering myself to his level for the day.

Hi everyone.
Just letting you know that we are ok with all this rain. It is still bucketing down and more parts of Bundy are flooding.Hopefully is should start to ease off today. Renae had to move their cars to higher ground and they were ciphering water from the back patio to keep it coming inside. We have about a 1 inch clearance before it goes into the shed but Greg is more confident than me,and thinks it wont go that high.
I have seen the news about the East Coast of US and the snow storms, Perth WA having 40 deg temps, snow in Tasmania and floods in Qld & NSW.
What a world we live in.
Suzy..hope your Mum is OK now.
Brenda...how are you going in the snow and can hubby get to work?
Tricia..get better quickly and I hope Al doesn't catch it.
June..hope you manage to find the disc.Good on you for getting a new bedroom tv.Wish I had the money to go to the sales as there seem to be lots of bargains.
Heidi..what a sad christmas present from IH.At least you will get the baby birds to cheer yourself up.
I will have some coffee Tami! Thanks. Your kitchen sounds really nice and I look forward to the pix.
Theresa..I agree.Christmas is nice but I don't like the crowds and trying to pick appropriate presents.Enjoy your hibernation in the warmth.

Nola, we are being very fortunate and have had very little snow here. Richard managed to get into work every day though occasionally a few minutes late. He has been on holiday since xmas eve and doesn't go back until Jan 4th. Hope Greg is correct and you have no problem with flooding.
The weather around the world is very weird at the moment. Hope everyone is either keeping warm and dry or cool.
MizT hope you are feeling ok now and Al managed to miss out on the bug.

Al did not stzrt the 6 weeks of treatment today. The radiation machine they were installing over the holiday is not ready. They were going to send him some distance to have it done. Then he talked to chemo doc about my virus, and our concern over him catching this if his immune system is depressed. She agreed, No chemo today, so they just cancled it all till next Monday.
I have tried to read posts, just not gonna happen today. My eyes are watering so I cannot focus. Dern Virus!!
I am going back to bed, use all my energy napping in my recliner today
I will check in again soon.
Sending good wishes instead of germy hugs!

Nola, fingers crossed about the water not rising!!! The storm in the eastern States has also hit eastern Canada. On the other hand we have very little snow, but it is brutally cold.
I have indeed hibernated today - I am still in my pyjamas and it's already heading towards 5:00 p.m. Hubby took care of the outside feral cats for me today because I just didn't want to go outside. What a sweetie.
Heidi, when it gets closer to IH's birthday, go and buy a store cake about a week ahead of time so that it is not so fresh. Tell him you got it on sale because it's not fresh.
Yesterday's dinner with the outlaws and other family went fairly well. Two people in particular were not terribly in the Christmas spirit and that put a bit of a downer on the day. That plus my FIL cannot hear very well, and he was watching a hockey game with the volume turned all the way up. I had such a headache. He refuses to get treatment for it, even though the doctor has told him in the past that something can be done for it. He is so stubborn - now I know where my hubby gets it from.
I have spent most of the day knitting and now it's time to fling food. TTFN. Hugs to all.

Good morning all!
Tami - give Mamacita a great big hug from me! She ia a wonderful lady and I wish I could meet her too - maybe one day!
Nola - hope the flooding doesn't rise any higher. At least with the lull overnight, some might have flowed away. I have another friend up in Bundy and heard last night that she is safe.
MizT - May be best that they put Al's chemo off until next week. Hopefully you will be well by than and he won't have caught it!
Theresa, I hibernated yesterday - it was raining so much that I realised I was still in my nightie at 1pm!

Morning all, it is still morning isn't it? It feels like a whole day has passed already. Ally is having a friend over so I have already sworn at the kitchen, picked up some other mess and pushed the sucky thing around. Oh and spent an hour trying to get the internet working somewhere other than here for Mum since she was so nervous about here.
Nola, I'm so glad you are still okay. I keep thinking about you and wondering!
Heidi, deodorant sounds good to me. Great inappropriate birthday present, another oprtion is perhaps socks or undies or a tie. A car wash kit is another good one.
Theresa, I hope your headache is well and truly gone after your relaxing day and that the kids had a good time in spite of the grinches.
Broni, is it flooding near you too or just very wet?
We have that big hot thing in the sky again today. After sitting under blankets yesterday it is a relief to be warm.
Tami, have a good time with Mamacita and add a hug from me too please.
Brenda, enjoy your break with Richard home. I hope it isn't too cold.

Heidi - I think you should start a competition on here for the best suggestion of the most useless birthday gift for IH!
Col suggested a book on something he's not interested in like 'Motor Mechanics', 'Macrame' or 'How to make paper flowers'.

We got to my sister's yesterday afternoon but had to make a detour right down to the Esplanade and double back. A little, normally unnoticable, creek on the regular road had broken it's banks and was now a raging torrent. Some cars were going through but we decided on the detour. If you proceed into obvious floodwaters, get stuck and have to call the emergency services, you get booked! The rain eased over the hours we were there, tide receded, and the road was passable going home.
