"...having trouble finding terra firma...", I was like that yesterday, the plane didn't want to land! And it was bobing around like a cork in rough seas :(

I don't plan on checking the canary eggs to see if they've hatched, until tomorrow. I don't want to disturb mama.

I just had a fun chat with Tami and the Beastie Boys. The boys were clowning around on their end, and the collies were clowning around on my end. I couldn't hear a word that Tami said after the first minute.

I just downloaded Skype to Mitchell's new laptop and Heidi was the test call. Picture was much better than on my computer but have to figure out how to adjust the sound. I want the boys to be able to talk to their cousins via skype. We have several out of state and this way they can watch the boys grow up.

It was a long day. Mom called this morning that she was taking dad to the hospital. He fell and she couldn't help him get up so she called paramedics. I drove down to be with her. There was nothing visible wrong but due to his health, they ran tests to make sure. The chest xray showed the beginnings of pnuemonia. He does not have a cough or fever and if it wasn't for the fall, he would have been a lot sicker in a few days. He doesn't know how he fell. I have a theory. I think his guardian angel pushed him over so that we would go to a doctor. He is stubborn and won't go until he is really sick. He is on antibiotics and doctor/nurses all agree it was a lucky fall.

Tami. He DOES have a guardian angel! I would hate to think what would have happened if he let it go for a few more days.

Hello again, everyone. :)
Tami, so lucky your Mum called the ambulance - hope your Dad is feeling better very soon.
Welcome back Steve.
Not much happening around here at the moment ... another hot day, but not too bad.
Last night we went out to watch Laura's boyfriend's band playing - she handed me a pair of earplugs before we went! Not really my style (Heavy Metal) but I've certainly heard worse, and the audience seemed appreciative. Rob was grooving along :)

Evening all!
I've got pasta sauce simmering so came for a visit. I've made a huge batch because I want to make some lasagna too. Hubby doesn't like the white sauce that comes with a lot of lasagnas so a friend told me a super easy trick to make home-made. Start with pasta sauce. Layer the pasta sheets with the sauce and whatever grated cheeses you like, with extra on the top. Bake and you're done. Easy peasy!

Judy, what fun going out to watch the boyfriend play! Ebob's friend's brother also plays in a band, but he is only 15 so the only time we have to go and listen is when they play at school functions... hehe

Hubby is madly trying to get a computer set up to show HDTV channels before 6pm. He was at work when they played the superbowl today, but it is being replayed tonight - on one of the new channels. We don't have a HDTV or HD set top box yet, so the computer is the only place he can watch it - and the monitor died. A new one has been ordered and was maybe going to be delivered today... needless to say it didn't come. So now he's trying to set up the TV thingy whatsit on one of the laptops.... and he already knows who won the game.

Laughing here - what big eyes hubby has!

He tasted the sauce and said it needed a little oregano. I added some. He tasted it, gave me a cheeky smile, and said now it has a little too much oregano. I sighed at him, grabbed the ketchup bottle (and we really do buy ketchup before anyone complains) and squirted it into the sauce. He looked at me all wide eyed and shocked, tasted again, and said it worked....

Well slack day today, heat and humidity are really getting to me.
Mind you did do the ykcus thing and created a flyer for my friend over at Dunwich who want's to sell his boat and found three free sites to post his ad on.
Whoever asked (think it was Julie) no response from the couple that looked at my boat last weekend but had another couple look at it this weekend, love the bedroom area but were not happy with the main living area. If I have not told you a boat is a very personal choice and will take at least a year to sell it if I am lucky...so don't hold your breath.

Your boat needs a family that will love it, Broni. The Native Americans believed that if something was made for a purpose, it was alive. How many times have you noticed that so-called inanimate objects seem to have personalities? I believe that they do have 'em, and should be treated accordingly.

Hi to all on this page.
Hope you feel better Bean.
I have been battling some kind of infection since the day before christmas.
I am now on my 4th lot of different anti-biotics.
The doc says oh well some of these things take a while to pass!
Also had a heap of blood tests etc. and I do have an underactive thyroid and she told me I MUST TAKE THE TABLETS this time.
Tammy, good to hear they can nip the pneumonia in the bud.
Heat and humid getting to me too here.
It has been a long, hot summer.

Hi Viv sorry to hear you haven't been well, suggest you do as the Dr says, hopefully this course of medication will do the trick.
Tami, hope your dad is doing ok.
Suzy we had the game on TV last night but decided we were not that interested in it to stay up until 3 in the morning.
Broni, I'm sure a buyer will come along for the boat, but until they do I hope you can enjoy it.

Heidi, you are right someone else will love my boat the way I do, but when she throws a tanti' you gotta listen to her. She has a lot of good memeories but Calliope will find the one who will take her on and treat her right. Now get some sleep girl.
V Viv, too many antibiotics??? perhaps you should be checking out alternative medicine, I know it helped me.
Brenda, now that Possum is helping me I have enjoyed boating again, still will take at least a year for someone to love her so I plan on enjoying her while I can.
Hehe Brenda, Dag and her water(works) problems???? hope she gets them fixed soon!

Fly-by by our Fly-boy...lovin' it!
Was sizing and submitting tons of pictures from my trip to Oz. Had me all teary eyed feeling all of you so close to my heart again. Lots of smiles, too. I didn't want to submit photos with folks without permission, so mostly they are scenic and of the fuzzies. I really wanted to submitt some of the Halloween photos from Bean's party...what a hoot!

Canary egg ..... so far there is no sign of hatching. These are young, first time parents and for all I know, they eggs aren't properly fertile. I'm gonna give them 2 more days before I actually handle the eggs and check. If these eggs don't hatch, there will be more opportunities to try again.

Vici, I would use as a guide all those who posted pictures while of you while you were here - they must be okay with it.

Broni, a friend of mine is talking about buying a boat, but she won't be looking for about 2 years. I mentioned yours to her anyway...

Happy Birthday Rain!

We have an amazing fog this morning. I know they make for dangerous driving, but they are incredible to see. My back fence is gradually becoming more and more visible.
