Rolanda - have a great time away!

MizT - since I have just gotten over some type of flu, hopefully I am immune. Sending hugs to you anyway ....

I had a night like MizT, tossing and turning and spending much of the night TRYING to sleep. Today is a busy day - look after the grandies for a few hours and then off to the in-laws for dinner. Plus the house is a mess and desperately needs straightening. Hopefully tonight will be better and I will sleep, sleep, sleep. Well, up and at 'em, Theresa.

Have a great holiday Rolanda.
MizT, I understand your worry. Get well soon and I hope Al will be OK.
Had a nice Christmas with some lovely presents. I was a bit 'ordinary' and did not eat anything much till tonight. I still do not have much of an appetite. Good that I have not over eaten at Christmas!
[[Hugs]]to you all.

Why did getting a new fridge cause me so much krow??? All my cabinets are white, stove and dishwasher are white with black trim and new fridge is black. I have changed all my cabinet handles to black and got a new black accent rug. Have scrubbed (sorry for swearing) all the cabinets and now kitchen looks almost brand new. Have black microwave and coffee maker, now want a black toaster instead of white one. My toaster is new so I may have to break my mom's and then give her mine

I will post a picture of my kitchen soon. We are having friends tonight for a dessert/drinks party. Did not feel like cooking dinner. Among the guests are two single guys and two single girls. For those of you who have seen Fiddler on the Roof, cue the music to "Matchmaker, Matchmaker"

We're having light flurries, but nothing adding to the 4 inches on the ground from yesterday. It's another good day to stay inside (except for feeding and watering critters.).

I'm getting so much pleasure from watching the birds. They have such fun personalities. And I'm having a lot of fun studying their color genetics in depth. It's enabled me to determine that both baby lovebirds are females!! I have 2 young pastel males, so that really worked out well.

Heidi,Ihave had on amst today and yesterday. Notso much I believe it is airborne and the mask will filter it, but to keep me from toughing my nose and mouth and spreading germs on everything I touch.

Had chills all afternoon, then as dusk approaches, I have fever. His is not fun! Al is considering sleeping in the dome tonight. I have stopped preparing his food, he has been preparing mine this afternoon.

Broni, even with the fever I feel better than when I was having chills. I HATE those. Nearly shook my false teeth out of my head.

Safe Travels Rolanda, and the 4 of you enjoy dinner with auntie tonight.

Heidi, safe trip for you too, how far is it to Chattanooga? Hope the new genetics gives you the results you want. Breeding for color?

SUZY, Wishing your Mom a speedy recovery.
does she dislocate that hip as often as it sounds?

My eyes are tired and weak, I think I need to go watch the inside of my eyelids again a while. It is almost like radio, been listening to TV movies. Miss huge hunks of the plot though when I drop off to sleep.

Good wishes for everyone, no hugs yet. I just feel so germy!!

Rolanda - probably missed you but enjoy your holiday in Albany. Lovely place to be.

Hi to everyone else - hope you're recovering from the over-eating that is Christmas. Col and I just didn't feel like eating last night and eventually got ourselves a light meal at 9pm!

Look like our get-together with my brother, sister and spouses - afternoon tea with Mum and dinner and games at sis's place may be cancelled. My brother, who lives west of Brisbane within 1km of Wivenhoe Dam is so close to being flooded in that they're worried that if they leave to spend the evening down here, they may not get back home. What a bummer but can't be helped! Will decide in an hour or so!

By the way.... IH outdid the rake gift this year. I didn't think he could go lower, but he did. He gave me a meat thermometer (value $2) and a cheap plastic cutting board (value $5).

Heidi - I know where I would have put that thermometer and he wouldn't have felt comfortable. And although not wanting to incite more violence, the chopping board might be good for a few swift slaps around the head!
I know it's the thought that counts but there's obviously been no thought process involved.

Afternoon all,
All sorted. She shocked the docs. They thought they would be admitting her for a couple of days, but we told them she had gone straight home the last 2 times she'd dislocated so they shrugged their shoulders and said okay. This is the 4th times she's dislocated. It helped that she was going back to my house and not home alone..

It took them forever though. She dislocated at 5.20am - trying to log into facebook!! Hubby found her at 6 and called the ambulance as soon as he'd woken me, and they didn't put her hip back together until almost 1pm! She was in agony and then as soon as it was done she was fine. She is sleeping now.

I also took Ebob over to her work so she could talk to her boss about why she wasn't getting any shifts. Turns out her contact details were out of date so they classified her as 'disappeared'. She now has a shift tomorrow morning and is over the moon.

MizT, I hope you are feeling better by the time you read this. I understand why Al might want to sleep in the dome and I think it's very clever of you to wear the mask so you don't touch your nose.

Rolanda, I think I've missed you but I hope you have a good time anyway.

Heidi, maybe on your trip to Chattanooga you will pass a place that sells blintzes - did I get that right? You could stock up on them and eat them in front of Gil!

Cyn, I hope your brother and his family don't get cut off by the floods. I was trapped for a few hours one day and that was bad enough. Just knowing I was stuck was stressful.

Tami, I hope you have a nice dinner even if the matchmaking plans don't work out.

Judy, I hope you had a good christmas and all is well at your house.

June, I wish I hadn't felt like eating. The funny thing is I feel like I've gained heaps but yesterday the scales said I had lost half a kilo! Impossible, I'm sure it will correct itself today.

Nola, I hope you have a couple of days off coming up...

Broni - and is it bucketing down!! We were just about to go out but won't even make it to my sister's at Redland Bay - 5 kms away - little tidal creeks.
My brother isn't coming. They're used to being flooded in there. And if they get flooded in, it's usually for a week or more. Hope to see him on Saturday IF they can get out then.
We haven't see monsoonal rain like this since the 70's, when Brisbane had it's worst flooding for 80 years.
