Bon voyage June ... what a wonderful trip!
Suzy, I don't really listen to country music much (I'm still a rocker at heart). So I probably would not have listened to Slim Dusty. Thanks for sharing the song, I enjoyed it.
Have the grandkids after school and they seem to be amusing themselves quite nicely right now. Of course that could change from one minute to the next.
There's a nasty cold wind here today. I picked the kids up at the school bus and my eyes were watering!

Good morning lovely SA people.
Congrats on your first TOPP Theresa.
June - how exciting to meet Wadgy and to go to the tiger temple, always wanted to go there. Kathy from Valrico went there last year. Hope you get the chance to rest up a bit before you leave because the trip will be full on.
Suzanne - loved the marble story.
Suzy - so did Ebob keep her toast down and get off to school OK?
Spoke to all my grandies that returned to school yesterday, they were happy with teachers and classmates etc. Hope it lasts. The 3 girls all have male teachers for the first time and Lachlan has a woman teacher. Now I have one each in Grades 3-6. (And one still in kindy.)

Off to collect my sister this morning - we'll visit Mum and then do a gail and some retail therapy.
Col started on his big contract job yesterday - we hired a young 18yo lad to work with him and they were happy with what they accomplished and Col was happy with the kid who is a good worker with his fair share of common sense.

June, the tiger temple! Wow! I have read about that and it sounds amazing!
Cyn, I hope you have a nice visit with your Mum, a yummy gail, and lots of therapy!!
Ebob did head off to school with instructions to call if she needed to. She is so excited about her new subjects and timetable and can't wait to find out more about them. Wait until she sees how much more work Year 11 is than the other years!! Late last night she was able to have a shower which was her way of testing herself. I'm sure she didn't feel as well this morning as she claimed...

Hi everyone.
June, welcome back. If you don't come back, I hope you have a good trip to Egypt. Take lots of pictures.
Suzy, Ally sounded great. Hope Ebob is feeling better and has a good first day of school.
Got interrupted by the kids and now I don't remember what I read.

Good Afternoon all, I am back.
No time to catch up yet on what is happening so hope you are all well.
I am very disappointed that Dallas the surrendered Basset was given to someone else while I was away on the boat, was obviously not meant to be.
May get back later tonight, take care of yourselves.

Good afternoon all - yes. nice visit with Mum, nice lunch in air-con (it's 36C outside, no outdoor cafe's for me today) and a bit of retail therapy - all-in all a good day.
Hello to Mitchell!!
Broni - welcome back, been wondering when you were due back. Nice out on the bay? Sorry about Dallas but at least she has found a home.
Suzy - glad Ebob got to school OK. May be more work this year but the kids are also a year more mature.

Checking in at the bottom of page 79. I have read 3 [pages, but not a lot " stuck".
My Mamo was a retake, and this girl liked to really squich them, called it a little pinch. Yeah, sure, someone should pinch her! they were going to do a untrasound if this x ray did not show what they wanted. I got to sit in the dressing room, braless in my nice cuddly warm hoodie ( I refuse to put on those ridiculous gowns, they make them for a size 2 or 4) 3 armhold wrap around things. Once I tell them I will use my own jacket as a gown they are fine with that. MUCH warmer too. The doc doing a fast look at the digital images must have seen what he wanted to see, no ultrasound. I take that to be good news, but I have to wait for MY doc office to tell me.
I did my walk, and my hand warm-exercise-massage 3 times today, we went to bank and did a gail, put one load in the wet sloshy thing, with hubby helping me move it to the hot spinny thing, about my day today.
Now to take me to bed, fore this hand decides to complain and keep me awake. Talk more tomorrow, and hopefully remember more I read next time.
Hugs to everyone.
June, have fun getting ready for Egypt, glad you shall meet up with Wagdy.
Suzy, I hope to get to that video later, when I can remember hearing it hehehe,
Heidi, good to hear neighbors were compasionate.
Lucky hid your chargers? Are these the new power tools you got for Christmaa?
Vicki, I got my walk in today too, but no dogs involved. My cat did follow after me, I discover this when I meet her as I round the circle of the cul de sac. silly kitty is a long way behind, but following in my foot steps.
bye for now.

Just home from the Baseball AGM. I don't usually go but thought I would be supportive.
Hi Mitchell!
Broni, welcome back! You've been missed. Sorry about Dallas. He looked 'meant to be' to me. Maybe another one will come up who is better able to manage the boat.
Rolanda, glad you got a clean bill of health for your teeth!
MizT, I wish they would start to get your squishy tests right the first time! Ouch! At least you got to be comfy in your robe. That's something I guess. Your kitty sounds so cute.

Broni, sorry to hear about Dallas. Heartbreaking news! :(
MizT, glad the squishy worked out good. Great idea about your jacket! Hope everything else gets better.

Suzanne, loved the marble story! It occurred to me that it would have been cute to save the marbles in that vase and then continue to collect his marbles over the years to fill it!
June, visiting the tigers sounds amazing(although, a little nerve wracking!). They did that on the Amazing Race once. Have fun in Egypt. We expect lots of pics!
Heidi, funny egg story! Picturing a wee tiny bird trying to give birth to a watermelon!
Saw on FB that Mariana is in her house but her hubby has been travelling on business a lot.

Cold front coming in here. The "pond" in my front yard and the lake in my drive way are frozen. I need a zambonie(sp?) to smooth the ice for skating! We're getting snow now and it wasn't supposed to come until later. It's supposed to be negative 17 degrees F by tomorrow when I'm driving to pick up Bryana. I have to bring my warm hat and mittens so I don't freeze in my tracks when I have to get gas!

Drive carefully in the snow Stella.
I need exercise before we go away so I walked to post a letter. Trod on some uneven ground and gave my back a jar. Feels OK unless I lie on my left side and then my leg tingles. That is why I am back out of bed. I think some stretching exercises are in order before we go away. I be doing a lot of walking!
And yes I will take a lot of photos.

I think you put an extra "e" at the end, Stella.
Can't talk. I need to brush my hair, put on my winter boots, and go help Robert deliver a trailer load of scrap metal to the place that buys it. IH is furious that I'm doing this, but I consider it just being helpful to others.

Good Morning friends!
June - How exciting to be going to the Tiger Temple...I would LOVE that! I saw pictures of it on Kathy's (Valrico) page from when she and Rob were there. Seems like such a special place.
Congrats on the TOPP, Theresa!
I posted the picture that CP sent me in my gallery...finally got it framed and up on the wall!

Cyn - have fun shopping! Glad the kid is working out for Col. So nice to have competent help.
Rola - hope the appointment is just a simple cleaning, nothing more.
Broni - so sorry about Dallas...hope he found a happy home. Good chatting with you this a.m. - and exchanging phone numbers again. What a pain, huh?
Stella - I think a zambonie would be great fun!
Thanks for the update on mariannnnnnna...will have to fb her to see if she has pics.

MzT - love that you kitty follows you on your walk. When we lived on 5 acres my cats [who are no longer with me :-(] would walk the property with me...so cute!
June - take care of your back...you don't want difficulties while you are traveling.
And on that note...all this talk about exercise is inspiring me to get out for a small jog this morning. It's just that it's cold out there!

Hello, Friends! Good Morning from COLD (about 7* F) northeastern Illinois! We had an inch or so of snow yesterday, so all the dirty snow has been covered. The sun is out, so the new snow is sparkling. It's bright and cheerful looking - but COLD!
Sorry I missed Australia Day! Belated good wishes to all! The last few days have been crazy/busy for us!
Heidi, I enjoyed the Baxter Black YouTube on your page!
I have about 5 pages to get caught up on reading, so I'll be back in a while.

Hi to Nola, Suzy, Brenda, CynB, Gail, Rolanda, Vici, Tami, Heidi, Stella, MizT, Suzanne, Theresa, Broni, and anyone whose name I missed!
How nice to "see" Nola here, though briefly! Sending positive vibes for Judy! So sorry to hear about your son's marriage - sending positive vibes, especially for the children!
CynB, so happy to hear about Col's new contract job! That should keep him busy for the better part of a week every couple of weeks! Could it also be good advertising for him? How nice that he has found a young man with some common sense as a helper! I hope everything is working out with anonymous neighbor who doesn't like a dog that barks!
Brenda, I can't imagine getting 2 sofas upstairs. Usually in our area, if delivery is included, it gets delivered to where it will be used, I think. (The only things we had delivered in the past 10 years or so were a mattress for upstairs and a sofa for the first floor.)
Rolanda, thank you for sharing the lyrics! I get choked up and haven't ever had the pleasure of visiting Australia.
Suzy and Gail - good advice for CynB and the anonymous neighbor problem. Suzy, Pride certainly keeps you busy. Don't you just love it when performances don't go as scheduled? I'm glad Ebob didn't press for a specific answer regarding the earrings! I wouldn't want to explain!
Gail - you have a favorite child? That's unheard of!
Beth is quite clever!
Stella, it was nice to "see" you again here. It's been a while, but as you say, life sometimes gets in the way.
By chance, I was visiting FB the other day - first time in a week or 10 days - and Marianna was also online. We chatted a few comments, but both of us needed to move on to other things. She said they are in the new house and her hubby is doing more traveling again. I didn't get any more specifics.
Oh, dear, June, 97 emails! I can sympathize, as it's similar to what I came home to after my surgery and time in the rehab. hospital!
Heidi, thanks for letting us know about the neighbor's dog! Hugs to you, as I know it is difficult to deal with. If the neighbor should decide to look for a replacement, would they consider a collie if another should become available through the rescue organization? We're all anxiously awaiting Feb. 7 for word on the canaries!
Oooh, I can't wait to see/hear the YouTube of Ally! I also need to take time to see/hear the Slim Dusty YouTube.
I hope I haven't missed June! June, have a wonderful trip to Egypt. Please tell Wagdy a big Hello from all of us! The Tiger Temple sounds exciting/scary.
Suzanne, great story about the marbles - and great idea, Stella, to collect the marbles in the vase!
Rolanda, I hope your dentist appointment went well! I had one yesterday as well - temporary crown off and permanent one installed, plus regular periodic cleaning. At least it's done for a while!
Hooray, Broni's back! I'm so sorry to hear that Dallas didn't work out - but happy for Dallas t

Hi, Heidi! It sounds like there are a lot of happy people on Surreal Farm. It's good that Robert got a great price for his scrap metal. Prices can shift quickly, so he timed it right! I'm not sure I've ever seen you mention that IH was happy, so I'm glad his truck is fixed! Have you made the cattle happy yet? I hope they enjoy being fed - especially after the snow you had!

Those neighbors have more dogs than I do. All run loose, and most get into trouble. Most are mixed breeds. I'd never let them have one of the rescue collies. We've had a few problems with their dogs chasing baby calves in the past. They roam the neighborhood ripping up trash bags and scattering the trash. I can't blame the dogs. They have irresponsible owners.

Heidi, that sheds a completely different light on the sistuation! Your reaction was because of the harm to the dog caused by a careless and irresponsible owner, not to the owner, who needs to train and care for his dogs. If it weren't for the demise of the dog, we could almost say the owner got what he deserved. You're right. It seems that a rescued dog (any breed) would not deserve to be placed with that family.

I DID IT!!!!!!! I caught that crazy cow that has been going thru' and/or over fences! I've got her in an escape proof pen in the barn, and I did it all by myself! It's amazing what a little luck, and a good bull whip can do.
