Not exactly words of wisdom, Gail. I know a fun way to dispose of threatening spiders..... it involves an aerosol can and a lighter. They make a quick blow torch to crisp spiders. I used to use it on tarantulas in the kitchen.

Heidi, Mitchell LOVED Barney when he was little. If nothing else could calm him down, I would put Barney on and that did the trick. During his band concert last year, the music teacher had them play the Barney theme and all the parents sang along.

I love you,
You love me,
We're a happy family
With a great big hug and a kiss from me to you,
Won't you say you love me too.

I've decided not to go to the Cattlemen's Meeting tonight. The roads are still icy, especially my driveway, and I don't want to brave them again today.

Gekko all,
Can't help it - I'm grinning! Gail, you sound like Ebob! Neither of the girls like spiders but she won't even walk through a door if there is one there. Having said that I was driving over town this morning and screamed - there was a bloody big huntsman on my dashboard. Workmen down the road must have heard me because they watched me when I pulled over and chased it out of the car with a piece of paper - probably LTAO.

Thinking of MizT and Al - all kinds of hugs, thoughts and wishes from me ♥♥

Heidi, that was a scary drive!

Tami, that song worked for Alie too, but for Ebob it was the mocking bird song. I used to make up silly words to either make her laugh or all gooey ones.

Believe in Yourself...
Believe in all you want to be. Don’t let what other people say or do make you frown. Laugh as much as possible. Let in the good times and get through the bad. Be happy with who and where you are. You are in the right place, and your heart is leading you on the way to a great tomorrow. When circumstances seem difficult, pull through them. This will make you stronger than you think. The longer you practice the habit of working toward your dreams, the easier the journey will become.

You were meant for great things. Learn as much as possible. Always follow your dreams. Ashley Rice

Hi everyone!

Ew to spiders! But I hate squishing them - I can chase them though: a piece of newspaper and kinda guide them to the door ... I have a VERY bad memory (which I'll kindly share!) of a giant huntsman on the floor ... tried to scare it away, and instead it ran up the leg of the high-chair where my baby was enjoying a snack ... Arghh! what to do? It was very bad at taking the hint - took me ages to brush it off the high chair, then I had to chase it around for a while, finally got it to the front door, then I think I couldn't persuade it to go out ... and, I think I did squish it, by accident - it was a very contrary creature! Then I cried all over the kid for a while - she seemed a bit bemused. Silly Mummy! At least I managed not to scare her, though I did have a few nightmares ... Ah, happy days ...

We have hit a really rough patch here. doc said it was expected, but Al had to do it sooner and worse than most. He has not had treatment Monday or Tuesday. After I could not get a call through to let them know he was not comming today, someone phoned us. Found out what was going on and the nurse told him, if that happens again, you are to go straight to ER. He did not even wake me to let me know, and was better by time I got up this morning. MEN!

I ran away from home this morning. His brother came down to visit, supposed to be to help but that is another story, and I left them with it and went to the senior center to see what was going on. Learned to play SkipBO, again. They served lunch and I was invited (usually have to let them know earlier, but they "had plenty".

Be back to read and comment when I can, hugs and love to all. If you need me, PM or send e-mail, I know several of you have my address.

Gekko! Another late night here! I'm going to finish reading page 544.

Hi, Suzy, Broni, Gail, Tami, Theresa and Heidi!

Broni, I understand being tired of nagging. Is there someone else who can do it for you?

Thinking of rehab/physical therapy - when I had physical therapy for sciatica, the male therapist showed me some exercises, handed me a strap to help facilitate some of the stretches, told me how many to do - then walked away. When my husband had physical therapy for sciatica, the female therapist showed him some exercises and helped him with all of his stretches. Then when he was at home, he expected me to do the stretches for him while he just lay there. Men!

Gail, yep, I like your "twenty minutes" until dinner's ready and dinner is "6-ish"! The "ish" part gives you all the leeway you need!

Tami, keeping you in my thoughts! I hope you're not losing sleep over the problem! {{{HUGS}}}

Heidi, thank you so much for sharing the update on Al! I hope his cough is better!

Heidi, I'm sorry the calves didn't get as good a price as you had hoped! What horrible weather you're having! I hope it improved before the Cattlemen's dinner, if you decided to go. BTW, I've heard of Schwan's, but I don't think they are in our area. It sounds like a good idea.

Theresa, don't you just wish you could figure out what puts your grandie into a mood - and how to get her out! I bet she wishes she could figure it out, too! {{{HUGS}}} to you - and to her and her sister!

Gail, when I read your post about a huntsman on your bathroom floor, the first picture that flashed through my mind was NOT a spider.

Have now arrived on page 545. (We're approaching the goal eaa set for us!)

Hi, Heidi, Tami, Gail, Suzy, Judy, MizTricia and Broni!

Heidi, I think you made a wise choice to miss the Cattlemen's Meeting tonight!

I'm laughing about Barney and his songs. I am pleased to report that my children didn't care for Barney. They enjoyed Mr. Rogers and Sesame Street, though.

Suzy, I really like the saying on your bookmark! I hope Ebob will, too!

Judy, how thoughtful of you to amuse the baby, rather than pass on the fear of spiders! (Phooey, the Smilies won't load.)

Heidi, a CASE of blintzes! What did he do that he's trying to make up for? Oh, well, who cares when you have a case of blintzes?

MizT, {{{{{HUGS}}}}} for both you and Al! SO sorry that this bump in the road had to hit! You said that he is doing better than overnight, so that is something to be glad about! I think you made a good decision to run away from home for the morning! I hope tomorrow will be better for both of you!

Well, Friends, it's 1:30 a.m. and time to head to bed. Sending LOTS of {{{{{HUGS}}}}}, positive thoughts and prayers, mutters and murmurs for everyone! Please take as many as you like, as they will magically replenish! Good Night!

Gekko again,
Alie is in her room bellowing as she has a performance on Saturday to rehearse for. It was only arranged on Tuesday!

Because she has associations with 2 different dance studios and Pride I found out some dates tonight to see if we were going to have heartache later in the year... Well, nothing clashes but there is no free time either! I'm glad she loves this stuff or she'd be miserable!!

MizT, so pleased that you were able to have some "ME" time, Something you definitely needed.
I did the same today. Went to the movies with a friend. Saw 'Morning Glory'. Just one of those easy to see, a bit of a giggle and came out nice and relaxed. I did see the "King's Speech" a couple of weeks ago.

I always find the photo on today's Parents Page sad as it was taken over two years ago just after my friend started her first lot of Chemo. Not knowing what was ahead she wanted the enjoyment of taking her daughter to the zoo. Since then we have also visited Western Plain Zoo and done lots of fun things together.

Morning all.

Julie, I had a different vision of huntsman in my mind as well, but was afraid to ask. What Gail does in her bathroom with whom is none of my business.

Suzy, love the bookmark's sentiment. Hope Ebob appreciates it.

Wonder if Heidi is still on a blintz "high". My first thought was the same as Julie's, what did he do that would warrant buying a case of them.

Thinking of MizT and Al. {{HUGS}

June, such nice memories of good days ... which will come again. Hugs to you too, and to your friend.

Suzy, I see a lot of running around in your future.

Coffee is ready, help yourself.

Judy, a blintz is the Jewish version of a cannolli or egg roll. It is dough that is stuffed with cheese or fruit and then rolled and fried. It is usually softer than an aggroll, not crispy. They are great served with applesauce or, my favorite, sour cream on top. There is a place near me that makes them "homemade" and they have a chocolate chip cheese one that is fabulous.

Had mommy's night out last night, as usual on Tuesday, and feel a little better. Laughing with friends over coffee can really help. We had big giggles over what our son's do. There are three of us that go out while our boys are all in Hebrew school. It gives us 2 hours. The other 2 boys went to preschool together and Mitchell met them just before he turned 6. They have been friends ever since. The parents have gotten closer over the years. We share stories of the goofy things 13/14 year old boys do.

Gail, I also had a different picture of a huntsman on your bathroom floor. I like my vision better I also do not like spiders. I got bit on the leg by a spider, years ago, and it ended up getting infected and causing my leg to swell. Since then, I have not really liked spiders.

Hi to everyone else I did not mention by name. You are all in my thoughts even if I don't say anything. As obsessed as Mitchell was with Barney, Dylan was worse with Blue's Clues. He walked around looking for "clues" and had to have his "handy dandy notebook." They have both since grown out of that but both of them love Spongebob.
