Gekko and Hello, Everyone!

Have worked nearly all day on taxes and related paperwork! Days more to go, I'm afraid. Actually became quite overwhelmed & had a bit of a melt down mid-afternoon. I've recovered and know the only way all of this is going to get done is just focus on doing it and forget about other things. Work needs to be done this week for club membership. House also needs a very thorough cleaning. I may only be here sporadically over the next few weeks and may not have time to do summaries. My apologies to all. I can assure you that I'll be thinking of you, whether I have time to post or not.

Sending many positive thoughts, , prayers and {{{{{HUGS}}}}} to all of you, including family and friends! Especially thinking of all those who have not been feeling well or have been having or are about to have medical or surgical interventions of any kind.

I have an early morning tomorrow, so should get to bed (nearly midnight)! Enjoy the rest of your afternoon/evening/night!

Devastating news from Christchurch. The last 6 months have been a very hard time for our Island neighbours. Let's pray there will not be any more serious aftershocks.

Sheila on easy posted a link about the earthquake in Christchurch. There are videos, but I can't watch them. Darrell & I went thru the Northridge quake in California in 1994.

Off to do my morning cow check. I'll have to bundle up today, cause it's cool and damp. I have been doing my cow checks in crocs and tee shirts (and jeans, of course... don't want to start a scandal.).

We have another bull calf!! A nice, big one!!

Calf total to date is : 6 heifers and 3 bulls.

Just cooking up a whole mess of hamburg so I can make casseroles and sauces for the next few weeks. One down, three to go.

Hi, everyone! Hope you're all well. I'm going to try to get back on "easy" on a regular basis, and I wanted to touch bases here, too. Jaime is doing well. He's even riding his bike again. We're planning a trip to the Stuart/Jupiter, FL area from March 19 thru the 26th and hope to get together with some of the Florida Sudokuists. If anyone is interested in joining us for lunch or dinner during that week, we can start making plans!

Jane, I hope you have a fantastic time on your trip away. It is fantastic news that Jaime is riding his bike again.

I read this morning that 120 people had been pulled alive from the wreckage in NZ, 120 reasons to celebrate - so far!!

The footage of the guy trying to cut open a car with a hack saw gets to me every time.. That's heart!!

Disasters like this do tend to bring out the inner hero in some people. It makes up for all the creeps and scumbags.

Also the guy who picks up and tosses a huge concrete block to get to someone behind it..

We've put a camera down and found a pocket of 15 people alive.

Maybe the journalist should help out and see first-hand how dangerous it is.

Brenda - have a wonderful day. I was going to get you a roof too but they all beat me to it so now I'm at a loss - what do you get someone with too many roofs over her head! Looks like it will just have to be my best wishes.

Watching the Chrishchurch footage again this morning. They're saying 100 hours - for the rescue and hopefully survival of victims.
My thoughts to all in Christchurch, particularly those trapped - I hope they get to them sooner rather than later.

Suzy - I do agree with you about journalists. How many times during this earthquake, our floods and the cyclone in NQ did we see a reporter push a mike into someone's face and say, 'How did you feel?'
