Yes, Julie. That's exactly it. I have lost count of all the dogs of theirs that have been hit by cars, or killed by coyotes. Unfortunately for the innocent dogs, they never learn. Other people have even given them good kennel fencing, and they still let their animals run loose. And it's not just dogs. It's horses (most of which are crippled), calves, goats and pigs that run out on to the road. Yes, they've been reported, but it does no good.

We have been trying to catch her to sell her for nearly 6 months. All I have to do now is to sort out a runt calf I'm also selling..... she was born with abscesses on both jaws.... the Vet operated on her when she was 1 week old, but she never grew. She is a purebred with probably the best bloodlines of any of my Red Angus. I've discussed her with the Vet repeatedly, and this is really my only option. Tomorrow I'll load both of them in the trailer .... should be easy .... and take them to the sale barn.

There is a reason why I call this place Surreal Farm. I was in the barn feeding and watering #9 (the crazy cow) and the little runt wandered inside to see what I was doing. I quickly shut the barn door and ran her in the pen with #9. It could not possibly be easier.

I'm hoping that I can get those 2 to the sale barn tomorrow afternoon. We're supposed to get a snow storm starting around 7 am tomorrow. It'll continue for at least 2 days.

I don't ever want to drive in snow. I think I will stay in Florida.
Can't remember what I read so my apologies to anyone I have missed. I am supposed to be doing some work on the pooter but had to stop in here first. I do have my priorities in order.

If there's any snow accumulation, I won't be taking them. I'd have to drive down a very steep, curved road. Too dangerous just for a trip that can be postponed until Tuesday.

Heidi, I just read of your capture of the little calf that will also be sold. For once, things happened a bit easier than usual!

Heidi, it must be tough on you seeing how your neighbours treat their animals. I'm sure a part of you wants to go over there and gather up all the animals and take them home. It doesn't seem fair that no one seems to be able to do anything.

Hi everyone! Haven't posted for a while, but I have been trying to keep up with the news. Hope everyone is feeling fine ... Nothing much happening here - working in my garden, veggies growing beautifuly - just found a zucchini we missed: HUGE! Sun is shining, birds singing, etc., very nice day.
Hope everyone is well and happy. :)

Judy, please send some of the sun my way ... I could sure use it. I am feeling sun deprived and I think I have a touch of cabin fever. Love zucchini in a stir fry.

I'm back from my date with George!!
Had to laugh at what Julie said - I went because the thought of a COOL cinema out of this heat seemed wonderful - even found a park undercover, came out into a storm and cooler temps. Woo Hoo!
I enjoyed the film - it was believable without a 'happy ending', a bit of humour and a thought-provoking look at modern life in big business. (Engaging a specialist to lay off staff, instead of facing them yourself). My rating - 4 stars. Must remember to go the the Flicks Forum and post my review.
