Just had a phone call from one daughter. The local show (country fair ) is on and Laura got a first prize for her photo of me with the King Parrot(I put the photo on my page ages ago). She got a third for another photo and she will ride the horse tomorrow. Belinda got a Reserve Champion and a first on her horse this morning. I will go to see Laura ride tomorrow. (it is about 1 hours drive from here).

Congratulations to Laura and Belinda June. Since they are in the big city - relative to down here - those results are particularly impressive!

I have another IH story......
Last night, I took some of the blintzes out of the freezer, and set them on a plate in the fridge to defrost, for easier cooking for lunch today. When I went to take them out of the fridge, they were gone. I asked IH where they were, and he told me that he ate them! I asked "RAW?" Yeah... he covered them with a lot of strawberry jam so he didn't notice the taste. I promptly told him that there was raw egg in them, and he's gonna get food poisoning. The filling is primarily cottage cheese, egg and butter.

Heidi, Viv goes into town for coffee in the mornings so you may not get an answer to your Email till much later.
Suzy, Luddenham is a small but well astablished show. Camden in a few weeks time is a big one. 50+ years ago my grandmother used to get prizes for her butter at Luddenham show!

Wow June, I love that picture of you and the King Parrot. Congratulations to Laura.

Just got home and the grandies were not too bad. I am sore and tired though. It's strange how two little munchkins can take it out of me so quickly. There's a reason why older women don't have children!!!! They also didn't like the mini-pizzas. Can't win for trying.

Suzy, I'm sure the grandies are worried about their mom. They don't understand at all. The youngest also has a cold and didn't get much sleep last night. She is the one most attached to her mother so she will have trouble when her mom goes into the hospital.

I got one of my medications from the drug store yesterday and I can't open the child proof cap. I'm supposed to take it with my supper, but it will have to wait until hubby gets home. I feel like taking a hammer to it!!!

Theresa... I know here you can request at the pharmacy for a top that isn't child-proof. They're too hard to open with arthritic fingers.

Heidi, my pills always come with a screw top, until now. Even hubby had a bit more trouble opening them. I was actually laughing as I was trying to open it ... not only are they child proof, they're adult proof!

Theresa, most of the time the kids can open the childproof caps and the adults can't!!

All of our pills come in stupid push-through sheets. I much prefer the bottled ones.

Theresa, Alie used to stress if she didn't know where we were, but if she knew, she was okay. If we showed her where we worked she was fine, if we didn't, she worried.

Hi all. Just got back from the batting cages with the boys. They had fun, I watched. Beasties are playing cards and hubby is wrestling a puppy. It is a peaceful evening.

Theresa, I am sure the kids are stressed because of their mom. I hope once surgery is over and mom is back home, they will start to improve along with their mom. As I said before, keeping you in my thoughts.

Gekko, Everyone!

Reading page 560 right now: Hi, June, Heidi, Broni, Vicki, Brenda, Gail, Tami, Theresa and Suzy!

June, I hope you are feeling less stiff and sore and enjoyed the dinner with friends!

Heidi, you certainly got your exercise walking the 12 acres looking for a new calf! I had no idea how smart the cows are - maybe even smarter than some humans?

Vicki, have a wonderful weekend away from work! Just don't stay too far away from a computer.

Brenda, so pleased to know that you're one of Tim, the decorator's, favorite people. You're so right. People who know what they are doing can get things done SO much more quickly than mere mortals who struggle and muddle through! Your bedroom will look wonderful in just a short time!

Gail, is the new internet provider more economical or give you more minutes? I'm curious how long it will take to download the entire knowledge of the world!

Theresa, sorry to hear that the arthritis is acting up. Hope it eases before next week! I like you idea of the "mini pizzas" on English muffins; I bet the grandies will too! Keeping you in my thoughts and hoping all goes well for your D, your grandies and you in the next few weeks! I love your response about being Mother Theresa! Very clever, my dear!

Heidi, I've also been wondering about V Viv and hoping all is well! Theresa, good idea to see if she's on facebook!

Heidi, maybe IH thought he'd be safe to say there was a new calf. He had a 50/50 chance of being right! It's also likely that there will be a new one in the next day or two, I suppose. (Was he or the car/truck injured by his run-in with a deer? What about the deer?

Heidi, I hope Robert will show up tomorrow, if he didn't today. I know you had things that needed to be done!

Suzy, thanks for sending an email to Viv! Hope you get a response soon! I'm thinking you're probably right about Theresa's grandies being concerned about the outcome and not really knowing how to say it.

Theresa, have the grandies ever spent the night with their mom away before? You can never tell what might be going through their minds.

Broni, I hope you and Bella are enjoying some quiet time - when she's not growling at passers-by! (Or is it Bella? One of my nephews has a dog named whatever yours is not named. Sorry for my confusion.)

June, it's good to know that you have phone numbers for Viv - in case Suzy doesn't get an email back!

Julie, the grandies have spent the odd night with their other grandmother. The last time was a few months ago and she ended up driving them back home around 11:00 PM because they were both upset to be away from their mom. They have spent the night with me as well, but that doesn't really count because they just have to go through a door upstairs to get to their house. I have a feeling that they will both be sleeping with daddy when their mom is in the hospital.

About to start reading page 561: Hi, June, Suzy, Heidi, Theresa, Tami, Gail and Broni!

Good bit of advice, June, about valuing experiences over possessions!

June, congratulations to Laura for her first-prize-winning photo of you with the King Parrot and a third prize for another photo! Good luck from all her cyber Aunties when she rides tomorrow! Also, congratulations to Belinda for her Reserve Champion and a first on her horse!

Heidi, at least he admitted to eating them instead of making up some silly story.

Theresa, I'm shocked that the grandies didn't like the mini pizzas. Maybe they were just being contrary after a long week of school? I would have been pretty excited to have that for dinner! So sorry you can't get the child-proof cap open to get your medication!

Hooray, Tami, a quiet and relaxing evening for the Tami family!

Hi, Broni! Are you still here - or off doing other things already! Darn, I should read the posts around mine before going back to reading! I hope all's well. (It's now been about 30 minutes since you posted.) So sorry if I missed you!

HI JULIE! yes, my light was on, I ws trying to catch up reading. Hubby is napping, so it is quite here tonight.

I read 3 pages, remember less than one, OH DEAR.

Heidi, hope the calves come during this milder weather. today we had 74 degrees, a mite warm for February! How are your temps running?

Theresa, hope the surgery and recovery go well for daughter. what is the date again? I think I missed that.

June, surprised you did not ache more than you did, all the exercise painting. Congrats to daughter and Laura on the ribbons. I did like the parrot photo.

Broni, things still going well at your house? enjoy your quite weekend.

Brenda, nice to know that Tim is comming out of retirement to decorate your bedroom. I know it will be grand.

I have requested the child proof caps not be on our meds, too. the pharmacy my BIL uses had a neat idea. One cap, double sided, you can turn it over if you need it easier for arthritic hands. No going back to pharmacy when they mistakenly put on wrong cap.

OOOPS, time to give 9 o'clock meds here. I hate to wake him for his sleeping pill hehehe, but he does need the other meds now. Hope to get back soon. Hugs to all with extras.

Just after 10 pm, and it's 50℉ / 10℃. So warm for this time of year.
IH just walked in the door and said that he thinks a cow is in labor. So I have to go outside now and check her. Ta Ta.

I need to start getting ready for bed - have a very early morning tomorrow. Sending {{{{HUGS}}}}, positive thoughts and prayers for all of you and your families and friends! Good Night!

Gekko all,
Theresa, I'm very surprised your grandies didn't like the mini pizzas, getting to make them themselves was a guarantee my kids would eat them!

June, will Laura and Belinda be going in the Camden show too?

MizT, I used to hate it when they woke me up to give me a sleeping pill, especially since they woke my up again ripping open the wooden blinds - the night shift nurses really sucked!

What's wrong with this picture?

After being told by a passer by that a toddler appeared to be hanging from a balcony railing, 4 police officers forced their way into the apartment and grabbed him before he fell...
