Hi all!
I understood Suzy's reference to the Dragons since we are a NRL following family. We support the Broncos and their old coach (of 20 years - Wayne Bennett) jumped ship to the Dragons and led them to a grand final premiership within 2 years.
Tami, I'm sorry to hear about your party. ((hugs))
MizT and Al

I've got to run and get some food to feed the visitors (SIL and BIL from Canberra). Fish on the BBQ and salad for dinner followed by Raspberry and White Chocolate cheesecake (still to be made).
They are off visiting with MIL - it sounds like a typical visit. We tried to keep it a suprise but the oldest niece blabbed last night.
SIL to her mother on the phone "Are you glad we're here?" MIL's reply "I didn't ask you to come"
Honestly, I really don't know why they bother coming at all!!!

Where's CynB? I haven't seen her comment since a day or two after our last Sudoku meet with CP.
I hope she is ok.

Vicki, Cyn is alive and kicking over on that other page - playing lexulous anyway!

Your MIL is a depressing person to be around... I think they bother coming because there are nice people around who give them Raspberry and White Chocolate Cheesecake!!

I asked Ally what it was like seeing the football players and she said it was fun, no smile. What did they talk about? Mostly PBS stuff - that is a new respect program at the school and probably other schools..

Gekko, friends and neighbors! I'm arriving here late tonight (past 11:30 p.m) and wouldn't you know it . . . we've had a chatty lot here today and I have 2.5 pages to read. Tomorrow night we have club meeting, so I don't want to get too far behind.

Our "high" temperature predicted for tomorrow is 7 *F (-13.8 *C) and the predicted low is below zero *F (about -18 *C) with wind chills around -20 *F (-29 *C). I really don't want to go outside and have to walk to and from the parking lot in those temperatures, but as membership chairpersons, we have no choice. I'll be thinking warm thoughts of my friends while I'm outside!

Hi, Heidi, Gail, Suzy, Broni, Rolanda, Theresa, June, Brenda, Tami and eaa!

Heidi, no wonder you're looking forward to receiving the female canaries! You'll have a pleasant surprise each time they have babies and the feathers come in!

Will switching the calving to fall instead of spring have much of an impact on sale prices? It certainly sounds like it may make life a bit easier, as it will be less cold, freezing-muddy and not as dark as late winter/early spring. Since you will make the change gradually, how many years do you anticipate the change will take?

Suzy, I enjoyed your story about Cadence. You obviously have a musical background to know what a cadence is! I can certainly understand your hesitation and feeling vulnerable with a house guest, but you're right that you need to show some trust. Thinking positive thoughts that all goes as it should and there will be no replay of the previous situation! Since you were told that it is just for the night, I think it would be fair to help transport the guest to his aunt's home tomorrow.

Suzy, good catch to be suspicious about the virus and spyware notification! As Broni said, your brain is functioning well!

Broni, will keep you and Possum (and the surgeons and doctors) in our prayers and positive thoughts on Valentine's Day! Also, positive thoughts about a better than 50% recovery! Remember, that's the average, and I'm sure Possum is far better than average and will do rehab exercises diligently!

Rolanda, thank you for the update on Colleen and the house! Is the bushfire out?

Continuing on page 542:

Theresa, I'm SO glad to hear that the heartburn seems to have disappeared overnight. You didn't mention your queasy stomach, but I hope that is also improved! Hope you have a good day! (The nap was a great idea!)

June, for someone who didn't sleep well, you got a LOT accomplished. I'm glad the day was cooler so you could do some gninori, plus make 2 batches of plum jam and "a few" cakes! WOW, you deserve a good night's sleep. (The thicker plum jam would be great on toast, I would think!)

Brenda, good luck to you in moving the bedroom furniture. Keeping fingers crossed for dry and not-too-cold or windy weather while the roof is removed and the ceiling work done. Do you have some tarps or other kind of covering for the furniture that must remain in the room? I hope you and Richard can enjoy your little bit of time away! Hoping all goes well with the repairs!

Heidi, sorry you had rain, then snow! What a mess things must become - and especially this close to calving!

Wonderful words of wisdom, eaa! Thank you!

Moving on to page 543:

Hi, eaa, Heidi, Theresa, Tami, Suzanne, Gail, Judy and Suzy!

More wonderful words of wisdom from eaa! I like them all, but I like the first three the very best. They're definitely worth repeating!

"Today I close the door to the past...open the door to the future, take a deep breath and step on through to start the next chapter in my life..."

"ANGELS EXIST but sometimes, since they don't all have wings, we call them FRIENDS."

"If looking back hurts you and looking forward scares you, just look beside you and I'll always be there for you."

Tami, sounds like Mr. Tami is a keeper if he can make good lasagna and was intuitive enough to realize that today would be a really good idea to make it! We are thinking about you and sending support and {{{HUGS}}}! When you are ready to talk about it, we will be here for you!

Judy, your fresh vegetables sound wonderful, even your huge button squash!

Gail, how lucky - you also have fresh vegetables.

I think in our next lives we should all live MUCH closer together so we can share fresh vegetables, laughs and tears more easily!

Suzanne, I'm glad your gathering and your Italian bread were successful!

Thank you, thank you, everyone for answering my questions about dragons, mufti and bunta before I had to type them!

Going to check out Suzy's link now. Will be right back!

Hip Hop is apparently a lot of fun based on the huge smile on her face when she came out. One of the 'sweeties' from primary school is in her class and she was a little nervous about that but even that went really well!!

Julie, I think you have the right idea about living closer... and preferring to stay home in that weather.

Finally on page 544!

Thanks for the story about Queensland's relocation to Tasmania, according to CNN, Suzy! I'm embarrassed for my fellow countrymen. It would seem sensible if you aren't sure of the facts to double-check them before putting an incorrect map on the news!

Hi, Gail, Judy, eaa, Vicki, Suzy and Heidi!

Vicki, what a shame that your BIL and SIL's surprise visit was spoiled - and the "overwhelming enthusiasm" of your MIL about the visit was disappointing, I'm sure! Must be very discouraging!

Suzy, I'm not too surprised the Alie wasn't thrilled by the visit by the dragons. I'm sure the boys were more excited - and the fact that they were there to reinforce the respect program probably wasn't as exciting as it would have been if they were there "just because." I don't suppose any of them are trained as motivational speakers, so probably weren't all that excited themselves. On the other hand, I bet she was plenty excited about the hip hop class!

Heidi, I'm glad you're enjoying the Kung Fu DVDs!

I'm thinking of all of you and sending {{{{{HUGS}}}}} prayers and positive thoughts for all of you! I hope Al's appointment went well today and Al and MizT got a chance to talk to both doctors and get some questions answered!

Hi to anyone I haven't mentioned in a few days. We miss you if you don't have time to visit!

All the best to everyone for a good finish to your day/night! Good Night, Everyone!

Late dinner here again tonight, we always seem to eat late. Tonight is Gail's Chicken, so it is currently going through it's finishing stage in the oven...yummy. Won't be ready for about 'another twenty minutes'. That cracks my kids up, whenever they ask how long it will be till dinner, that is my standard reply, whether it is or not!
Last night, Beth asked what time would dinner be, I said 'The usual, about 6ish'... she just guffawed and said how dare I lie so blatantly to her. What is she saying?

Forget who said it but Barney is a Dinosaur, not a Dragon. Barney is a big, purple dinosaur and I still have some of the videos. Mitchell used to watch him. When Mitchell gets in a mood now, we threaten to put in a Barney video.

Morning all.

Tami, it was my mistake about Barney. I realized I had made a mistake when I was lying down trying to sleep, but I didn't get up to go on the computer again. Either way, Barney is really annoying! ♫♫ I love you, you love me ...♫♫ Now I'm going to be singing that song all day.

Just got an update from MizT's sister....
Talked with Tricia this morning. They had a pretty good night. Al is still coughing a bit, and coughing up blood, too, but they think that is probably due to broken blood vessels due to the coughing. Doc thinks the mucus is coming from lungs, Al thinks it's from the throat. Whatever, he still has quite a bit of that.

Today he has to decide if he can handle getting the radiation. The problem is having to stay still for that amount of time. The coughing is a problem with that, of course. Tricia was thinking maybe with the percoset he'd be able to.

I've been out on the roads this morning. Had to go to the sale barn to pick up the check for the 2 calves. All the schools are closed in the area, and the highway hadn't been plowed! It was a nightmare of a drive. I couldn't touch the brakes because of sliding on the ice. At least I got home safe and sound. I was listening to the truck radio, and there were so many accidents happening that it seemed like 'bumper cars'.

Because of the storm yesterday, there weren't many buyers at the sale barn, so I didn't get a great price for the calves. Oh, well. Sh*t happens.

Now to water cows, feed poultry and cats, then bring dog food inside. Then a nice nap before the Cattlemen's meeting. IF I go. The topic for the program is farm insurance. A yawner. And it's rude to nap during the talk. Hmmmmm ... maybe I'll stay home and throw a pizza in the oven instead. Well, I've got 6 hours to decide.

Thanks for the update on MizT and Al, Heidi. Isn't winter wonderful??? Glad you made it home safe and sound. BTW, when all in the world is wrong, remember that Barney loves you!!

The oldest grandie was in the worst mood that I have ever seen this morning. I didn't know what to do, time outs weren't helping. She got to the point where she was out of control and she couldn't have stopped if she tried. I hate days like today.

It feels like -25C with the wind chill here (actual temp is -16). I was only out for about 10 minutes to the bus stop this morning, and I will have to do the same again this afternoon. Brrrrrr.

Heidi, when you say throw a pizza in the oven, are they home made or frozen store bought ones? I just have no wish to cook tonight, so it might just be a franks and beans night.

Frozen store bought. Or rather truck bought. (This'n is from Schwan's, a Minnesota based company that sells from their trucks. They show up here every 2 weeks and have delicious foods and deserts. They're especially known for their ice creams.) Home made are too much work.

I do NOT understand why parents hate their children so much that they set them in front of a TV and force them to destroy their developing brain cells by watching the black hole of inanity that is Barney. No wonder this country has gotten so stupid!
